Hemera Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 I finally caved in and ordered the Jasniak Tarot (Polish Tarot) and I have no idea why. I hope I'll find out when it arrives! 😄 I also finally ordered the beautiful Tarot of the Golden Wheel (USG). I'm not usually into watercolor art in tarot but this one seems colorful enough. I have high hopes. (So much so that I already bought a nice notebook for it. 🙈)

And I have tracking info for... I'm not 100% sure which deck? It's not clear from the company name, so I guess it'll be a surprise!

But I've been eyeing the stuff from TarotLeatherBags on Etsy. I never ordered, because their shipping costs from the UK are absolutely insane. But I thought this would be perfect for my Geûens-Willaert Lenormand (my current heavy rotation deck), and there wasn't anything I could find that was near as nice, so I finally caved. I'd hoped that since the shipping was so expensive, it would at least be speedy. But it shipped on May 5th, was "despatched to Heathrow" (so I know they flew it, it didn't float over here on a boat) and then not a peep until today, when I got an alert that it was processed through ISC Chicago. (I always sign up for alerts in hopes that they know I'm paying attention!) So I might get it this week. I wish this seller would use a different shipping method, if they did, I'd order more. This was entirely too much money for a slow arrival. Baba ships from Ireland for way less money and I get their stuff fast. Royal Mail has a lot to learn from An Post.

The slowness is not that; it's ******** Brexit; the new rules are a nightmare. I had a package sit in Heathrow for 3 weeks recently....
gregory Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 ALSO - I just got a deck from Canada that was posted on March 31st. As well as Brexit, it has been pointed out to me that under covid, there are a LOT fewer planes out there which is seriously impacting on how much mail is getting around .

It seems that no matter how many cat tarot decks I have, if I come across one I like, . I did not want them for reasons 20 years ago, but they still were all over the internet tarot scene for a while and i am loooking forward to a blast from the past now.

But the delays are partly Brexit rubbish (if sellers aren't VAT registered, it takes extra time) and partly the vagaries of fewer flights - which is a random factor !

I bought a few from a Chinese online store (China) plus some other decks from a reputable online store here in Australia - yesterday. Exact matched decks where I could match them. I Intend to, when the ones from China arrive, compare them with the Australian bought decks which should be arriving this week or early next week. The ones that are the same exact deck that is! I want to see what is different or to see if both are the real deal. I will make sure to seperate the ones from China, if indeed knock offs and/or illegal from all my other decks, and make sure to tag them in some way so that they are known not to be the genuine article. Other than that - really excited about the new decks coming. The decks I ordered that have now arrived in the last week or so was the new Nigel Jackson one (two copies), but I haven't opened the box as such. The Rose Tarot. smittenkitten Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 I got my Taylor Tarot (based on Taylor Swift) in the mail yesterday. While I love the concept, I don't find that many of the images particularly evocative (IMO it doesn't help that it's a black and white deck). The cards with lyrics on them are better than those without. However the LWB has succinct summaries of the card meanings which will be useful to link the images to lyrics to meanings. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, although I haven't had a chance to see how it reads yet... smittenkitten

I got Tarot of the Golden Wheel and the LS Pre-Raphaelite Tarot which are actually very beautiful and exquisite decks in their own individual rights. I love the vibrant colours of the first one and imagery and the art and style of the second one. I think the ones from China will be arriving at the end of this month or the start of July. Be interesting to see if there is any difference or not. What has arrived since the first order is: The Rose x 2, The Golden Wheel, Grand Luxe (2), Broken Mirror and the Lost Tarot of Nostradamus as I just checked. The Broken Mirror is actually from KS and arrived among all of these. Seems some are back ordered and/or yet to arrive...
