Oh, I love both of those! I have a vintage Esoterico ❤, but just a US Games Albano, sadly. One day I might get (very!) lucky and find an affordable early one. 🙏😉

The oldies are often goodies. Enjoy!!

oh yeah, i just got a new albano; while i much prefer vintage to new in just about every case, an old albano would be a bit rich for my blood... 😉  nice old esotericos, however, i can do! i've been reading a lot about the unusual system, and i finally decided it was time to see it in action.

Anxiously awaiting an Ancient Tarots Of Bologna by Giacomo Zoni.

It's one of those "where'd it go?" replacement decks. Not sure but now I've finally found one at a decent price, sealed and everything. (It won't stay sealed for long!)

Home safe and sound 🙂

It's worth putting in a saved search. I got an authentic mini for well under $100. Even the box was pristine. It had belonged to a collector who never used it. When I got it, I compared it to the authentic vintage decks in the youtube videos and everything checked out. (There is NO reproduction that gets all the colors right!) Gratitude to @Rodney for assuring me that there was a decent possibility it wasn't fake, as I had assumed at first.

The seller had multiple copies and later, he raised the price to $120, so I got it at a steal. Don't give up!

Absolutely! Where/what have you been reading about it? (always interested in more info!)

I like the LWB that comes with the deck because it describes what you're looking at in the minors (unlike the Tarot Balbi one that only gives you meanings, and they seem a bit RWS-y), though not in as much detail as Picard's own "Manuel". I'm annoyed with myself because I (Google) translated the text for each card but then only saved the level of detail I felt was relevant. Now I wish I'd saved the lot.

Woo! Second Edition Commonplace Tarot and Oracles are being shipped out now. 😄😄 I've been waiting on this one a LONG time, I love Nell Latimer's work so much.

Normal Tarot is also on the way, Lumos x Nox shipping soon(ish). Just in time for my week off to go through all these.

it sounds like you might have more info than i do!

so far, christine payne-towler has so far been the best resource i've found. several of her books go into it a bit, and here's an article on tarot.com: https://www.tarot.com/tarot/christine-payne-towler/spanish-tarot

it looks like she's also edited picard's tarot manual that you mentioned, but i can't find it anywhere! do you have it? or do you have something in french?

and of course, there are several really interesting threads over on the aeclectic tarot archives, and i've basically been otherwise noodling around online.

here is a pretty good video of someone trying to unravel the esoterico:

and now, to stay on topic: when it rains, it pours! i just snagged an inexpensive, ratty copy of tarot egyptien grand jeu de l’oracle des dames! give me ALL the systems, why don't ya!

It's possible I too have located a very affordable copy of the 1986 Newell Mythic Tarot. Random happenstance. I'll rejoice for sure once it's here. 😮

I had some extra money so I treated myself to the Dark Mansion Tarot. I've been thinking about getting it for some months now and I thought it was about time. I didn't really have a preference for the backs or cardstock so I went with the blue backing that was still in stock, and I'm hoping it will be as amazing in real life as in pictures 😊

Oh you won't be disappointed, I expect, it's SUCH a nice deck. Excellently made, very detailed and fun art.

Thank you! I'll check out Christine. And Kelly's video - she's always worth a watch.

I can point you to the Manuel in French, but if you've been trawling Aeclectic, you've most likely already found it - https://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=60038

Maritxu Guler's booklet for the Esoterico is also available to download in several formats - https://archive.org/download/MaritxuGulerElGranTarotEsoterico/ - useful for copy-pasting into Google Translate etc.

And so I don't derail this thread any further 😉 - Hip hip hooray for the Tarot Egyptien! Another stunner of a deck and SO much fun for proper Fortune Teller™ readings. 🔮 (still perfectly serviceable for straight divination, of course).

Additionally, the Tarot Fortune Cards (Thomson Leng) are based on Picard's system. It's a wonderful little deck.

yes! https://books.google.com/books/about/Eudes_Picard_s_Tarot_Manual.html?id=8URBzQEACAAJ

and the thomson leng is also on my list, how cool that it's been restored. thank you!

I just received my newest oracle deck, the Madam Endora's fortune cards, and the recently released guidebook that goes with them. I really love the artwork, and the book is chockful of info, as well as a much deeper dive into each card's meaning. I can't wait to work with this deck!

Hi All! Today I received the Flower Fairies - Vintage Illustration deck and it was worth the long wait and price. The online pictures don’t do them justice. They are so pretty!! I cannot wait to gift these! The recipient loves faeries.

This thread has introduced me to so many great decks! I’m glad we are able to share our finds!

I’m raging out over today’s delivery!

I have been waiting over 3 weeks for a NEW copy of the Mythic Tarot I ordered.

This is what they delivered to me.

The book is very obviously far from new and where is the rest of the set? When a book and card set is listed as NEW one expects all the pieces to be included and it to come in it’s original box all sealed up just like it came from the factory.

I’m so worried that I’ll be disappointed and that I won’t be getting my cards.  Fingers crossed that it will yet work out.

well I'd fight 'em on the New, but the listing does not include cards.

Cold comfort, I got caught this way not once but twice with the greenwood, only getting the book.

There isn't really anything wrong with the new version, we were just so grumpy that Newell wasn't informed or consulted
