There are some that DO specify that the cards are included on abebooks, and for much the same as you just paid. Niobium Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 @Mesha I agree with everyone else--you can demand a refund for the book not being in the condition listed, i.e. new, and that ought to be upheld. You may need to avoid any listing without photos, though, if it doesn't explicitly mention the cards. 😕

I don't care for the white bars running through the pictures, but I suppose I'll get used to them. Page of Ghosts Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 My Dark Mansion Tarot arrived last week after some weeks in transit. I wasn't sure what to expect from the silk matte cardstock but it really weirded me out the first time I touched it so I felt some unease about not going for the other version with more regular matte cardstock. Now that I've flipped through it a couple of times, shuffled and done a simple reading I'm getting used to it and I'll be able to use it like any of my other decks. Other than the strange sensory experience I'm warming up to I really like everything about this deck and I'm glad I took a chance on the silk matte cardstock. It does shuffle nicely and it's not too thick for my liking.

I am not tempted. Not even a little bit. I already have a lot of antique patterns, and contemporary art doesn't do anything for me. So la di dah. 😁

I got sucked into the buying the gilt-edge version 😛 There is no guidebook - the creator says the meanings are based on the RWS and she wanted people to use the artwork to guide them. I'll be interested to see whether this works for me once I feel confident with my traditional RWS deck (I'm currently taking a card a day and journaling about it). I do like the artwork in the Black Line Tarot (which is why I was drawn to buying it), but even looking at it online I'm getting a different feel from it compared to the traditional RWS so I'm not sure how it will translate into readings. We'll see. I'm sure I'll post about it again!

Today I also ordered Mary K Greer's Understanding the Tarot Court because I am still really struggling with court cards (I really don't like them but I'm determined to learn to read them!)

I'm waiting on the second edition of the Blooming Cat Tarot which has exceeded target on Kickstarter and should be going to the printers in a couple of weeks. Should be with me around November. I love the playful imagery and feel it'll be a fun deck to use for less serious readings. Also, I ordered the Pagan Otherworlds Tarot, as I love the artwork and a lot of it is similar to the RWS so should be easier for me to pick up.
