Is there a time limit now on editing posts? I used to be able to edit posts months after I'd made them, and have made posts in my journal that rely on that!

Yes there is a time limit now. Staff has had issues with a few member who went back and edited out a huge number of posts which created an incredible mess for staff to clean up. I’m sorry that their behavior had to effect the rest of you. The exact time limit for edits is decided by the tech admins so you could always discuss that with @Little Fang or @stephanelli

Maybe journals - as single person threads - could be exempt ? I do welcome it, though, sorry, ilweran.

You may need to check that all members are set to the editing restriction. (I just checked in two forums and I can still edit. (While we're on the subject of restrictions, I am on post approval both in this forum and in the In Memoriam Forum... not sure why...)

Subscribers are exempt from the time limit. We will try and get it changed for exchanges, readings and journal areas where people need to edit readings at any time.

The post approval thing is not personal, I believe @Little Fang put certain forum areas on post approval since we had so much spam in them

Thank you 🙂

Thank you! If an exemption could be made for the journal section that would be great and much appreciated.

Don't mind about anywhere else - though I only found out after trying to edit a post made yesterday on my phone to correct all the typos/auto-corrects, I can live with my phones annoying habit of always correcting 'but' to 'bit'.

I'd happily subscribe but I'm waiting to see if I still have a job after March 😬

Here to confirm what Raggydoll said.

Can confirm that in this forum and the memorial forum posts are all moderated, this one to reduce spam as its an area guests can post in (for example if someone is having trouble logging in) and the memorial one to easily keep it clean so as to be a nice space to remember those we've lost.

It cannot be changed per forum section, and unfortunately past member behavior has made it a necessity.

Subscribers are exempt, and posts can be edited up to an hour after posting to fix typos and anything else.

Was any warning given of the change? I don't remember seeing anything, if I'd known I'd have changed the posts in my journal beforehand.

Unfortunately we had to make the change fairly quickly so we weren't able to pre-warn about this.

Thank you - the joys of working for a charity, though the risks are greater this year than they've been in the past, and everything was delayed by months due to Covid etc., so it's been hanging over us all for months now.

I understand. Some places don't let you edit posts at all!

This is a problem for the Deck of the Week group as we have folks sign up during the week rather than all at one time, and we like to add them to the original post. I guess that won't be allowed any longer?

Hey @Bodhiseed unfortunately no. If you want I can do it for you. If you just give me the names please and what you want to add?

Thanks joy. Here's who we have so far. I normally don't do the lead post, but VGimlet was snowed under.

1.  Wyrdkiss - Somnia Tarot

2. VGimlet - Goetia Tarot

3. AJ-ish/Sharyn - Illuminated Earth Oracle

4. Bodhiseed - Rosetta Tarot paired with the Day of the Dead Lenormand

5. Mi-Shell - Winterseer Oracle

6. Rachelcat - Good Karma Tarot

Done, added. I will check again later today and tomorrow. You can also send me a PM.

Just to update this thread, we have been working on a solution because hosts of regular exchanges really need to be able to edit the first post and other posts of their exchange threads.

So now you will be able to edit your posts freely if you get to over 999 posts to reward our regular and loyal posters in the forum. So there is no time limit for editing posts if you are at 999+ posts or a supporter of the forum, everyone else will have up to one hour to edit their posts
