Wyrdkiss Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 (edited) Let's do the Triumphi Dela Luna Paradoxical Purple 333 💜. In anticipation of the illustrated pips version soon in my paws. Edited April 22, 2022 by Wyrdkiss
sweeneyish Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Well, how can I resist joining in some Trionfi della Luna fun? I’ll join with classic edition this time, and also Mildred Payne’s Oracle of Black Enchantment.
Wyrdkiss Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 First reading, about my creative process and YouTube channel ( not Tarot related). Here we have indications of calm assertiveness, patient momentum. Stay the course.
AnomalyTempest Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 I'll join in and use my Tarot Nova this week.
sweeneyish Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Nice reading, @Wyrdkiss. This is one of my favourite Strength cards of all time. My reading for today: The Page of Coins chases a dream towards the Ace of Wands, the incarnation of inspiration and energy. The VII of Swords shows the situation completely becoming complicated by a network of crossed blades - but not stuck, based on the flying blade in the middle, which slides through the barrier. Temperance stands at the end of the path, mixing together opposing energy in her cups. This is kind of me in a nutshell - chasing shiny things, inspired, and ending up in all sorts of conflict. Temperance is the guide here I think - both with her balance, but also with the idea of flow - being in the flow of experience, letting things come and go without grasping at them or pushing them away. Also, I love this elephant drinking the waters of wisdom in the background.

I've always thought of the elephant as a symbol of great strength balanced with patience and gentleness. Seems like a perfect fit for Temperance! I'm in this week with Tarot by Caro paired with the Holitzka I Ching. Thank you @VGimlet! 💚
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Green Witch Tarot for me, thank you VG. Felicitations to our gang!
Rachelcat Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Hi, crew! So many interesting decks already! I’m in this week with my now-normal new schedule of not reading every day . . . ☹ This week I’m going to take it easy with a majors-only deck. Well, another double majors-only deck! I’ll be using Oswald Wirth 22 Tarot Arcanes Kabbalistique 1889 and Oswald Wirth 22 Tarot Arcanes Kabbalistique 1926 shuffled together, which I call “Two Wirths.” They are from the lovely The Cartomancer site, and you can get them singly or as a pair. (I just looked, and it says the folks at The Cartomancer are taking a break. I hope they return. I need a periodic dose of historical reproductions!) As you see, they come in a cool tin box with a clear window. The differences between the two decks aren’t that great, so I’m not sure how I’m going to read them, but we’ll see! I might try to bring in the non-Golden Dawn Hebrew letter assignments into my readings, but don’t count on it! In the meantime, the interview! From the backs, I can tell all but one are from the 1926 deck. Most important characteristic: La Temperance 1926 It’s not just a joining of two decks, but a blending of them! Strength: Le Soleil 1926 It’s pretty and it’s clear to understand. It comes from the childhood of esoteric tarot. Weakness: L’Empereur 1926 It’s very closely tied to a specific authoritative interpretation (that of Eliphas Levi), and it’s not one I’m all that used to. What I can learn from the deck: Le Pendu 1926 But I can learn that I can read with any deck, whatever the system. If I suspend my analytical thinking a bit. All the coins falling are all my decks. Use them or lose them! How I can learn it: La Papesse 1889 By being open to mystery. Her book is half closed, but that means it’s half open! Mystery holds the keys that rational learning doesn’t. Outcome of our work together: Le Diable 1926 It will steer me toward a world view that I’m actively trying to leave behind. Reading with this deck will be the devil’s advocate for mystery and openness against my increasingly rational skepticism. Which is how it should be! See you around this week!
Bodhiseed Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 This week I'll be using Tarot by Caro, created and self-published by Caroline Clarke. The oracle I'll be drawing from is the I Ching, illustrated by Klaus Holitzka with instructions by Marlies Holitzka; it is published by AGM Urania. Today's cards are Strength and Hexagram 56: Clarke's rendition of Strength made me think of dog handlers at a show - 'flagging' the tail and slipping a treat to the dog. My inner beast - the part of me that would like to freely offer head slaps and say whatever passes through my mind - must be treated with care and respect as well. Rather than trying to sit on it to keep it under control, I can acknowledge what has happened (injustice, unkindness, etc.) but without exaggeration or assumptions. Hexagram 56 is called the Wanderer and advocates for humility, calmness and intelligence, as if we were a stranger in a new land. Staying calm and open-minded can create a pause and a chance to understand what was behind what occurred instead of rushing to judgment.
sweeneyish Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 @Rachelcat, thanks for the spread here - and for the inspiration. Based on what you did, I put together the majors from my two Trionfi decks and did a reading for the week ahead, to fun results! Three beings shudder in fear as Judgement appears in the sky, showering them with flames and water. From here we move to the Wheel of Fortune - or, as I’m reading it here, the Wheel of Samsara. The wheel goes around and around, the beings on it clinging to their fortune and misfortune, always spinning (side note - check out the blood around the stand!). In the context of this reading, I see Judgement as the manifestation of some of the negative thoughts I’ve been having lately, and how they keep me spinning on that Wheel of Samara. So how do I break free from it? Here we shift (interestingly) from the classic Trionfi to the Paradoxical Blue, which makes the change even more obvious. The Fool walks away from the situation in the first two cards. Not only that, he lets loose a flaming fart in that direction (one of Valenza’s go to images). So clearly, time to walk away from the spinning, with the innocence and beginner’s mind of the Fool. The Fool walks towards the World, which couldn’t be more perfect. The freshness and openness of the Fool, leaving behind the spinning of the Wheel, leads to the completion and perfection of the World. Good advice for my week ahead!
AnomalyTempest Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 @Rachelcat and @sweeneyish I really love seeing the double majors spreads you guys are doing. In particular I like how the paradoxical tarot shows such a clean break from the old way of doing/looking at things. @Bodhiseed That I Ching oracle looks intriguing and I like the Strength card. Seeing the figure holding the lion by the tail really brought some new thoughts to mind for about the card. I just love seeing how different decks can give one a new perspective. I was about to do my weekly spread last night but instead decided to do the spread that came with deck on a little paper mat. They use a method of cutting the cards four times to left and drawing the first card on each stack for the spread placement. I had a little trouble with that as I usually cut to the right but it encouraged me to be more aware of what I was doing and less in a zoned out state. I also tend to read the cards singly before looking at the spread as whole. They also letter rather number the positions. People are always free to comment on anything I post as well. I just love different perspectives. A. What's at hand: Seven of Swords Just as I flipped this card my mother (I'm with her as she recovers from knee surgery) decided she was ready to go for a walk so the reading sat for a while as we walked (a little further than last time) then sat on the porch enjoying sunshine and a cool breeze for an hour or two. Usually I have a very hard time with interruptions but this time, like the rat on the swords I managed to dodge that irritation (sword on bottom) and enjoy the fresh air without fixating on the interruption and making myself angry. B.Past Influences: King of Wands My brother popped into my head and he had come to wash my moms car the day before. Now he just loves researching things and sharing with other people. It's often hard to get a word in edgewise with him but I always learn about some interesting things. C. Ponder This: Wheel of Fortune. Haha deck. Round and round we go, spinning ever after but I'll play your silly game. Why is the monkey wearing a bell boy hat? Or is that a conductors hat? Is this thing being driven by a Monkey? 🤯 D. What to do: Ace of Swords Put some thought into it. Into what though, The spread, my life, that monkey driving the Wheel, Everything? Maybe I need to keep my ego out of things and concentrate on smaller goals for now. Overall: There are a lot of blades flying around that wheel. The rat seems to be above it all though, even dodging that one sword that appears to have been aimed at him. He is flying away from the upright sword in the Ace (A random thought that may be haunting me or cutting my confidence?) to the down turned sword in the King who looks much more at ease. I am moving towards the endgame in some particular way of thinking perhaps. Or the Wheel could turn to the right and send me backwards. Definitely more food for thought when looked at as a whole the individual parts might imply at first glance.

Thanks for another week with us.
Bodhiseed Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 @AnomalyTempest and @Wyrdkiss, I love the simplicity of Holitzka's I Ching artwork. It has always been a favorite. I've heard some folks say it is OOP, but U.S. Games Systems has it: https://www.usgamesinc.com/i-ching-holitzka-deck.html And speaking of simplicity, the Tarot Nova is the perfect deck for getting the meaning across in a very easy-to-understand way!
Page of Ghosts Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Hi everyone! I'm back from my travels and will be joining in with the Tarot of Vampyres this week. I brought the Bohemian Gothic with me but didn't end up using it while I was visiting my family. It was still very comforting to have it nearby so I'm glad I brought it.
Bodhiseed Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Welcome back, @Page of Ghosts! Good to have you with us in the DoW once again.🌻
sweeneyish Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 @AnomalyTempest - That was my first tarot deck! I saw it on my mother in law's bookshelf and started playing with it, and I was instantly hooked. How fun that you're using it this week! Here is my Trionfi "Influences of the Day" reading (just a regular old reading with the full deck). The more I play with this deck, the more I love it. Definitely a lot of depth (and boy does it make me impatient to receive my illustrated pips!) The Magician and the Chariot look at the King of Cups, who raises his glass to them. They both look away from the Five of Wands. The Five of Wands shows the staves mostly covering an eye, which looks a little wide and panicked. Today I should avoid confrontations and fights, and look towards peace and reconciliation. Hey, this Magician has teeth on his table! Are they his teeth? Is he an amateur dentist? He’s swirling his wand in the direction of the Chariot - trickery? Skillfulness? Slight of hand over forcefulness. Resourcefulness. The Chariot is very forceful in his approach. He has a tight hold on the hair of his steeds. Interesting side note - he has a red half face. The only card in the Deviant Moon that has a red half face is the VI of Wands, and she has attained a higher plane of existence than the other inhabitants. Is the Chariot rider on that same level? Regardless, I think the advice in this spread is to not be too forceful, but depend more on intellect and resourcefulness, since the Chariot’s energy is tempered by the Magician. Finally, the joyful King of Cups. He holds his cup up to the rest of the spread, grinning with joy. He overflows with generosity and kindness, compassion, and emotional maturity. So I should aim for this attitude today, with the intellect and craftiness of the Magician.
AnomalyTempest Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 @sweeneyish I love this little deck. It is so much fun and definitely has a lighter touch than many. I wouldn't have guessed that Magician had teeth on his table, I thought they were coins. Paired with the bloody knife it make me wonder if he pried them out of someone, This is my weekly time management spread and I have no idea where I got it. 1. What to prioritize this week: Knight of Wands Get busy working out some of my ideas. 2. How can I better organize my time: The Chariot With a little discipline things are set in motion and I can coast a bit. Make important things a habit. 3. A way to be productive without feeling overwhelmed: Page of Pentacles. Take it slow but keep learning and practicing. New habits take time to become routine and I am not behind. Besides, when I hurry, I make mistakes. This comes to mind because this page could trip over that vine if he is not careful. 4. How can I incorporate what I love: Six of Wands The wands are built into the crown. I need to build what I love into my routine. A little every day can make me feel like a winner. 6. Something new I can try to increase self care: Queen of Wands Sunflower and a candle. This is apparently an idea worth building on. The best thing I can do for myself is honor my creative process. On a side note the Six of Wands came up as my daily card today reinforcing the message to celebrate small victories.
Wyrdkiss Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Leaked images of the illustrated Della Luna are prompting some official ones. Here's a cool 7 of Wands.

sweeneyish Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Today I had some fun with Mildred’s Oracle of Black Enchantment. It took me awhile to get familiar with this deck. It has a lot of complex imagery and the style of it is really unlike anything else I’ve seen. As I’ve gotten to know the deck though, I’m really blown away by how good and accurate the readings are. Like all of Valenza’s decks, he encourages intuitive reading, but he provides a couple very shadow work spreads and both light and dark meanings for each card (instead of reversals). This is how I read cards anyways (no reversals for me!), so I appreciate how he lays it out. Though the imagery is quite dark in this deck, I find the meanings are very balanced between positive and negative. He has built a whole Mildred mythos that you can read on the Deviant Moon Inc. website, and I’ve included some of the extra flavour cards that come with the deck. The middle card at the top reads “Reach deep into my blood red petals and retrieve my most powerful creation. The Oracle of Black Enchantment. M” And finally, a (maybe?) not safe for work warning for some of the imagery on the cards. It’s definitely toeing the line, and I’m really not a good judge of these things, so I give the warning and leave it up to you to determine appropriateness. A past/present/future spread for today: Past Influences: The Witches' Sabbath The Witches' partake in their dark Sabbath, as the Witch Queen conjures up the forces of darkness. The Coven engages in celebration and forbidden pleasures under the hypnotic influence of the moon. The Light meaning in the LWB talks about celebration, big milestones, and that kind of thing - as opposed to debauchery and evil, so I'm pretty sure the light meaning is what applies here. Lots of things to celebrate lately, with work milestones, family milestones, meditation practice milestones (just finished the 'home work' for a big practice). It would make sense for these to live in the past influence sphere. Present Circumstances: The City A glorious, walled city sits upon a hill. On one side, the beautiful sun shines, while on the other, dark clouds and horrific events could yet come. The Light meaning and Dark meaning are so opposite here, that is hard to say where this is headed - Perhaps the last card will let it unfold. Basically, the celebration and milestones from the past have set up a beautiful structure and stability in the present, and now things could go either way. Future Possibilities: The Ordeal A blindfolded witch pushes fearlessly into a cloud of shadows and wisdom. With each step she takes, she dispels all fear while creating a life of joy and meaning. Fairly appropriate based on the card before - Some challenges ahead, but the key is to approach them fearlessly. And perhaps in general to see that all things change - nothing is permanent. From joy and celebration, to stability, to ordeal - This is the natural flux of life, and the point is to continue on, without hope or fear, staying on the path.
Wyrdkiss Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 @sweeneyish I like the light and dark options for each card. I've never seen that irackyst work before. It seems helpful. I have some rough waters personally in the future with my mom's health. The Thoth was an additional card on how to handle / approach the dark night of the soul ahead.

Thanks for sharing, @Wyrdkiss - and just wanted to say I'll be thinking of you during this journey. It is so difficult and complicated on so many levels. So my heart is with you! For the reading itself, it's amazing how beautiful that Moon goes together with the Princess of Cups - those shades of green and purple shared between the cards are quite striking. And just a side note that I love this Moon - it is one of my favourite renditions of a Tarot card ever (and I love the Moon card in general). It's definitely a twist on the usual meaning and imagery, or at least that's how I see it - because the demon actually looks quite pleasant and happy in their dreams.
