Bodhiseed Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Beginning Sunday, I'm in with the Stone Tarot paired with Buddhist Quote Cards. Thanks Fire Cat! ❤️🍁
fire cat pickles Posted October 14, 2022 Author Posted October 14, 2022 You're welcome @Bodhiseed, welcome back for another week 🙂
MichaelH Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I'll be taking part again, this time using the Baroque deck from La Muci Designs www.lamucidesign.com
AnomalyTempest Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I'm going to join in with the Moore (I can't remember the artist's name, Allie, something, I think.) Steampunk. After all the Tothy and Marseilles style decks I've been reading with the past month or so, I just wanted something easier. This is a much more relaxed feeling RWS based deck.
fire cat pickles Posted October 14, 2022 Author Posted October 14, 2022 Welcome back @AnomalyTempest 🙂
DesertRat Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Good day. I can't wait any longer to start using my good old Halloween Tarot from US Games. It's cute! 9 hours ago, MichaelH said: I'll be taking part again, this time using the Baroque deck from La Muci Designs www.lamucidesign.com This is a deck I've had to talk myself out of a few times. Do you think you could make it sound really horrible? Maybe point out some flaws. Tell me it's hazy and blurry, or something. Thanks!

stephanelli Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 I'm in again. I'm going with a change of pace this week. Instead of the Wildwood (which I will return to at some point), I'm going to go with the Mother Mary Oracle by Alana Fairchild. This one is so gentle and is another where I love the artwork a lot! Previously I've generally only used this deck for one card draws so I'd like to try and expand what I do with this deck and do some spreads with it and see what insights it can give! I have a trimmed version.
fire cat pickles Posted October 15, 2022 Author Posted October 15, 2022 Welcome back @DesertRat and @stephanelli!
Rachelcat Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) Hi, all! I’m back! From my trip to NEWTS and then I had covid. Maybe I shouldn’t have traveled . . . Anyway, I’m feeling better so time for a deck of the week! I just received from Kickstarter the Mythic Cats Oracle Deck by Jessica Feinberg. It’s 65 cards of colorful fantastical cats, many with wings. Each card features a name, “title,” and oracular sentence. I like the art, and, hey, it’s cats! But the really interesting things are the “hexcores,” 14 cards that are really 6-position spreads for various different subjects. Plus a “boxcore” that has 8 positions. They’re much easier to show than explain, so stay tuned. I look forward to trying them out. And maybe using them with other decks if the spreads work for me. Also included in the Kickstarter package are stickers, badges, bookmarks, and a pin, all in a very nice box, AND a pdf coloring book and pdf “Mythical Cats Lore” guidebook. (I’m just looking at the book now, and I like what I’m seeing so far!) And the deck itself came in a lavender satin bag. So high grades for very responsive rewards! I looked in my (embarrassingly large) collection of unused deck bags for one that would be big enough to fit the hexcores and found this! Perfect size and color, not to mention saying. No idea how long I’ve had this one or where I got it! Ok, on to the interview! And then I’ll use the hexcores for the rest of the week. I think. Most important characteristic: Miktecathual de los Muertos “The veil is thin right now.” To be meta, the deck can tune into timing energy. It knows Halloween and Dia de los Muertos is near. It will help me connect with that. Strength: Hyper the Energy It’s definitely full of energy, as you can see from the cards. And that makes it very appealing. Weakness: Sage the Wise “You may need to fail in order to learn how to succeed.” I like this card, so it’s hard to see it as a weakness. Maybe the creator isn’t as old as I am and can talk about the wisdom of age but not really understand it like I can! What I can learn from deck: Robin of the Green “Some things must die for others to be reborn.” I usually don’t connect that idea with nature so much, so that’s a good thing for me to learn! How I can learn it: Triniquya the Unique In my own way! “You have ideas and gifts unique only to you. Use them.” Very inspirational! Might be my favorite kitty so far! Outcome of our work together: Galaxy the Vast It will help me see the bigger picture. This one is beautiful! Wow, that was fun! See you tomorrow with more very wild kitties! AnomalyTempest Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Wow! That is one great deck @Rachelcat
Wyrdkiss Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I'm back to prepare for a public reading gig. This week i'm studying the Darkness of Light and Deck of the Bastard w/ Keywords.

I will henceforth be futilely trying to talk myself out of yet another cat deck. Why, oh why, Rachelcat is your deck so colorful and catty?! I look forward to more photos. 😄 17 hours ago, stephanelli said: I'm going with a change of pace this week. fire cat pickles Posted October 16, 2022 Author Posted October 16, 2022 Welcome back, @Wyrdkiss! We missed you last week. Curious, does the DoB normally not have keywords or is there two versions?
Bodhiseed Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 (edited) This week I'll be using the Stone Tarot, a self-published deck by Alison Stone. I may also dip into her book of tarot poems (Ordinary Magic), although it wasn't written as a companion book. The oracle I'll be using is the Buddhist Quote Cards, painted and published by Diana Altenburg. I have paired each card with a verse from the Dhammapada (a Buddhist text). Today's draws are Justice and a verse from chapter 32: That stunning bright red in this Justice card surely speaks to how injustice and inequality creates a passionate reaction in people. When things are greatly imbalanced (and the voices of the affected go unheard), neighborhoods are burned, people are attacked, and chaos ensues. Yet Vanessa Zuisei Goddard offers another perspective: "Remind yourself that anger is just another form of energy; that you can use it to sustain the hard work of caring for whom or what you love." Such energy can be channeled into productive and creative purposes rather than just used destructively. The verse from the Dhammapada is a reminder that it takes honest self-reflection and open-mindedness to achieve Justice's objectivity; recognizing our own ignorance and prejudice is required: As a smith does with silver, the wise person gradually, bit by bit, moment by moment, removes impurities from herself. Rachelcat Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Great to see all the kitty love! 😻 I'm really enjoying the deck myself! Here's my first reading with a hexcore. Check it out.

Curious, does the DoB normally not have keywords or is there two versions? Why thank you Fire Cat. Because TarotbySeven's decks are Print on Demand, you can usually choose within her tarot packs from the following options: Title / Traditional (the Tower) Keyword ("The Tower" and Keyword Definitions) or Image Only I tend to use the keyworded DoB for festival / club readings when there are a large number of clients in a day or evening. The one word reminder helps ease mental fatigue. (at least part of the time. I always use the Thoth as well). Edited October 16, 2022 by Wyrdkiss
Wyrdkiss Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 M first pull, with the corresponding card selected for juxtaposition. Notice how lovely the Darkness of Light is next to the more muted, old weathered style of the DoB. The darkness of Light 4th edition reprint just went live to order. I decided I'm going to get a 4th copy, to be housed at my sister's place in case of fire or theft. That's how much I need a copy of this pack in my life.
AnomalyTempest Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 @Wyrdkiss that deck is really nice and serene feeling. It's like looking at a Merking. Is that a correct term? @Rachelcat I'm really enjoying that deck. Those spread cards are such a neat idea. I can't wait to see more. @Bodhiseed I like the way the Scales of Justice merge into the tree on the next card. It's like they are flowing together. Like water came and touched the edge of the Justice card and it swirled into a Buddha. Today I'm posting a spread I got at Grandma's House. My version can me found here in my Journal:

Wyrdkiss Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Possibly Tempest. Glad you like the deck. The suites all have a subtle corresponding colored background as well. Here is the pink in the wand suite:
