A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, some use two. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in

I'm in with the Wayfarer Tarot paired with the Curious Oracle. Thanks Fire cat! ❤️

This week I'll be using the self-published Wayfarer Tarot, created by Stacy Salpietro-Babb with Margaret Shipman. I'll also be drawing from A Curious Oracle, self-published and created by Holly DeFount. Today's draws are Six of Water (Cups) and the Anchor:

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are,
the things you never want to lose. ~Kevin Arnold

Most of us likely remember when we moved away from home, from all those people and places that were familiar. Even those of us who were happy about leaving and being on our own probably experienced a little wistfulness along with our excitement. But memories of the people, places and things we left behind - what we learned and how they shaped us - are the same things that can give us a feeling of stability in our new environment. The Anchor suggests that we don't have to let these things stultify us; we can lift anchor and sail to other waters. But those memory anchors can remind us of our roots, what we've accomplished and overcome.

Welcome back @Bodhiseed!

I'm going to give it another go with the Svizzera this week. I didn't have much a chance this week...

Yes, FCP! ♥

Quite a few days ago I asked, if I/ we can have a study group for this deck in the study section, but I have not heard back.....

I did my Full Moon reading with it here:

Hi, crew!  Here for a happy, shiny Monday!  This week will be Minchiate al Cigno, a Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua deck.  I’ve been on the lookout for this one for a while, but I should have known that LS would get around to it eventually!  So now I have 4 minkie decks.  I’m trying to figure out which ones are copied from which, but I remain confused.  It looks like some but not all of the little minor vignettes of the Etruria are here.  And for all of them, I like all the extra majors because they make common sense, and I always like swords that look like swords!  Oh, wait, and the centaur knights.  I also the small cards and the limited color palette.  So much to like!

Interview time!

What is your most important characteristic?  El Gobbo/Father Time/Hermit

The deck is old.  And it has similar but different majors and symbolism than regular tarot.  Both important characteristics of minkies.  And this deck shows its age.

Above we see time’s arrow and below a deer, which I’ve read is a symbol for old age.  Is that because the older the deer the larger the antlers?

What is your strength?  Prudence

It’s a good deck because it’s wise, but in a practical way.  It’s useful because it has so many more systems covered, like astro signs, etc.

I love the pointy halo for an allegorical figure!  And she has her mirror for self-reflection and a wise, self-renewing snake.  (Only symbol missing is the old face and young face on same head, but I don’t think we need that!)

What is your weakness?  4 Wands

The only minor here today.  It’s a little bit too contained?  It doesn’t overflow with energy, it states its case quietly and practically.

I like this photo repro version because you can see where the original paper backs wrap around to be glued to the front of the cards.

What can you teach me?  Capricorn

Um, it’s going to teach me some astrology!  And responsibility.  Cap is cardinal earth, so it’s about acting in a practical or down-to-earth way.  More practicality to go with Prudence.

I guess some of the zodiac animals have staves to help them stand upright because they need to fit on the card shape?

How can I learn it?  Aries

By just doing it!  Reading on practical matters will help me to learn.  Cardinal fire to go with cardinal earth.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Fire

Wow, that’s a strong outcome!  I will use it, and it will be easy to use and be full of energy after all (notwithstanding what I said about the 4 Wands).  Maybe I’m the ingredient needed to break the deck out of its 4 box and let the fire burn!

Getting a little poetic here, but this all seems very encouraging!  Looking forward to more readings!

Thank you for the thread @fire cat pickles 🌻🐝

I'm back with the Russisches Orakel.

I typed and translated the key phrases from the companion book last week and want to move on to the rest of it this week with a new google translator app that should be quicker. 🥀
