A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in

I found myself unable to do readings with my chosen deck last week, Poppy Palin's The Everyday Enchantment Tarot, because the cards were sticking together and almost impossible to shuffle and deal.  HOWEVER due to your excellent suggestion about getting and using fanning powder, @fire cat pickles I was able to treat the whole deck (I finished last night) and it's now working beautifully.  YAY.

So if it's okay, I'd like to sign up again this week, to use the same deck for actual reading work.  If that's okay.  I'll post the readings and ruminations in my journal, rather than taking up so much space here on this thread.

Welcome back @Chariot! Glad the powder works 😀

I'm in with the Davis Paterson Celtic for yet again this week.

Thank you for the new thread, Fire cat!

This week I'll be using the Tarot of the Hidden Realm, created by Julia Jeffrey with Barbara Moore, and published by Llewellyn. I'll also be drawing from the Heart of Faerie Oracle created by Brian and Wendy Froud  and published by Abrams. Today's cards are the Five of Pentacles and the Thief:

Oh that my monk’s robe were wide enough
to gather up all the suffering people in this floating world

Cold and hungry, the elder of two fey sisters comforts the younger one. I am convinced that a person can get through almost any hardship if they know they have someone walking beside them on the journey. Of course it is best if this fellow traveler has certain qualities:
  • They neither blame nor shame, only support and encourage; they realize that this shoe could easily be on their own foot.
  • They don't try to get rid of their own discomfort with a quick fix; they do not employ toxic positivity or spiritual bypass. They allow feelings to be felt without sanctioning self-pity.
  • Instead of assuming to know what the other needs, they ask and try to supply it.
The Thief steals something we can't ever get back - our time. He tells us that we can put things off, postpone and procrastinate because we'll have time to get around to it. I'm sure we all know someone who could use our compassion and support now rather than later.

Loooove your reading this week, @Bodhiseed ♥

... also am looking forward to finding out how you, @Chariot are getting on with that deck 🙂

I myself will not have much time for Tarot this week but do mu daily draws with the Alchemical Garden Tarot.

It is quickly becoming one of my favorite decks 🙂

Hi, crew!  I’m back!  I was able to get a few readings in with my deck for last week, Cantigee Oracle.  They’re in my journal.

This week will be a fun and silly one:  Field Guide to Garden Dragons, artwork by Stanley Morrison, written by Arwen Lynch, US Games.  I was looking for a dragon deck that I like as much as the elemental dragons in the Druid Animal Oracle, but I found this one instead!  46 dragons designed to look like fruits and veggies, with keywords.  They warm my vegetarian soul!

On to the interview!

What is your most important characteristic?  Cranberry, Prosperity

The deck gives good financial readings.  It’s not a must-have but a fun-to-have for someone like me who has a collection budget.

What is your strength?  Tomato, Shine

I can almost smell him from here!  The deck is fun and attractive—shiny!  The artwork really carries it forward.

What is your weakness?  Turnip, Resilience

But it might not be one that we return to often for readings.  Maybe for vegetarian clubs?

What can I learn from you?  Cantaloupe, Realign

I don’t like melons, so I guess I can learn to learn from veggies that I don’t like in reality.  I can learn to look at things differently and maybe realign my likes and dislikes!

How can I learn it?  Radish, Growth

It’s never too late to change and grow.  Love the head sprouts!

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Apple, Health

That would be a great outcome!  I’ll turn to the deck for positive health readings.

I'm with my beloved Fairy Lights Tarot this week. Love the textured artwork and expressive brushstrokes 🙂
