Happy New Year!

A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Tarot de Pumariega.

One of my favorites!

Welcome to the group @Chiska 🙂

The DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.

Can I join with the Spacious Tarot? Only I will have to start from tomorrow, it is late here already. And I think it will mostly be the Cards of the Day, not something ambitious, if it is acceptable.

Welcome to the group @Eugenie!

Yes, we are very open to any level of participation here. Lately I've been using my deck once a week with my main weekly spread. Before that I was lucky to have time for any reading at all!

@fire cat pickles

This week I'll sign up properly😉

Continuing with Tattoo Tarot which I wish to explore if I actually like this deck or was just being a copy cat b/c my friend had it.

Thank you Fire cat, and welcome Chiska and Eugenie (and good to see you again Misterei!

This week I'll be using Lo Scarabeo's The Classic Tarot, with the original engravings of Carlo Della Rocca and printing by F. Gumppenberg Milan. I'll also be drawing from the Constellations Deck published by Carddia. Today's draws are the Six of Coins and Pyxis:

This is one of the most dangerous illusions. The moment we stand still, we begin to decay.
― Erich Fromm

The square of four coins and bloom in the middle of this card suggests stability, but the open ends and coins at the top and bottom suggest a 'coming and going.' Whether we're talking about investing, saving and spending or healthy habits, aging and lives of excess, nothing stands still. Stagnation does not equal safety. Instead, we stay aware, adapt and adjust, while embracing the coming and going. The constellation Pyxis is a small and faint group of stars in the southern sky. Abbreviated from Pyxis Nautica - Latin for a 'mariner's compass' - it suggests guidance when we feel surrounded by open sea and sky with no landmarks. We find ourselves here if we refuse to see life as it is and instead demand it be what we wish. But there is neither peace nor contentment to be found in these seas. Better to embrace navigational adjustment.

I have Lo Scarabeo Ancient Italian ... I had to watch a side by side flip through to understand the differences. Apparently Ancient Italian is a later version based on Carlo Della Rocca.

It's this one (with the side keywords I ignore!).

It must be the Carlo Della Rocca in the green box. That's the one I have, the one @Misterei mentions.

My New Year reading is here:

I drew a card of advice for today which can be seen here. A bit later today I hope to do a larger reading and also share a bit about the Spacious deck.

Hi all!  Wow what a big, fun group!  I'll be continuing with Arcana Stones and the 12 Days of Christmas.  (Then next week on to something new and different!)

As I am becoming closer with my Spacious Tarot deck, I start loving it more and more. My card for today makes total sense.

And here I was doing a spread to look into a family issue. I am not sure I haven't messed up the questions but you can still see the cards if interested.

The Spacious Tarot is a beautiful deck and I am glad you bought it, only it should not have been my first deck., because it was difficult for me to use it as a learning one. But I am happy to have it. I love walking alone (with a dog), looking at the landscapes and all the plants and other living creatures around and I don't mind seeing no people at all.

However, for studying and some readings I prefer my Centennial, because it is easy to reference in the books, and also because those archetypes are so easy to understand and feel. I love to be alone when I feel strong; when I need support, I like to be able to lean onto those figures in the RWS.

My today's reading for the day looked into the mind-body-spirit triad. It rings true. The Spacious Tarot deck is really growing on me, it is a pleasure to use.

So far, I am really enjoying the Tarot de Pumariega.  Vibrant colors, interesting images, and a remarkable depth.   I've had the deck about 10 years or so - no box, no LWB, no information.  I stuck it in a plain bag and forgot about it.  Perhaps this was fate?  I am not sure that I would have enjoyed it then as much as I do now.

It is a standard 78-card deck in the TdM style, but with a modern Spanish flair.   Published by Fournier in 1990.  A bit shocked at the prices shown on eBay. I got mine for about US $5.00.  Of course, no box, so that might explain that.

Yesterday's reading was on health. You can see some more of those cards. It is not easy for me to remember that a small Salamander can be a King.

@Chiska, what a stunning deck! Seems to be vibrating, it is so alive.
