Natural Mystic Guide Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 I am continuing to play with The Greenwood Tarot by Mark Ryan & Chesca Potter. I am now immersing myself in 'Walking the Labyrinth - A Companion to the Greenwood Tarot' and the PDF of the accompanying 'Chesca Potter inspirations for cards - Google slides' by @ilweran. Here is my 'Card(s) of the Day spell a la Susan Chang.
Bodhiseed Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 From the Sun and Moon Tarot, the Nine of Swords; from the Animal Tiles, Platypus: A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow. — Charlotte Bronte I've been waiting for daylight all night. It's not that I wasn't tired, but that I couldn't sleep. I'm a list maker, someone who's mind (when on autopilot) is constantly thinking, analyzing and categorizing. Insomnia is not new for me; I've learned that drugs rarely help. Instead, I steer it in other directions - I read a nonfiction book, or I think of pleasant things like ideas for the next library display or children's bulletin board. My mind obviously doesn't think these things are important, and I eventually drift off. Platypus is a shy mammal that looks like a cross between a duck and a beaver. It reminds me that I don't have to think or act like the rest of my family, I can embrace my uniqueness. That said, some time spent on my own while I'm with them this week will help me stay balanced.
Rachelcat Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 Hi, all! Happy Monday, and here's to a fun tarot week ahead! This week I’m going to use Lo Scarabeo’s Ancient Italian Tarot to put into use my own tarot astrological attributions. I attributed planets, signs, and elements to the majors and then focus on the minors as combinations of majors, for example, planetary major + elemental major = a pip card. The deck is a reproduction of a 19th century deck which I think is in turn a reproduction of the Soprafino deck by F. Gumppenberg, Milano 1835 (according to Il Meneghello). It has curved stylized swords, but they’re more recognizable as swords than a regular Marseille. And I’m not sure what the batons are supposed to be, but they’re elegant and entwined like in a Marseille. It’s kind of neat that it has the “Regno d’Italia” tax stamp reproduced on the Ace of Coins. So, to focus on astro attributions, I’ll probably do just a few cards a day and try to figure out if the majors-to-minors plan will work in the long run. And I’ll have fun using the Italian titles. But first, a regular interview! What is your most important characteristic? Fante di Danari = Il Mondo + La Ruota Its power is its beauty and its physical presentation. What is your strength? 6 Coppe = Il Sole + Gli Amanti It’s a cheerful, happy deck. Your weakness? 5 Bastoni = L’Imperatore + Il Giudizio But it comes in conflict with both Marseille and RWS decks! What can you teach me? 9 Danari = La Luna + Il Mondo The deck will teach me how to enjoy having my own stuff, even if other people don’t understand. How can I learn it? 10 Spade = Il Mondo + L’Appeso By overthinking it! By allowing myself to be overwhelmed by ideas and opposition, but going with it anyway. What will be the outcome of our work together? Regina di Bastoni = Il Carro I’ll sit softly and carry a big stick! I’ll feel justified in pursuing my own way of doing things. We’ll see about all that!
fire cat pickles Posted March 24, 2025 Author Posted March 24, 2025 Welcome back @Natural Mystic Guide, @Bodhiseed, and @Rachelcat!
Christina Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 I'm in with Bonefire Tarot and Wisdom of the Oracle cards!
Elaina Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 I fizzled out on the zombie tarot last week. I've been out of reading for a while and middle age means I need to step back and punt. I'm going back to basics. Doodle tarot (meanings are more modern) and a RWS meaning tarot, which has more archaic meanings. And this is where I am going to pause for a few weeks. Meaning decks and apps.
xTheHermitx Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 I would also like to join this week to continue my read on my job situation. Still using the RWS. This is motivating me to look at my cards more often and consistently!!!
fire cat pickles Posted March 26, 2025 Author Posted March 26, 2025 Well I'm changing it up again... Thanks to @Rose Lalonde and her wonderful Club, Decan Walk 2025/26, I am switching to Liber T Tarot of Stars Eternal for a while.
