Sigil CW for second photo.

For a long while there, my tarot area was just my desk. I could really make it look good with the right angle and crop on the photo (see: photo 1), but I was basically having to clear a little square of space every time, and sometimes couldn't manage to clear enough space for what I needed. I certainly didn't have enough room for some of my big cloths (Looking at you, TWU Spirit Cloth!).

So I downsized my DVD collection, stored the remainder elsewhere, got rid of the bookshelves and got a proper, dedicated desk in their place. And yup, it's IKEA as well. I've spent a week and a half painting and decorating it, though it probably could still do with a coat of varnish to protect the design I've done. I created a sigil in the centre of the table to help with my divination. It's so nice to have a space I don't need to clear every time I want to divine! And it looks alright in photos! And it's just big enough for my biggest tarot cloth plus a few gemstones or statues or candles!

The third photo is how it would look during a reading. I like that the sigil is, generally speaking, going to be "my little secret", all covered up by tarot cloths during most photographs :D I'm looking forward to growing and maturing the table, adding various things (that my cat can't knock over easily) to the non-reading space on the table and making it my own.

This is my Tarot space.  It is in my music room, where I keep all my personal stuff:

Oh, how I wish my space was this need. My bf is a luthier and I literally have a woodshop in my living room. We have all types of stringed instruments (including a lute!) in various states of completion. I don't even know how many guitars we own. Only one dobro type though.  I'm in the process of cleaning out a walk-in closet for a meditation space.  I'm out of town right now but I'll post a picture when I get back home.

TheLittleJackal[/member] your table is wonderful!!  I think it's very secretive too knowing what lies under your altar cloth!!  8)

I'm back home and can post a picture now. This is basically two altars worth of stuff crammed into the space between two doors. We had a relative move to town and they stayed with us for a while so we cleaned out our little meditation room for them. Everything here has meaning but I'll give TL;DR version.

Books: The search for wisdom and enlightenment.

Vessels: Family heirlooms from Persia which represent our ancestors and the traditional foundations upon which we build.

Jar of picks: The music of the universe.

Small Alcohol Bottles: Libations and the importance of celebrating life.

The Goddess: Was found by a dumpster and I don't know who she is. She represents the forgotten knowledge.

Most of the individual pieces have meanings as well such as corresponding to elements, or the hanging oil lamps representing light (of course).

PS: Not a photographer. I can't hold a camera straight. :P

My bedside altar. Not really tarot related, but definitely sacred space. :D

It is an 'active altar' that reminds me of things to do before I go to sleep. The mala beads remind me to meditate. The 'resilience' stone is my word for the year. The brass feather and glass heart are a reminder to do a daily review of my actions and words (my belly flops and my swan dives). The Hotei figure ('laughing buddha') is to remember what warmed my heart or made me smile that day (gratitude). The ladybug and the crab are reminders to bless those who are suffering - both those easy to love and those who aren't. The picture of the natural mandala is to remember my personal compass (in my case, the Five Precepts).

Everyone has such pretty spaces! I live in a really small apartment with my mom her boyfriend, my boyfriend and my brother, so I don't have space for a space at this moment. When my boyfriend and I move out I'll be able to show off something nice I hope.

When our house was full of kids, there wasn't any spare space. I bought a breakfast tray, covered it with a pretty cloth , and put a few items on it that had meaning for me. I kept it under my bed and pulled it out when I wanted some sacred space and time. :heartz:

We had a large closet that I cleaned out the floor space of. It's long and narrow but big enough to fit a cot, which lives up on the shelf. When we don't have company, that's my space. Before that it behind a piece of furniture that sat in a corner diagonally.

@AnomalyTempest and @Bodhiseed your spaces are awesome!  Thank you so much for the piccies! :herz:

I have 2 pics today of my new corner.  My tarot cards are all over in the next room.  If I want to do pictures of the cards I go over there and leave the computer.  I have to write everything out there by hand.  Now if I want to participate in some of the threads that need cards, I'll have them at hand.  It also opened up some room in my corner.  I've once again outgrown my shelves and had to move some deck elsewhere, like on my NEW shelf!  One of my cats sleeps on my printer next to me and he's checking out the new shelf.  But he loves playing among my decks, he's one of the few cats I allow back there with them when I'm working.

I had this altar set up for a ritual I did this weekend to coincide with the Full Moon. The flowers are now a few days old and when the wind was blowing through the open windows today, it starting blowing the petals from the flowers around the altar. I thought it was lovely! Here's my space! To me, it feels like a mini museum with several mini exhibits. When you initially look at the space, you can't even tell I'm into tarot! My tarot decks are all wrapped in their beautiful bags and housed in the two card catalogs, both of which were vintage finds at local thrift and vintage shops (one for a mere $2.50!). I also have two framed mini prints by Emily Balivet of Strength and Queen of Pentacles.

So this is essentially my space. For jewellery making, writing, computer stuff and, of course, tarot. My box with the decks I use is down to the left of the bureau. Behind it is my display cabinet with crystals and other pretty things in. They're in the dining room along with my husband's hobby stuff.

In the living room is a bookcase full of tarot and oracle decks  (and five bookcases of various books. I have a lot of books.). There's all sorts scattered about though. Statues of Kali, Isis, Shiva and so on, rocks, crystals, wands, a chalice. I'd take photos but we're in a chaotic mess at the moment 😂

Ooh, I see there is a system in place here! Lots of interesting organizing tools 😊💖

There is more stuff than I know what to do with 😂 I have tidied up since I took that photo, but sitting here now I realise it's made little apparent difference! Still, it's my space. A scarf over it and its great for tarot readings, cutting mat out and I'm ready for papercraft, and so on. When I'm finished I close it and some of the mess at least is out of view - and with a lock, small fingers are kept away from sharp pointy things.

I don't really have one specific place for an altar. I have little "puddles" of altar stuff here and there around my house (which is actually a big RV). I'm a very spiritual person but not religious and having a set place for an altar seems "religious" to me. My growing up years with a Christian cult experience along the way here and there is why religiosity bothers me.  I respect the beliefs and make absolutely no judgment of others it works for and I think it's wonderful if that's what helps them spiritually. I just have my Higher Power and that entity is always with me wherever I am, so I really don't consider one special place to be sacred like that. I wear some of my spiritual pieces, have some where I spend a lot of time spent on the computer, and then by my bed in my room. I'll take some photos and post them in the next day or two if anyone is curious.

I can relate. I have no fixed altar space either. I grew up in a non-religious home and the only sacred space we had was like an ancestor veneration shelf with pictures and sentimental items.

Ilweran, I love your space. I'm lots like you are. I live in an RV and there's a lot of storage in it because it's a larger RV but I still have tons of stuff that's just piled around my work spaces. I know where everything is that way and it's within easy reach. I don't understand how people can be extremely tidy if they're into crafting, writing, telling fortunes, art and such. I have a mobility issue so I like having things where I don't have to run around getting what I need out of the storage place it's in.  If I put everything away all the time, I wouldn't be able to find anything. lol  If it's all in a nearby pile, I can go right to what I want.

Thank you Grizabella.  I like that way of looking at it! I do need to have lots of bits and bobs in reach when jewellery making, and my husband is the same with his miniature painting. We have a lot of clutter between us, then add in a 6 year olds toys and my lack of enthusiasm for tidying up when there are so many more interesting things to do... 😅

I LOVE seeing your spaces!!! I finally updated my video of my Witchy Room (the last one was 2 years ago, on June 2017).

So, there you go (but sorry in advance for the motion sickness, I'm no cameraman!)
