Recently, I snuck an Altar into our communal space - the lounge.

Paradise!

Thank you!!!  Every morning and throughout the day, really, I give thanks for living in Bali.  Beauty -- like lots of lovely flowers, just fall out of the sky and I put them on my altar!  Bali is a very supportive environment for doing spiritual and magical work.  When are you coming to Bali?

Amazing altars! Recently I have a small altar to Hekate set up but it kept getting knocked over or messed with - especially the white votive candle. Has anyone else had experiences like that?

Nope.  Where is your Altar?  Any photo to share?

If you're suggesting spirit interference - I cannot help you.  I am spirit blind for starters - & things like that never happen to me.

I see you have a cat Avatar - do you have a cat and could it be THEM?    🙃

Post a separate thread asking about this so as not to veer off us seeing THE PHOTOS...

I had that beautiful Tarot Nook in the big house ... it was soooo perfect. I mourn the loss *sigh*.

Here ... things are still evolving. My office isn't properly set-up yet so thank god business is slow.

My collection is in my bedroom and its super cozy for personal readings.

I need to get my office and client reading room properly set up pretty quickly ... New Year's business will pick up.

But here's my temporary solution - complete with cat - it is in all its chaotic, messy glory.

@Misterei this is a lovely room! I wish I could spend some time there. I love that it is light colored and "rustic" and has natural fabrics and feels friendly, not the dark "mysterious" type.

Thank you!

Rustic is the word even though it's in a city. The floor is 100 years old and was in awful condition ... so I painted it [back when I was stronger].

I also painted the little table next to my bed.

The painting was done by my mother ... I need to hang it ... not sure where yet.

LOL my LIFE itself is often dark and mysterious ... I want my home to be safe and light and relaxing.

I love seeing your cabinets and other Tarot spaces. More to follow from me. But here we also seem to Tarot in public spaces. As seen in a side street in Dublin.IMG_3824.thumb.jpeg.46f21aaa83bd959e6b4e7cfa997b66b8.jpeg

OMG!!!

Thank you for sharing. Tarot graffiti ... it's the coolest thing EVER.

@BrightEye, awesome! Thank you for posting this!

Reading Room is DONE!!!!

Sharing this major milestone with my Tarot fam ... after months of upheaval and chaos with the move ... fending off in-person clients ... the reading room is DONE and I saw my fist in-person client here today.

this shot shows my brand art. The picture in the middle was given by a friend but the smaller pieces are collages I made. Sarawati and Laxmi. The peacock is Saraswati's mount.

What it looks like when I'm actually reading a client. Wide-angle makes it a bit wonky ... LOL do the clients experience altered states of consciousness here?

Congratulations! What a success! I wish I could stop by and hang out in your reading room 🥰

That's beautiful, a peaceful space with a very spiritual feeling.

I love this thread so much. Just looking at it is a wonderful experience.

Thanks. I worked hard to create a vibe ... glad it shows through.

This thread is such a nice space to share our spaces with likeminded folk.

I finally got around to viewing this Whole thread! Wow, am I impressed with everyone's sacred spaces and reading areas! (I have ONE ukulele, c. 1966! 3 guitars though.)

Being married to a pack rat just like myself, I never had space for an actual altar or dedicated reading space; I'd put up temporary altars for the occasional ritual and would read on the bed. That is, until hubby stopped being able to sleep in the bedroom and then half the bed became storage, which I blush to admit it still is; now I read on whatever bit of surface I can find. Sacred or meaningful objects, however, including statues, have been placed all around the apartment, a little something in every room that would look at first glance just like any other decorative objects, and there are a few of those too. I only have what amounts to a memorial altar right now, since hubby passed last summer: his ashes and a photo, and some things that meant something to him or to us as a couple. It's still a work in progress. It's in the living room next to his much-loved (and insanely comfortable) recliner.

I have a ton of cr@p to get rid of, though, most of it my own doing, but I still have a lot of his stuff to weed out as well, and when that's done I hope to have some space where I can set up a reading and spiritual area in the bedroom. All the decks are there already, and the pertinent books that I can find, so it makes sense.

I had decided to devote this Halloween day to cartomancy. Business has been horribly slow but the Universe kindly sent me a paying client today [thank you]

Here's what it looks like when an on-line appointment is done 😉 Gotta make sure all the decks go back into their correct boxes!

That blue bag on the left of the top shelf of the altar... that's a tarot deck.

Such a beautiful and sacred space, @BradGad. Thank you for sharing.

What a great space! Is that a skylight above?

Thank you both.

@Morwenna … It’s the “notch” from a dormer window in my bedroom… the light is coming from an east-facing window.

For years, that narrow space was awkward and wasted, until I hit upon this.

As you can tell, my altar is quite the hodge-podge… different aspects of spirituality have been important to me at different phases of my life. I’ve come to embrace this… I call it my “braided path”… accepting that what happened to me today, yesterday, last year, ten years ago, all go into making me who I am now, and perhaps ready for whatever comes next.

The exact contents and layout of the altar changes pretty much day-to-day… It might be fun to take a daily photo, and then go back and see how it changes over time.

This sounds like an interesting idea. 🙂
