A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at any time—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Participants

  1. fire cat pickles: TdM Hadar
  2. Bodhiseed: Shadowscapes Tarot paired with a Cedar Runes Set

I'm in this week (as much as jury duty will allow) with the Shadowscapes Tarot and a set of Cedar Runes. Thank you Fire cat!💓

Real giving is done from a place of true generosity and because we have an excess of something to offer (time, support, energy). It tends to be an impulse we don’t have to overthink. And the giving leaves us feeling good and energized.
—Andrea M. Darcy

Tis the season of giving, as all the TV ads and social media tell us. Yet this dragon has curled around his treasure with his wings used as a cover. Is this response a prudent protection or miserly tightfistedness? People often use generosity to boost their self-esteem, wanting to feel appreciated and loved or less guilty. Yet this is not sincere altruism because it comes with expectations that often leave us wanting. Algiz ("elk") represents protection and suggests that it is okay to save some time, energy and money for our own needs. Creating imbalances isn't beneficial for anyone.

Hi Everyone♥

This week I will use my Tarot Familiars

a deck i got while travelling a few years ago.

I do not use it very often. It gas a mix of animal images for the Mayors and Courts and Pips for the minors.

Posted

Card of the day:

Strenghts - a white Wolf laying on a moon-lit rock looking confident and relaxed.

Today there is  a minor issue, where I most certainly have st show strength and just firmly "stick to my guns" - or better principals.

A Challenge: 10 of Wands:

yes, this is a matter of creativity and change and a bit of an uphill battle, but will be well worth it when accomplished.

And - as a bonus - conclude that matter for good.

Outcome:

The Moon:

A Hare in Spring on a meadow in bloom: yes, this issue will affect our next spring.

The Moon Hare stands for inspiration and creativity, fertile imagination, but also attentiveness and caution.

It is not lost to me, that the Wolf in my Card of the day also rests in the light of the full moon and so carries these atributes.

Hare and Wolf are lboth looking to the right = into the future.

All good things to have!

Hi crew!  I finally made it!  This week I’m going to cheat a little bit to cross off several decks from my “not yet used as deck of the week” list.  I’m going to use all of my remaining historical lenomands, four of them.  (That still leaves seven lenormands I haven’t used yet!  The joke on me remains that I “only” have 21 lenormands, and I don’t read lenormand.)

I can’t find anywhere the original publication date of my Piatnik.  Please let me know if you know!  There’s a slightly different Piatnik version on The Cartomancer with the date guessed from the Victorian fashion.  My Lady has a different fashion, but I can’t figure out if it’s earlier or later, maybe Regency? (which would be earlier).

I’ll use each one of these twice this week (eight total because I do both an interview and a regular reading for Mondays):

The Game of Hope the First Lenormand c. 1799

Mlle Lenormand Blue Owl with playing card insets, Urania (1846)

Dutch Lenormand c. 1868

Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy Deck, Piatnik (??)

I’ll probably use the 5 or 7 card line pairs spread this week, but let’s start at the beginning with an interview with The Game of Hope the First Lenormand c. 1799.  I like that it has both German and French suits.  Not that I use the playing card meanings for readings; I just like to see German-suited cards.

Monday1.thumb.jpg.865716a5c69f6ebe50b5239b6b6898ed.jpg

What is your most important characteristic?  Letter

It’s just a deck of cards.  OR it has messages for me.

What is your strength?  Rider

It talks about change and movement.

Your weakness?  Sun

It’s not all happiness and joy.

What can you teach me?  Moon

I’ll learn what all the lenormand hype is about.  (Moon as reflected glory.)  And how to better use my imagination to read it.

How can I learn it?  Heart

By falling in love with lenormand finally.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Mountain

I’ll still have a mental block about reading lenormand.  Go figure.

All very meta but interesting.

@Mi-Shell

There is *something about the Strength +10 of Wands combo that I identify with. Maybe it's a pairing that I get often in readings, idk.

There's a lot of fire/heat going on here. Energy that rushes in all at once and then, poof,  the watery Moon changes (phases) it all into a new, different direction for you (us). The Moon is one of *my cards, being Cancerian,  and another reason I felt the need to chime in. Leo/Strength is my Moon sign. Sagittarius (10 of Wands) is in my South Node. Some karmic balance coming into focus to watch out for?

Hi and ♥Thank You, @fire cat pickles!

That is a wonderful interpretation!

You know, that (bec. of following in the traditions of my indigenous Siberian upbringing...) I do not go for / pay any heed to the European star symbols. They do not jive with the star lore of our - or the NA star lore- which are very similar and in part almost identical.

you are right, I should - when it comes to Tarot.... as  astrology is seen as a building block of Tarot.....

I find it auspicious, that you discribe the Moon as being Your Moon Sign! 🙂 I always have seen the Moon card with its full Moon as my Power card - as I usually do Medicine Prayers, trance work, ceremony and the like in the night of the Full Moon.

My B-day is Dec. 21 = The Winter Solstice and very auspicious for tribal people of many cultures. THAT is Sagittarius? right?

I love talking to you about this!

Love!

M.
