fire cat pickles Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 I'm still in with Ship of Fools, and hanging in pretty well with the Card-a-Day... New Years Blessings to all! @Libra 58 I am sorry this is a difficult time of year for you. It seems this is a time of year for loss for many. We are here is you need anything.
Mi-Shell Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Hi ALL and Blessings!♥ For my b-day I received The Enchanted Förhäxa Tarot. This is, what I want to explore for the time coming. It is a collage deck with all fairies For me, that will be 2 big stumbling blocks - Especially after quite a few years using mostly decks with all Animals or Plants - no Humans in the images..... Now, fairies are not Humans, but.... So, let's see... 🙂
Libra 58 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 @fire cat pickles Thank you very much, but it´s part of life and we all have to live through it. I´m in with Hanson - Roberts.
fire cat pickles Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 (edited) Welcome back @Libra 58! Just today this popped up in my memories on Facebook! No coincidence I think: Edited January 5 by fire cat pickles
Christina Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Count me in! I'll be using Tarot and Oracle of Mystical Moments 🙂
fire cat pickles Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 Welcome @Christina! I can't remember if you've been here before... If not, the DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members. If you have, welcome back 🙂
Bodhiseed Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) I'm in with the Spacious Tarot paired with the Phenomena Oracle - thank you, Fire cat! Posted 3 minutes ago Spacious Tarot, the Tower; Phenomena Oracle, Landslide Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too —Stevie Nicks Used to mark a well-worn path, a cairn is blasted apart by lightning. We enjoy life when we know what to expect and can prepare for it. As Stevie sings, we build our lives around people and things that give us a sense of security and stability. Yet impermanence and change can alter our lives in drastic ways, as Landslide indicates. Pema Chodron calls this natural occurrence groundlessness. But instead of scrambling to hang on to the old, she advises we look fear right in the eye, "not as a way to solve problems, but as a complete undoing of old ways of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and thinking." In this way, we might transform a breakdown into a breakthrough. Edited January 6 by Bodhiseed
Libra 58 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 My Monday card was: "Judgment". I really don´t know what this card means! Am I judged for the way I live my life or is it a statement over last year, what I should have done and didn´t? Do it all again and do better or just move on? Tuesday my card is: "King of Pentacles". This King is not happy, he looks like he´s about to start crying! This beautiful pentagram he is holding in his left hand don´t do a thing for him. He´s not even looking at it! He looks more like he´s miles away in his dreams from the throne he sits in. A King who is dreaming that he is somewhere else, except there at the throne. Or maybe he´s trying to find a solution on a major problem? That I can relate to, always dreaming about being somewhere else or being an other person. Thinking of problems in my life, that I would like to find an answer to.
Rachelcat Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Great group this week! I'm back but late! This week for me will be Rune Cards by Ralph Blum, the natural items collage version by Gabrielle Gern. The title page of the little hardback book (which interpretations I won’t be using!) reads Rune Cards: Sacred Play for Self-discovery, Commentary by Ralph Blum, Cards illustrated by Garielle Gern. Text and illustrations copyright Ralph Blum, 1989, 1997, 2001. This edition copyright Eddison Sadd Editions 2003. Blum popularized runes back in the day, but, following that, others chimed in with more historically accurate interpretations. For example, the numbering on the cards is out of the currently “accepted” order of the runes. And the keywords can be a bit odd. And unfortunately, he also popularized using a blank rune in readings, which I won’t be doing. But the illustrations are cool! So let’s give them a try with a short interview. What is your strength? Manaz Even though runes are tied to a certain culture, they are universally applicable to humans. Your weakness? Isa On the other hand, they can also seem stuck in that culture. They aren’t really action-oriented. What can I learn from you? Jera Things are always changing, cyclically or not. And you reap what you sow. That’s two (or three!) things from one rune! What will be the outcome of our work together? Ihwaz This is defense but also the death card. I will continue to defend using my own interps. And maybe when the week is over, I will let the deck go??!
Libra 58 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Wednesday card was: "Judgment", again! Something is still wrong and I have to change it, but what? I have many things that needs to change in my life, but I´m to tired and ill to start something new now. It just have to wait. Thursday card is "Four of Swords". Rest! I need to rest and built up more strength, before I can do any changes.
fire cat pickles Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 (edited) Judgement twice! The cards definitely have something to say. For me when the final card in the deck shows up, it isn't so much of a finger pointing "I told you so" but as a reminder that there needs to be a turning of the page or a closing of the book. After all, the next card in the Fool, the beginning of something new. Perhaps the cards are telling you to let go of something, "Let Go and Let God" as the saying goes. Sometimes it's easier for us to be hard on ourselves. I know I am my own worst self-critic but rarely interpret the Judgement card literally as judgment. Edited January 8 by fire cat pickles
Libra 58 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I draw two extra cards on the matter and I got "The Emperor" and "Four of Swords", again. Emperor says: "That I already have the answer and knows what to do". Four of Swords repeat: Rest, there is nothing you can do without strength.
Libra 58 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Friday card was: "The Chariot" . Positiv and negative thoughts about how my future will be. I have to start moving my life into a more pleasant place in my thoughts, staying in negative thoughts don´t make my life better. Saturdays card was: "Queen of Cups". Take care of myself and love what there is to love about my life. Sundays card is: The Empress". If I start take care of myself, I will grow strong and healthy and my life will be better. Strong cards, but difficult to follow for me since I don´t have the strength to start now. I need time to heal what´s wrong at the moment before I get into more hard work.
