Bodhiseed Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) Thank you Fire cat! I'm in with the Morgan Greer Tarot paired with the Celtic Book of the Dead. g Morgan Greer Tarot, King of Swords; Celtic Book of the Dead, Sea of Glass If you want to assert a truth, first make sure it’s not just an opinion that you desperately want to be true. ― Neil deGrasse Tyson The King of Swords is an intellectual authority, an advocate of truth, and a promoter for logic and reason. He knows truth can change as investigation uncovers more information, but he is very much aware of how personal beliefs, emotions, and desires can muddy the waters. As Tyson stated, "If your personal beliefs deny what's objectively true about the world, then they're more accurately called personal delusions." The Sea of Glass was a portion of the journey when the ocean's bottom could be seen clearly by the sailors. It asks us to be willing to discern fact from fiction, regardless of how we want or think things should be. Edited March 2 by Bodhiseed

Rachelcat Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) And hi everyone! This week for me will be The Alchemy Stones. I’ve had them for a long time but just decided I need to try to read with them. Since they’re not cards, I won’t be narrowing down the decks I need to read with, but that’s ok. As you see in the attached, they are 28 frosted glass “drops” with alchemical symbols stamped in gold. I’ve come up with attributions that are different than the author’s. For full disclosure, anything alchemical I know I learned from The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Alchemy by Dennis Hauck (and Hauck’s website). I’ve read other books, but Hauck’s is the only one that has stuck with me at all. My attributions are based on three sections—ingredients, operations, and elements—each with a beginning thing, 7 things divided into 4 then 3, and a result. Plus one extra stone that slips in between the 4s and 3s. Some are accepted glyphs like the metals/planets and elements of course, along with prima materia, fermentation, alembic, and athanor (the furnace, my calcination). Others I think were made up by the author, which I reassigned. I’m not sure how I’m going to read with them, but I’ll just wing it and see what happens. First a short interview for a smallish set. What is your strength? Fermentation I took what was pretty much unusable (rotten) and am trying to make something better (intoxicating?!) from it. Your weakness? Silver It’s pretty but not quite the best it could be. Or it’s a little too mysterious for regular use (moon). What can I learn from you? Gold I can learn something of value that won’t tarnish over time. What will be the outcome of our work together? Philosophical mercury Fermentation and philosophical mercury are both first stones of the 3s of their rows. Not sure what that means, but they have something in common. I will learn something of spiritual importance, not just something interesting or fun. Ok, well, we’ll see about that! Tanga Posted March 3 Posted March 3 The Quiet Rebel Tarot. @Bodhiseed what a magnificent King of Swords! I should dig out that deck again. The 1st reading I ever received was with that deck. And I later found out what deck it was by looking for "decks with stars on the back". Whoops - my cat's complaining that I'm not in bed... So I'll draw some cards later.
fire cat pickles Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 Welcome to the group @Tanga! The DOTW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.

Tanga Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) So... 3 card draw "Freedom From Spreads" The card that catches your eye most is the subject & the other 2 cards are the commentary on it. I drew a 4th card from The Quiet Rebel Oracle as a closing statement. 1) The Subject 3 OF PENTS My "work in progress" for this week.... some of it involves sorting stuff out for other people that "we" have agreed on. 2) My eye then wonders to JUDGEMENT - me, judging myself, because my "work in progress" is NOT going to my plan. Sigh. Yesterday it occurred to me that perhaps I should have chosen this week off as a holiday instead of a project week. 3) 6 OF WANDS - Victory as I would like to see it has not come to pass yet. ARRGGGGGHHHHHHH! However - the reason being I am unwell. Lol. The antibiotics I had a couple of weeks ago have created a side effect that needs more treatment with herbs etc. And I'm more tired than I would "normally" be (for me). So... I've been snoozing in the afternoons, instead of working. Hey Ho. 4) The oracle card draw of FLUIDITY - echoes an animal omen I read this week - which also told me to let go of rational though/plans, and "go with the flow". More snoozing then. And more drinking of plenty of water. I was not feeling uplifted by this message (i.e. still resisting the reality that my week is really not going to plan), so I decided it was time to take out my Spirit Guide communication deck, which is - The Really Badly Drawn Tarot... * @fire cat pickles You might want to add these to my Tarot listing. Quiet Rebel Oracle & The Really Badly Drawn Tarot. And listen through the eyes of my guides - who always have black and ironic humour that makes me LOL. Guide 5 - THE UNICORN = I will not stoop to comment at this time. Spring is here! Guide 1 - The DEVIL = Oh yesssssss, so youuuuu are feeling all stuck and trapped by your conditions. Ohhhhh my gooodnesss meeee (read this with a wildly exagerated silly voice). So, why don't you just take down that whip already! 🤪 Guide 3 - 9 OF PENTACLES = I wouldn't worry about it. Bide your time (as you have planned) - you'll soon go back to feeling like you're in perfect control. Guide 4 - 5 OF SWORDS = Hey you've gotta look after yourself (Flip em' !!! - particularly the phone calls). Guide 5 - PAGE OF PENTACLES = Nem-mind (never mind). I could blab on about lessons & whatnot, but... Think of the new stuff you're in process of learning this year 💡. Ahhhhhh. I feel much better now. Edited March 4 by Tanga
