queenofwans[/member] those are lovely storage boxes!!  I'm surprised that top one holds so much!  ^-^

Thanks!! Yes, it holds quite a lot, and I even have space for a few more ;)

I love the storage chest idea. So pretty!

I have a fairly modest collection, so I'm able to store all of my tarot decks in a chest. I keep the decks in their original boxes, unless the box is a larger box, and then in that case, I keep them in a drawstring pouch.

The one exception is my Fairytale Tarot, which I keep in this beautiful little book box that I got for a mere $4 at a discount home-goods store. Fits perfectly -- thematically and size-wise!

I got the storage chest at the same home-goods store as the book box, and the chest was around $14 -- inexpensive, pretty, and functional!

After some trial and error -- involving fiddly boxes and stunning bespoke pouches -- I've settled on using sheer organza drawstring bags for most of my decks. Some of the bespoke pouches you can buy on eBay are stunning but they have their own distinct energy while the deck they house is totally suffocated. So, not for me. Sheer organza lets the energy of the deck shine through while also providing colour and protection. The bond you have with each deck is energetically just "there" when you hover your hand over it, which helps with deck selection given a question. I find either of two sizes works well with standard-sized decks: 17x23cm if you want to store the deck horizontally, pouch opening side up, or 13x18cm if vertical. The price is also reasonable-- unless you want every one of almost two dozen colours. 😂

As a pragmatist, I have most of my 70-odd decks stored in see-through plastic hobby bins with hinged, snapping covers from Michael's. I've had them that way for several years and have had no trouble with moisture. I do have a few nice wooden boxes for several of my favorite decks and a couple of decidedly "not fancy" cloth bags, but in general the bins work well for me since I can see at a glance what's in them and they stack easily.

Well, as a non pragmatist ☺️ I like it when things are both visually appealing and nicely organized. I recently moved my collection into an old glass cabinet that one of my relatives built back in the 1960s. I really like that I can view things easily but that I can also lock the doors.

I don’t keep the actual decks standing up, just the lids or the empty boxes. Some decks will get warped from standing up too long.

@queenofwans yes, but they are crammed full now....sigh

*sorry/not sorry*

Funny how that seem to always happens. My theory is that they multiply behind ones back whenever we leave the room ☺️

I’m hoping to reopen this discussion and get some ideas what to do with mine. Currently they are running wild in the house and there’s a few I can’t locate. I was thinking about a much more humble version of what @Raggydoll has. I hope my bookshelves are deep enough to put the deck in front of the empty box like she’s done.  It would be great if the Tarot books also fit but I doubt it. I’ve bought way to many I haven’t read yet. I need to declutter more of them- lol.

I have paired down my collection now and I’m very happy about that. I am probably going to declutter even more. I enjoy having just my true favorites. Good luck with your project, and I’d love to see pictures 😍

If your bookshelf isn't deep enough you could simply store the empty boxes elsewhere - in my system I have a small shelf for my decks on an old computer desk (not used for a computer anymore) and I store the boxes in the cubby hole at the bottom.

Being a fan of Cardcaptor Sakura, I really wanted to keep my tarot deck in a "storage book" like the Clow Book for Clow Cards.

So, I bought a "book box" off Amazon, and made an insert tray perfectly sized for the tarot deck, with a lift ribbon to retrieve the cards easily.

I can put it inconspicuously on the shelf like a regular book too.

And a "family photo" with my Clow/Sakura book collection.

Space is at a premium in our house, so most of my decks are in a series of stacked plastic drawers. I put them in pouches to protect the boxes, but as previously mentioned the bags have their own energy--also in a larger deck collection, even buying relatively inexpensive pouches that gets pricey. Maybe, half my decks are bagged at this point.

I must say that I am so jealous of how neat this collection looks. My glass cabinet is a total mess compared to this! You are an inspiration to get mine looking this organized.
