Seriously, it's a really awesome card as it is. I confess I don't normally go for 'modern' styles of art... but you know what? Geoxena's right on this one. I love it!

I love the muted colours, the sense of despondency in the adult's shoulders and that bright patch of flowers. 🙂 Ditto, I agree! Well done! See you only had to tweak it a little not walk away from your concept

Grandma Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Oh my goodness I just came home to find this series of comments. I'm on the floor! But wait - it's an old joke but I'll say it again - am I overcome with laughter or have I fallen and I can't get up? And @Wanderer thank you and please join us for popcorn!

It is a company that prints decks on demand and anyone will be able to purchase a copy of this deck. You can find more information in the thread that I linked. So you may want to share that link with them and have them look at the project and then see if they wish to participate 🙂 Ah yes -- I should have remembered that. Thanks, Raggydoll!

Wonderful art collages, @Grandma! Thanks for posting them together like this, I got behind on this thread and lost my train of thought, but wanted to give you a big thumbs-up!! So much to consider with that 5 pents especially. Both cards will offer great depth to readings. Kudos!
Grandma Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Thank you @Day Soleil! This means so much coming from you - you know what a fan I am of your art. My last card is the Nine of Air. It will be the simplest, most direct, and darkest, with none of the redemption that balances the negative qualities of the other two. It will be kinda scary!
Grandma Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 This is what I've got so far for the Nine of Air. The spacing of the various pieces needs adjusting and I wonder if the facial expression is anguished enough? Unlike my other two cards I'm not trying to convey any specific message. It's dealer's choice. I just want to portray a nightmare quality. Am I close yet? Any and all constructive criticism and friendly feedback invited.

I see pain coming from all angles, there is no getting away from it. It is sh#$ storm, a lot of emotional pain. But I have to admit that I am confused by the symbolism of the 3 Medusa Heads.

Hmmmm the biggest is a reference to the person sitting up in bed in the RWS version, and the others are two more people who are not surviving. What should I change? How about just the face?

I really love the daggers and the stormy background! I quite like the big Medusa head but I’m thinking that it’s face could perhaps be altered in color. Maybe it could have some of that orange tone in facial features?

Now it looks a bit like Humpty Dumpty to be honest 😊. I preferred it with the snakes!

That's so funny! How about this? It's as though the person's pain is so intense that looking at her will turn the viewer to stone.

So barring any adjustments suggested by @geoxena and the other talented artists who have helped me so much, I will adjust the positions a little and send you the file. My work here will be done. (Unless there are unclaimed cards and people are eventually invited to choose a fourth.) By the way, have you had a chance to check my Five of Cups to see if meets specs?

I must admit that I forgot about the five of cups! I will write a note to myself and if I don’t fall asleep when tucking my kids in tonight then I’ll look at it afterwards 👍👍

Ok with just the one head it actually speaks to a huge fear of mine, being thrown in a pit of snakes! 😱 ... this card is perfect for the nightmare card of the deck. Knives, snakes, horrid storms, it really conveys the fear and nightmares. Great job! 👍 Edited February 7, 2020 by Jewel
geoxena Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) @Grandma, I think it's perfect. I like that you're using Medusa, as she was tormented herself. She was beautiful before she was cursed with the snake hair and then forced to live alone in a cave. Medusa, to me, means someone who is so utterly tormented and has so much pain inside that they lash out, torment others, or create miserable situations for anyone around them. . I can always remind you again in a day or two if you lose the note. I remember how exhausting it is with small children.
