Here's the Elder of Fire - I think she's finished, although she may need a tweak or two. I've trimmed the bleed off, so this is more or less what will be seen on the card.

Elder of Fire

Although an Elder, she is full of energy, fire and a passion that can be felt the moment she walks into a room. She balances the creative fire between her palms and it seems to some like magic – how does she do this? She is unafraid to walk the fire, to take risks that others wouldn't contemplate, and her charisma and confidence draw admirers and followers, although there are others who are antagonistic towards her and suspect her power. This is a lady who will do as she likes and who cares little for the opinions of others.

I totally agree with all the comments, @geoxena - that's a very hard expression to get right, and it comes across immediately. I honestly don't know how you folks can draw faces so perfectly...

Well, she's had several different eyes, chins, and ears, and about 30 layers of color applied for her skin tone until I got it right!  If plastic surgery was as easy as redrawing, I'd be rich from just this card.  But thank you!  Many here have been so encouraging, and that helps, too!

Wow, Pen, fire walking!  I love how you drew the flames.  That's a powerful image.  She looks exactly like a person with all the traits you described.

This deck is gonna be amazing!

Raggydoll, geoxena, thank you! I drew the original at A4 size, but the detail got a bit lost when I printed it out at card size and I had to fix a few things - glad you think it's OK.

Yes this deck is going to be phenomenal! And as of next week we will allow a fourth card, so some of you may want to sign up yet again, if you feel you can do it in time 💗

I was just about to head over to the sign-ups thread to ask you about that!  See, there's a card still left as of today that I really want.

So here's the actual version. What might be missing, if anything?

Tell us your vision for this card, that will make it easier for us to pinpoint it I think!

I don't think she's missing anything, really.  There's a lot going on here!  I like the card much better now that you've taken away the columns and curtain.  What is that white patch on top of her head?  It's a little unclear on my phone.  To be honest, I like everything about this card except for one tiny thing, but I may be too nitpicky - it's the brightness of the musical notes, which I think would fit in better if they were blue/gray-ish or a little duller because they stand out a bit now.  But that is so minor and I do like your Seer a lot, Arania!

I believe the bright thing is a tiara. And I do agree that the musical notes could be a little darker and less prominent to blend in even better.

Thanks, yes I reduced the brightness to fit in better with the runic design in the back.

I just looked at pictures I took of this drawing when I first began and, yup, she had an anti-helix to start with.  But I had made her ear too big and round for her face.  Somehow, during the resizing and repositioning process, she lost her anti-helix!  But it's back now and better than before!  See below.

Great idea to take a pic of myself - thanks!

First thing I did when I woke up this morning was to give her her anti-helix back!  I also reshaped her ear, softened and lightened the shadow, and added some pink to the shadow.  Here's the new and improved ear:

Thank you very, very much!  I wanted her to look a little worn-out and bedraggled as well as far away and wistful.  She reminds me of a period in my life when I wondered if I'd ever smile again.  I probably wore the same expression.  Your comment gives me a boost of confidence!

I love her expression!  You really captured it beautifully!  That expression will add so much to any reading this card shows up in for sure!  Great Job

@Penyour Elder of Fire is beautiful!  It gives off that elder vibe like the Elder of Earth @Raggydollcompleted.

@Araniacongrats on finishing your card, she looks great!  A lot going on in the card.  What is the white patch on her head?

The blob is a Tiara.

Here's the 10 of Air concept.

The swords cast no shadow, but while they might be an illusion, to the cut up figure in the bleak landscape they are all too real. There seems no other road to take and no one is around to help.

I have started in finished this in one day, but I don't know if I should show the final artwork yet. Creating The Universe card is an interesting spiritual exercise. But then I guess they all are! 🙂

Creating The Universe card . . .

Lovely concept, Delta!  It's great.  Will you be coloring it in or making it from collage?  II'm always curious what medium people use to create art.  Also, you know that @Raggydoll will be adding the number and title, so you don't need to include them.

Yes, thanks Geoxena. I’m sure these were added as a visual but it bears reminding that no one shall add numbers or titles on their cards. We just want the actual art, at 897x1342 and 300DPI 😊

You're right - it's probably why newish members of the Golden Dawn were encouraged to create a personal tarot deck.  🙂

Thank you @geoxena! It'll be drawn and coloured in Photoshop 🙂 I'll take the title and number out, concept felt weird without it.

Oh my, she is an inspiration to me!  And I so admire your talent in painting your cards in such different styles.  So beautiful!

@Ariana your Seer is intense, as a Seer should be.  There is something mesmerizing about her eyes that I'm not sure I can explain.  They are both piercing and unfocused at the same time, if that is possible.  Is it that she is looking within?

And your Ten of Air - the concept is fantastic and the art is startling and thought provoking.  Wonderful card!

Edited to apologize for tagging the wrong member - of course I meant @Arania, not @Ariana.

@Delta, the way your Universe is balancing the sun and moon is reminiscent of the Two of Pentacles.  I always love when one card references another like this.  It seems to add layers of meaning and nuance to a reading.  Looking forward to progress reports and the finished card.

For my fourth card I chose the Two of Fire and here he is.  The Two of Fire is dynamic, dramatic and pragmatic in varying proportions as appropriate.  He is a confident leader who knows when to conform and when to innovate, when to forge a new path and when to walk an established track.  My vision is an old man, still vital and unique.  He has been there, done that, and is ready to capably do it all again.  And if he doesn't need to, that's cool too.  He even looks like my kind of guy!
