Hullo All! I had this happen for the first time today and I wondered if it had any significance. I will give you some context to the situation and the spread I have done first... So I was doing a yes no spread, it was a 3 card pull, with the middle card giving an y/n answer based on being upright (yes) or reversed (no). Context: I am quite unhappy in my workplace, though had chosen not to leave but instead drop my pay level and responsibility so that I could begin my own business on the side of my stable job. Question I asked my deck: Will I be leaving my job in the new year? Card 1: ten of cups reversed Card 2: 8 of …

So I pulled cards on my friend about her boyfriend being in jail. I asked spirit how would his case go, and i pulled the page of wands and the 6 of pentacles for clarity (assuming that mean the boyfriend will receive news about money) then i pulled the death cad in reverse and the 10 of wands in reverse for clarity ( very confused about that) and I pulled the 9 of swords and the 10 of swords for clarity. Im new to reading cards and I wanted to know if anyone can help me understand what those cards mean.. ESPECIALLY when I pull the death card in reverse and the 10 of wands in reverse. thank you! :)

I have a few decks that have very slippery/glossy finishes and it makes them quite annoying when shuffling and resting cards on top of each other. Anyone got a hack to make them less slippery? I read on one site to try essential oils, I did this with one deck but it didn't really work, just made my deck smell really good, which I'm not complaining about but I still have slippery cards! 😡

Pleasantly surprised to see a very large and prominent tarot related bit of street art along the busiest commercial street in Missoula, MT. Inquired in the adjacent shop for any further information about the artist but nobody seemed to know anything. Pretty cool! Thought folks here might appreciate seeing this : )

this Lo Scarabeo 2019 deck is based on the Sola Busca of 1491, and the language is Italian I believe. I think the last word is infinity but can anyone translate the ribbon and other words on the disc edge? I'm not having any luck with on-line translators, they seem to think I am ordering a plate of chips.

i'm new to Tarot but not fully new. i started studying them a year or so ago, and stopped. now i'm back to it, and i'm currently writing down explanations of the cards, from sources on the internet, AND in my own words a bit, and all that i'm curious though, when i become more experienced, and know the definitions of each card off heart, how often then will i still look at the notes of mine, or books (i own 2 books on them), or internet, or feel like i need to at all. any experienced people on Tarot here that still look at notes? if so, how often do you? and maybe shed some light on why you would look up more into the meanings of the cards, ev…

i recently decided to get back into tarot, i was studying them for a little while in the past i bought a notebook and wrote down my interpretations on each card based on a personal point of view but then i stopped, now i want to get back to it and start studying again my question is: What are some other ways to use Tarot Cards? besides readings? because i want to study them and i am trying to find different ways to use them (in the purpose of learning/studying the cards) because i have been told that you shouldn't do a reading (on yourself, or another person) too often, but rather have time between. for most effectiveness…

Hey all, So, I own about 12 decks so far- most are RWS clonea but some are a little different. I feel most comfortable reading with the regular RWS ( at the moment I use the "original version and the dirty PAM with which I connected immediately since its basically the same deck with different colors) but I have been wanting to explore and connect and read with other decks- just to get an ability to diversify like many of you do- atm its the Shadowscape and Wild unknown oneswhich I would LOVE to better use. My problem is- that when I do readings for people even here on the forum- I am reluctent to use a deck with which I still don't…

Hi, I have a question, does carrying specific cards with you help at all. I read somewhere, that if you carry a card you wish to draw energy from, they help you with it. For eg: carry Ace of wands, if you wish to communicate your thoughts well in a meeting. Any body with such experiences? please share Regards Ashwsh

TLDR: I bought a 12-month reading for 60+ bucks, and while it was "long", you could tell the reader just copy/pasted tarot meanings from her personal master list. A year later, I ordered a second product from her and this time she got my name wrong on it LOL (not misspelled, but literally a stranger's name was on it, although the Solar Arc was definitely mine). If you don't have time to read the whole story, feel free to skip the quoted bit and jump straight to my questions. I'm curious: What are your thoughts on this? Do you think what she's doing is okay? Is this common practice? Sorry that was long! Am I right to be di…

So I do a lot of Celtic Crosses. (That and Rachel Pollack's Work Cycle are my go-to spreads). I've found that more and more I'm using the traditional card-location meanings just as sort of guidelines. This is particularly true of card positions 7, 8, and 9 (the bottom three cards on the staff). But also twice recently I've done readings where somebody is asking for advice about moving or not, and both times I've had card 5 (the top of the cross/possible outcome) and card 10 (the final outcome) each be a clear representation of one of the two choices. (After the spread, one time I kept those two cards on the table and then laid down three cards un…

So I recently bought a new deck that I absolutely adore (the Ethereal Visions Illuminated Tarot) and have done a few readings with it so far. But what I really want to know is what else I can do with it to get to know it better besides reading the LWB cover to cover and feeling the energy of it as I look over and bond with the deck and it's gorgeous imagery.

I found this article online. It was written by Thich Nhat Hahn. It's an interesting ten-minute read. I hope you'll find the time. Amazing insights. I quote: The Buddha spoke of four kinds of nutriments, the four kinds of foods that we consume every day. Our happiness and suffering depend very much on whether what we consume is wholesome or unwholesome. The four nutriments are Edible Food, Sensory Impressions, Volition, and Consciousness, all briefly explained in the article. I thought what a wonderful coincidence that they can be related to the four suits: Pentacles, Cups, Wands, and Swords, respectively. Please tell me what…

About a week ago my wife and I had a serious argument. I forget about what exactly now, since it's been resolved, chalk it up to the male brain, but at the time Intuition said the only way we can truly find a resolution to our disagreement was through the Tarot. The problem is, she doesn't believe in the Tarot. About the third day and the issue has not yet been resolved, but all the emotions and anger have somewhat settled, we decided to talk calmly about it. Still no seeing eye-to-eye on the topic, though, but I finally pulled out my deck, shuffled it, and fanned it in front of her. She rolled her eyes, and I said, pick ten cards. She …

Hi all, this is my first post here and I am very far from an expert. I first started on tarot just over a year ago. This was following a very difficult break up, following a relationship that involved emotional abuse and I used tarot amongst other things to find myself again and work on building back up a pretty shattered confidence. I’d also gained a huge amount of weight - nearly 60lbs! - so have been working on rectifying this (43lbs down). As you can imagine, this physical and mental process has relied on a total break from dating and men in general. Recently, before I got too set in my ways, I decided to give online dating a try. Given my trepidation, I didn’t expect…

When I first read Mary K. Greer's Tarot for your Self and calculated using numerology my Soul card, I was appalled. I got the Heirophant. I grew up religious, afraid of hell, and working my ass off to earn a mansion in heaven. I was hurt by the Church and did not want any part of it anymore. It was at the point of rejecting Religion when Tarot entered my life. Why is this card haunting me? Is this truly the lesson I have for this lifetime? I am not a teacher by profession, but I have functioned as one. I teach workshops in acting (I'm an actor) and creative writing (I'm a novelist, too), and also am a volunteer as a Sunday School teacher. I did not finish coll…

Have you ever dreamed (as in night dreams) about tarot cards? If you see cards in your dream would you try to interpret them as if you were getting that card in a draw? What if the imagery was different somehow.. I dreamed that I asked what my bf (right now on another continent) feels about me and first card was 5 of pentacles from the Connolly deck which features a blindfolded woman by a closed gate and and angel touching her blindfold. But the weird part is that the regular image was on the face up (like usually where the generic image on the back of the cards are), but on the other side a woman sits on a harbor blindfolded with lots of kids around her…

For me it is Celtic Cross by far... but I will do 3/5 carder for quick stuff, especially if it's something I don't want so much information back on. The "Very Bad Day" spread I amusingly use quite often on my Tarot app (Galaxy Tarot) even though most of the time, it is not a bad day at all. I just find the energy it gives back sometimes to be quite well... awesome. It cuts through the nonsense and lets me know what my priority should be for the day and what really isn't and the other spreads in the app are not so good for this.

We've all heard the conversations about intuitive readers vs by-the-book readers and how that conversation inevitably ends with everyone agreeing that a blend of both sides is key... But, I'm curious - what does that blend look like for you personally? For me - look, I'm a true die hard intuitive. I started with reading signs in the world around me, narrowed into Oracles for fun, then into tarot for diversity. I'll use a tarot deck more like an oracle and whatever comes up comes up for it, even if it veers so far off the beaten track for that card that you wouldn't recognize the actual card definition from what I see in it in that moment. There's no consisten…

Am I the only freak of loves the smell of their cards, especially when they are new? 🤣 The deodorizing thread and having just taken out a deck I haven't used in a long time that I never used much and smelling them made me wonder if its just me? I love to take random whiffs of my cards when using them. I also love the smell of books and paper. Any other sniffers out there? 😂

For some years now I've assigned personal names to the decks I use most, or otherwise feel the strongest connection to. I feel like the careful deliberation this requires really puts me "in tune" (so to speak) with the character of each deck and its artwork. At the same time it feels suspiciously like kid stuff-- but only outside the comfort of my own home. Who else names their decks? And why/why not? Sincerely looking forward to your answers 😄✨

I seem to have started a habit of running multiple decks. I've been using the Druidcraft to guide my current spiritual journey, so when I wanted to do a daily draw about day-to-day feelings about things, I chose my old Spiral (or sometimes the Housewives. Did I mention it's an underrated deck? It always nails it.) The other deck that I use with specific intent is the Rohrig, which I usually get out if I need a creativity-related reading, though I'm thinking the Blake may take over that role. Do you use decks consistently for particular things? Or pick a deck depending on your specific question? Edited the title to try to better reflect …

After a LOT of procrastination and self-de-enabling, I finally had a Greenwood printed up. (The images @Raggydoll posted were what finally did it. Poker sized with a linen finish is perfect!) Anyway, the Blasted Oak image strongly reminded me of William Blake, so I pulled up some of his images to see if I could match it. And lo and behold, there's The Dance of Albion. Look at this: The Blasted Oak seems to be an almost mirror image of the lady in The Reunion of the Soul and the Body: I haven't had time to reflect on any of this, and so can't claim that there's any intended added meanings. Chesca may simply have been usi…

So I met this guy a few months ago and felt a connection with him. I started watching tarot videos on YouTube about how my future lover will look/be like and it all matched him. I looked into my astrology and saw how I'd meet my husband and it matched up! I've been asking my own oracle/tarot cards about what he thinks about me. I keep getting the same cards but I'm not sure how to interpret them. For the most part I always get the world card and temperance or strength. I think he's having problems with balance in his life. My oracle cards gave me broken heart and woman holding a coin (i'm not rich so idk what this means). This is what I got last night when …
