Hi all, I was recently reading through the forum and was struck by an incredibly apt distinction user @katrinka brought up in another thread about Tarot being used more in modern times for psychological reading rather than predictive. I realized that I've been practicing much more in last while with psychological insight and introspective Tarot readings for myself, and I've gotten out of practice working with the cards in a predictive sense. I'd really love to work with predictive readings, but I think I've been a little unconsciously daunted by the idea of it for many months. I've taken some hits to my confidence this year that have resulted in me being frightened of exe…

This talk is over 2 hours but it is one that I think we all need to listen to. I am currently still listening to it and digesting everything. I really appreciate the opportunity to learn more.

I was in Costco (warehouse store) today and saw Marseilles tarot images on Cabernet Sauvignon wine bottles! Each bottle had a different Majors card image on it. Tarot and Wine - two of my favorite things together! Prophecy is the vintner behind this wine. A quick Google search brought up this article https://vinepair.com/articles/wine-labels-design-tarot/ with some images. None of them are Marseilles though. Here's what I saw: I didn't buy any cause I have way too much wine right now. But if it's still available in a few months, I'll definitely buy one to try it out.

I think it's so cool that two decks I love because of how cute and understated they are and who leave a lot to the imagination turned out to be based on one of the few decks I've seen where the only ambiguity is often the overwhelming amount of information given. Learning "dominion" is the card title of the two of wands from the Son and Moon and it's decan from the Thoth - where Aries indisputably enjoys hanging out in Mars - helps me understand the man from the Two of Wands in the Tarot Nova who's getting his head knocked off. I plan on taking this slowly, but I'm sure that soon I'll be able to answer the burning question every Tarot Nova user has ever asked…

Hi, I'm new to Tarot but am not having very good results at all. I really don't understand how the cards I pull have any significance to what I asked! Two examples, one silly, one serious. The silly one: "What kind of thing shall I have for dinner tomorrow?" I got The Lovers (love, relationships, union) - how does that answer my question? The serious one: "What should I look out for this coming winter, especially regarding the coronavirus?" I got King Of Swords - being intelligent and analytical. It just doesn't make sense to me. Do you ever get any cards that don't even begin to answer your query? And if you do, do you just draw again?…

Hello guys, (this ended up being too long, so I just summed it up in the end for those who maybe want to help but don't want to read it all) I'm writing to ask for some help. So, as I said here before, I'm pretty new to tarot. I've been using mostly the vivid journey deck, and I'm still in the process of learning the cards, the readings, etc. But then the other day I went to a store, to buy something else entirely, and ended up leaving the store with a new deck, mostly because I really liked the imagery. It's called "Tarot of druids". When I got home and read the little booklet that comes with it I was actually really happy because, even though I …

This topic is a continuation of something that came up in the de-enable thread. We started talking about how so many of us seem to have one or more decks in our collection (or that used to be in our collection) that we simply can't get good readings from. I am talking about the decks that we find to be the opposite of 'work horses' and 'talkers'. It is the decks that seem to be very unwilling to cooperate or to spill the beans. So I thought it would be fun to ask even more people if they have had this experience. If you have, were you able to get past it? (If so, how?). Have you decided to keep or to re-home those silent decks, and why? Although this is not about any deck…

Good evening everyone. Im new here and not sure I’m in the right section so if i am please someone move it to correct place thank you. As i just said I’m very new to Tarot and to be honest I have no idea about Tarot or never heard about it until I met my recent partner and from what she has told me I’m not sure I wanted too. Basically my partner gets readings from a Lithuanian lady on the phone and has used her for years but I have never heard the conversation or ever heard what she asks. But she has told me things this lady has said about me like I like my comfort, I like a gamble, when I get something I move on quickly which is all pr…

So, funny story.... I have tried reading Lenormand several times in the past- and it didn't clicked - I dropped it after a short period every time- not understanding the "rules" .. I picked it up again like 2 weeks ago- on a whim- and started following the rules a bit more loosely ( after watching again a few online videos) - so far the results ( especially in prediction ) were spot on- to a point where I told someone an hour before the event that something she planned would be canceled and the way it would be canceled.. which happened - in that precise way.. This rarely happened for me in Tarot - despite me reading it quite well for …

Because my daily draws had been getting rather monotonous and uninspired recently, I went looking for something to shake them up a bit; something from outside my bubble, a question to answer with the cards in a way that would make the process feel fresh again. I stumbled on the 'Daily Haloha' app, which is wonderful; each day there is a prompt, your reply gets sent out anonymously, and you get another response back (there is also a wall with daily replies to read). Not designed with tarot in mind, but I've found that drawing a card and running with that imagery to formulate a reply often works really well! And it's very light and low-pressure, perfec…

Hi, I’m hoping somebody can help me. I’m very much a beginner to tarot and still learning so I’m still trying to understand all the meanings and interpretations. I asked the tarot a question of “is my partner being faithful to me” I was only going to do a one card reading as I’m a beginner but I drew justice and wasn’t sure so I drew another to clarify and I got 7 of swords, could someone help me with interpreting this please? thank you x

Hey dear community! Even though I have been reading for several years- I am still searching for a better way to attune to the energy of far away querents! So far I haven't found anything that noticeably increase my accuracy. While I know these things are individual- I would LOVE to hear your rituals/methods/tricks. to perhaps get inspired and try some of the ideas if possible CHeers!

Hi there, I have only ever used the Mythic tarot deck with 84 cards. I would like to buy a pack of cards and workbook for my niece but was suprised to find looking online that tarot decks vary in the number of cards. Is there a 'right' number? I think I will have to buy her an 84 pack as it is the only one I know so it would be confusing otherwise. All advice appreciated. I hope joining this site enlarges my understanding of the tarot. Which is quite limited really. I do my own readings twice a year and stick to that. Interestingly in my last reading (April this year) the central card was the hanging man, representing sacrifice. Which pretty much summed it u…

Hey all! Sadly while doing a spread for the forum I didn't notice that one of the cards fell to the floor and while I was busy typing my "dear" "dear" dog came and licked it half to death- het saliva tore through the corner making the card un-usable. I was wondering - instead of buying a new deck worth around 18$- is there any way you can recommend to try and get that one card? thank you!

...of the Darkness of Light tarot, either 2nd or 3rd edition. Puh-leeze?! I thought I'd exorcised it out of my life. I really did. I bought the Mary-El and the Children of Litha, thinking those would assuage my hankering for a decent shadow work deck. But then I realized I didn't want the Darkness of Light for shadow work. I just wanted it. Period. I can't stop thinking about it, and I am baffled by my obsession, but there you have it. I tried emailing the artist, trawling eBay U.S. and international, posting on tarot Facebook pages - all to no avail. I am hoping the universe does right by me and sent me here with the hopes…

For the last year or so I've been developing my method for reading the Tarot de Marseille, and in the process I took a detour to rework my understanding of the RWS (which you can read here). In studying the Marseille, I've realized that there are a number of pip decks that I would like to read with but that won't work in relation to the system that I've developed. My system for the TdM relies partially on the visual arrangement of the foliage and the "looks" of the human figures on the cards, so beautiful decks like the Prediction Tarot (which have quite spartan minors and many figures that face outwardly) really won't work. What follows, then, is a system tha…

This goes beyond the specific deck mentioned in the video, and it’s a really important topic. Discriminating or making fun of someone who’s suffering from mental illness is simply not okay.

Hi all, I was recently invited to give a talk on tarot to a group of beginners and it got me thinking about my own journey with the cards and the challenges/obstacles I faced when I was starting out (I remember a big one being 'HOW am I supposed to memorise ALL these meanings?!'). But I'm curious - how was it for you? What were the difficult parts of learning tarot? Where did you struggle? What's the one piece of information you have now that you wish you had back then? I'd love to hear your thoughts. A x

Hey! Sorry if this isn't the right space, I'm new!! What card has been recurring for you guys lately? Any ideas why? In what context, maybe? I just thought this would be a fun thread as I've had a card of my own tacked onto my life recently and wanted to see if others have too lol. I've gotten the lovers A LOT lately. Every single time I've done a sit down for the past two weeks, in fact. It even came flying out of the deck like a bat out of tarot hell twice while shuffling today lol. Yesterday it popped out when I was taking the deck out of the bag!!! Very odd. How about you guys? Any card stalkers??

Hi, I'm quite new to Tarot and my journey I have decided to start with reading as much is possible and learn and meditate on cards. I want to use Tarot for self-development and finding more about my inner spirit and how to become a better person. I'm using Rider & Waite deck. The books I have read so far includes: Alejandro Jodorowsky - The Way of Tarot 78 Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack Meditation on Tarot Ultimate Guide to Rider Waite Tarot Any further reading recommendations and information how to find out more about my deck, increase the connection. Many thanks…

I've decide to jump on the bullet journal bandwagon! So I bought myself an unlined art journal (couldn't find any cheap dot grid ones), a selection of different highlighters, some random pretty stickers and some felt tips. But now I'm stuck! I have no idea what kind of stuff I could be putting in this thing 😂 I've gotten as far as making the cover pretty (thanks to some copper contact paper and a pretty sticker), a title page (thanks new highlighters and pretty stickers!), an index/contents page and a star chart (not entirely sure why but why not?). So... where to now...? Does anyone else use bullet journals? Any suggestions as to what I could add to mine? An…

Dear Tarot readers, Could you help me with this interpretation? Tarot Deck I'm using - Waite & Smith Card pulled in order - 9 of Cups, Tower and The Chariot I'm using Tarot for self-development and improvement, question I have asked: "What field in my life I should improve, what lesson do I need to learn" My interpretation: 9 of Cups I was living materialistic life, neglecting my spiritual side and soul, surrendered with similar type of "friends" who really care more about their image then true interpersonal relations based on trust, respect and love. …

Hello, I was wondering how others read Oracle or Tarot decks with Chakras Cards ? Do you keep the Chakra Cards in the deck or do you separate the Chakra Cards? I just purchased the Connected and Free Oracle deck and it has 8 Chakra Cards. I have separated the Chakras Cards and use it to understand the energy surrounding the person or question and then I pull a tarot card to clarify the Chakra card. I would love to know how others use decks like the Psychic Tarot by John Holland and the Connected and Free Oracle by Inner Hue?

Hello, Everyone. It’s been awhile since I’ve logged in here. I’m reading a lot about archetypes from a number of sources and, at the same time, learning new songs on my guitar. One of my favorites is Tom Waits ‘Shiver Me Timbers’ and this morning I started thinking that it might contain an archetype if leaving or the one who consciously leaves everything behind. Also a very beautiful song. I First thought of the fool but the man in the song is not an innocent. He is longing for something and he does have a structured life he is yearning to leave behind, A wife and friends he trusts to break the news of his leaving to her. So which card? Maybe the four of wands as…

I've been thinking a lot about intuition and I'd like to know what works for you, whether you are naturally highly intuitive or struggle(d) to get there. Basically I have three areas I'm curious about: 1.) What, if any, are the things you do (methods/rituals/set-ups, etc.) that help you access your intuition, or put you in the headspace to do so? 2.) What have you found to help you trust your intuition? 3.) What kind of tarot decks or imagery do you feel you can more easily read intuitively? And/or, conversely, what kind do you look at and say, "Nope, won't be able to read intuitively with this deck!" Thanks in…
