or is it just my carpola connection? I'm trying to answer a PM. I've tried both my bookmark link and google search. Thanks, Sharyn/AJ

I just got a mini version of a deck that I love. It's adorable and I think I'm going to have fun having it handy. But it didn't come with a LWB. The full size version has a book, not a LWB, and the meanings of some cards deviate slightly from traditional RWS. I'm not used to the deck enough yet to read reliably without the reference, so I was going to make my own LWB to go with the mini deck. I think it seems pretty straightforward-- include whatever notes I think I need, in as small a format as possible-- but I thought before I did, I would ask here if anyone else has printed their own "cheat sheet." Was there anything you didn't include you wish you had, or information …

This may not be the best place for this thread, because really it's about study music, but I am looking for music with "Tarot Feels" lol I'm creating a playlist online for when I do start doing readings on skype or in my home, and also to just put me in a midieval/earthy/magical/whimsical kind of mood. I have been using a lot of oriental traditional folk songs, some hindu religious pieces on sitar, lots of celtic/druid music, and some classical. Do you guys have instrumental/spiritual new agey music you dig? Anything that just helps you to connect to your cosmic self or to the earth or whatever, I already have some good stuff but it's getting kind of samey. Peter Kat…

Hello! I’m wondering which court cards do you think would have a sense of humor. In particular I’m asking about the King of Wands. Would his characteristic be a good sense of humor?

I'm wondering how everyone hear approaches shuffling and dealing the cards. I get hung up on the position of cards as I shuffle, and what is 'meant' to be reversed vs. upright, and the manner in which I shuffle and flip the cards having an effect on that. I resolved recently to just stop dealing with reversals all together for the next while, and place all cards upright. It feels more natural for me to flip the cards vertically as opposd to revealing them by turning them horizontally like the pages of a book. I set the intention that's how I will flip the cards, so after I'm settled from shuffling any futher, I'm essentially left holding the deck upside dow…

So, I had my first reading today from my boyfriends mum. He himself had never had a reading either. So after my reading his twin sister had hers then he had his. They both ended up having 9 identical cards!! The only one that wasn’t the same was the final card! They were all in a different order apart from the distant past! I watched her shuffle the cards till my boyfriend told her to stop and then he split them 3 times! Has anyone else ever heard of this happening with twins?? I think this was absolutely amazing!!

I first asked about person X and how their relationship dynamic with my friend, and got the hermit card. I then asked what person X is like, and who they are, and got the seven of wands. How could you interpret this person? Both in a relationship with my friend, and who they are as a person?

Just received an email from US Games stating they are shutting down March 23 due to COVID 19. The state of Connecticut issued a shut down order for all non-essential workers and businesses. I'm thinking that, along with many other industries, the mass market tarot publishing industry is going to be pretty quiet for the foreseeable future. I wasn't planning on buying many, if any, tarot decks for the rest of this year anyway so I'll focus on my existing decks. Lo Scarabeo is based in Italy so I don't expect them to be functional at present. Not sure about companies like Lewellyn and Schiffer. AGM Urania are based in Germany so they are likely out of action too…

Greetings! I am new to this forum and tarot in general. I find tarot to be very fascinating and I have recently started to make an effort to become better at it but I often find myself puzzled by cards and their complex meanings when combined together. One such example is this simple one card reading I did today. The question was about my ex with whom I had a sort of an odd break up (she just vanished without a word) 3 months ago. I've been trying to get in touch with her for some time but she's avoiding me. My question was, what does she think of me this period, I pulled The Sun and then Judgement as a clarifier card. Could someone try to interpret this pair?…

Hello, I'm new to everything related to tarot. I need help. I received a very uosetting reading with predictions far in the future. I don't want to become a prisoner of this reading! I believe in free will. Could you tell me, is the reader wrong in this case? She said I will be lonely and unloved. I checked the meaning of cards and the were positive. There was for example magician, 2 of cups and later she took, 6 of cups, 3 of cups, queen of pentacles, knight of cups and King of cups. There was also devil followed by death. I don't have a feeling that those cards are speaking of loneliness. I'm terrified by this reading. She didn't g…

I hope I have this in the right place... I was messing around with my Wizards Tarot (by Barbara Moore and Mieke Jeannsens). And got to really looking at the fool card. I think she looks kinda depressed in it... Definitely not the happy go lucky card that most tarot decks seem to have. I've seen them be more action like. Or more... jester/fool like. But this is the first time I've really noticed one give off a depressed like vibe. I didn't think they were going for depressed. I figured more contemplative... but anyway, it got me curious and I got the book out. (Which, honestly, I just skimmed before...) The keywords were typical Fool keywo…

How often does what you read to be an outcome of a situation end up being true or false? Because readings are only ever possible outcomes although many, including myself, sometimes have wishful thinking. But then how much more likely do you think an outcome is to happen if several people at different places and time have similar outcomes for a question you ask them? “Will so and so reconcile” “will I end up single by December” ykno questions on things that can always go either or way. How accurate has tarot been for you or someone you know with things like that? Super curious!

So after some back and forth periods of weariness about the Tarot I am truly out of the woods. Not only do I not worry about what I'm doing, I am growing in excitement to become a better reader and bond with my decks but I find that I don't really know how to do that. I want to start reading for myself again or reading on things by myself somehow, just to become regular and familiar with my decks. I'd like to start keeping a deck with me all the time, I know that some people pull a daily card and meditate on it. But basically I just have trouble coming up with questions TO ask my decks, I'm not very curious about my own life I'm quite content to let it unfold as it do…

I am working with Face Up spreads as described by Mary Greer to work on recovering from a long relationship with a covert narcissist. I am re-learning how to trust myself and set strong boundaries. I am exploring my own inner peace and strength. What cards would you say embody these qualities of strength, inner peace, and self love?

I know that traditional readings are the best, but What´s your opinion and experience on accuracy of automatical online readings. More than readings I am referring to automatical selection of cards, which you can read after the software draws the cards.

I recently had a request to do a paid reading covering a two-year period. I was tempted but decided that circumstances (especially those involving relationship matters) can shift so dramatically over that long a time that the amount of generalization required of such a reading could render it fairly useless to the client. I have a couple of spreads I created based on the pagan "Wheel of the Year" model but don't have enough confidence in them to offer them professionally. I'm going to tackle creating a new spread for this purpose, but in the meantime I was wondering how other pro readers deal with such long-range forecasts.

My wife gets after me for spending too much time writing up my observations for online clients and not charging enough for it, and she's probably right but I wouldn't feel honest doing any less. If I'm doing a Celtic Cross, I usually have around a page of standard introductory text that I cut-and-paste with minor tweaks from reading-to-reading, a "big-picture" summary of the most compelling features of the spread, a one-paragraph-per-card narrative, and a closing summary of anything I find particularly noteworthy in the way of advice for the sitter. Then I add a digital photo of the spread. By the time I'm done, the write-up typically ranges from 3,500 to 4,500 words and …

So, I have a question for all of you who do readings for others, whether professionally or just for fun How many of you have the sitter actually tell you their question before you draw, and how many have them keep the question to themselves and just do a read of the cards with the intent that the sitter applies the information themselves? Is there a protocol? I rarely read for others (I don't think I am "good enough" yet), but when I do, it is never a business exchange, so I always have the sitter think about the question, but not reveal it to me. I then usually do a 3 card spread, or maybe 4, (or whichever type I am learning) and expla…

I think this is the right place for this discussion - Mods please feel free to move it if you need So I just recently came across the idea of a 'depth year' - thank you Raggydoll - and it chimes with me as we have been downsizing and enjoying our remaining possessions more for a couple of years already - since we moved house. Nothing hidden away in the loft for example (apart from tree decorations for Yule) - if we don't look at it and love it, why have it? Even the idea of restricting my buying of decks - I've bought less than a dozen this year, and they were nearly all second hand decks which I felt I missed first time round. But I do have a lot of d…

Cards move for me most of the time, and sometimes one cards tells a complete story. The fixed card meanings only rarely apply. Who else reads them differently?

Hi all, It's been a while since I was around these parts and I'm checking in today with a topic fitting for the new year: What's your personal card for 2020? How do you calculate it? I take the day and month of birth and add it to the current year. So 4/9/2020 (following a DD/MM/YY format) becomes: 4+9+2+0+2+0=17 (The Star) which can be further broken down to 1+7=8 (Strength). I'm interested to see what your card for the year is and how you feel it's likely to interact with the energy of The Emperor, who is governing 2020. For the record, I'm currently experiencing my first Temperance year EVER! Which is sort of exciting 🙂 …

So... up until now I used to fan the cards on the table and go over them and pick the cards that "call" to me. However, at times I kinda deliberate and unsure picking one then putting it back for another- so while it seems to be rather accurate I would love to find a more convenient but still accurate method. So, How do you shuffle/pick the cards when reading? Any ideas are appreciated! Cheers!!
