I wondered about it. How much do you think costs to make your own cards?

Here's my first real-life tarot experience. This blew my mind. I was trying to make sense of the daily reading I did this morning which featured Judgement. I'd been expecting something important to happen, but I had a pretty mundane day. So this afternoon I did a 3-card spread to clarify. I got The Chariot (It means this), The Fool (It does not mean this), and The Hierophant (It leads to this). So I am sitting thinking, wow all these major cards. This is clearly supposed to be an important day, but nothing has happened. I was ruminating on The Hierophant when it hit me really clearly. This was telling me to follow the rules. To keep control of my chariot and not be …

When the eight of wands indicates a fast outcome or a quick change, how fast are we talking? Is there a time limit or a general idea of what that means?
-
I think its better sometimes not ask about some things in future and just lets see what happened because very often some things happen but differently than you expect or nothing happen because you expect it.

I'm sure there are going to be lots of differing opinions on this but I thought it'd be fun to discuss! What's your opinion on using a phone app to read Tarot cards verses using the actual cards themselves? Personally, I love the feel of tarot cards and I enjoy shuffling them (the sound and the feel is so therapeutic!) and using them but there are times when it is hard to get my cards out and use whereas it is much easier to find a quiet space and use my phone. I don't find it effects my ability to read the cards or to use my intuition but I can see both sides of the argument for and against them. The only caveat I have with using an app is I like to have option…

I've been reading for others since May of this year....I couldn't tell you exactly how many readings I've done for others (all long distance)...but if I had to guess maybe around 200. But tonight. Tonight I hit my first wall. I tried to read for this person twice...once when I first took my cards out, got absolutely nothing...I saw nothing, couldn't make sense of any of the cards. So then I tried to do some other readings for other people, and those came out simple/easy! Figured alright lets go back to the first person...nope wall was still there :-[ This is super discouraging. Never have I not been able to read for someone. Does it make me a bad tarot reader? Have oth…

Hi All! I have a lot of concerns with my Rider-Waite Tarot deck. I am currently performing a tarot reading to give spiritual advice to my boyfriend's family which have financial concerns, and while I read it I started to feel extremely uncomfortable, stressed, and tearful. For a backstory, his family is divorced and his Mom's side has been in debt and hasn't paid rent in 5 weeks, therefore cannot hold her own and needs many support from her brothers and other family members. I was trying to look into it and I had started to feel extremely stressful emotions, I was pretty shocked because my boyfriend told me she had been very stressed and tearful about her debt, she …

Hi there, My name is Jennifer, I am new to the whole world of tarot and I could really do with some help and advice... When my beloved and spiritual grandmother passed away I acquired her deck of tarot cards, Grimaud, Grand Etteilla. From my research I understand that this tarot deck is a particularly older style and does not always fit into the meanings and interpretations of general tarot. Now as I have a connection to these cards through being passed them from a family member I am keen to learn them however I cannot seem to find a lot of in depth information about them other than the general meanings of each card and as it seems they should be treated and…

I’ve been looking at the Moon and Death cards and I have several questions. The Death card shows the same towers and body of water as does the Moon, only instead of a Moon, a sun basks behind the towers. It’s said that the boat on the river is the ferryman of the dead, which would make the river the Styx. What does that say about the river if water represents intuition? Does the Moon card not only represent the suspended time between awake and asleep, but also the suspended time between death and new life? Is it life beyond the veil and if so, does that mean that intuition comes from there, too, as well as out journey to higher consciousness begins there, too? Is the…

In the various schools of thought on tarot, one old rule was that tarot cards needed to come to their owner indirectly, as the tarot cards needed to find their own owner. Do you adhere to this rule, and if so how do you come about attaining a new deck? Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

I'm perplexed why and how it doesn't matter how you shuffle or select cards for a spread. If you choose cards randomly from the fanned out deck, or simply deal from the top or bottom of the deck, you're going to select wildly different cards. So how can it not matter? If you have ever done a reading for the year, whether for yourself or others, I'd like to hear your thoughts. I have pulled a card per month type of spread before and looking back, I'm not sure how useful it was. Even if I could make a connection between the card of the month and what happened, it was always in retrospect. I'm mulling over two ways to do it this year: 1. A reading that breaks it down by the seasons, most likely using the solstices and equinoxes as my dividing points. Each section would contain multiple cards to give a fuller reading than just one. 2. A reading that pulls for each new moon of the year and each section once again having multiple …

today I pulled the 4 of chalices and the little book covers the fours as one group, Building. The 4 of cups is the Hollow Void. Now how interesting is that! Little thothy, little rwsy, little golden dawnie... I'm asking because I am not quite clear about the deck companion book. The hard cover is print on demand and my eyes are not up to standard books. this is what it's page says: https://benebellwen.com/spirit-keepers-tarot/the-book-of-maps/ "However, the digital files are delivered to your e-mail inbox, not to your e-reader. Thus, you will need to go through the extra step yourself downloading the file, then uploading it to your e-reader. The file is not dir…

Apologies in advance if there’s been a thread about this already (if so, maybe a kind soul could post the link?) I was wondering what your favourite references are for RWS style Tarot reading? When I first got my deck, I also bought “The Only Tarot Book You’ll Ever Need” by Skye Alexander, which has been great for me as a beginner to try get a handle on some of the various meanings and inversions etc. I also use Biddy Tarot as a reference, a couple of YouTube videos (when I first started I watched this + part 2 which really helped me understand how some of the cards relate to each other)... and of course this forum! I’m definitely looking to expand …

Does anyone here have experience with the Everyday Tarot Deck and the accompanying book? Is it of good quality? I like the art and interpretations and someday might like adding it to my collection. Thanks!

I was just curious if anybody has the Ma’at and what they like about it? It doesn’t seem to have classic RWS symbolism, but some of the images are evocative and it’s cool that it has lunar and astrological associations. Thanks!

Trevisan Crystal Tarot Lo Scarabeo 2004 my scanner and my eyes and the two narrow lines are all fighting. So I trimmed bottom border and bottom narrow image off. Now scanner/eyes/card are all getting along. Life is good :) Click on the image to enlarge it Edited to add: as sometimes happens with trimming the deck becomes a brick to shuffle. Not sorry I did it though.

For example, today I did a reading for myself in a highly personal topic. I decided to do a past, present, future layout since it’s one of the few that I know and because I felt like it could clarify everything that happened. The three cards I pulled don’t make much sense in a temporal way but they did clarify pretty well what the situation was and allowed me to see things that I hadn’t seen before. Is that valid?

I've just started reading for others, and find it hugely enjoyably & enlightening ... and hallelujah long may it continue. I've read 100's of different readings on here, other sites, aeclectic archives etc, and tried to study & learn as much as possible, and i'd like to ask the tarot people on here a question, and would much appreciate advice & wisdom. One of the most valuable lessons in life was that there are two sides to every story. Generally, in everyday life, i find people don't exactly lie, but they exaggerate say about how bad their ex is for example, or how unfair their boss is, then you find out the person's always late for work and slacks o…

I’ve been having such fun with my cards, reading, playing, and shuffling etc, and they’ve been giving me such energy recently! So without thinking it through, just as a sort of “checking in” thing, I asked them how they felt about me. I got an overwhelmingly wonderful response, but thinking about it afterwards, that could have backfired horribly X-D From there I began to wonder whether this was a “done” or “not done” thing in the Tarot community, so... Do you consider it a Tarot-no-no to ask your cards their opinion of you? Or do you check in with your cards? I’m super curious to find out if other readers have strong opinions about this!

I'm so interested to see people's thoughts on this subject - well, 2 subjects that are linked enough that I think it warrants sharing a poll and thread. You've got 2 votes: One to vote on how comfortable you are reading the cards for a querent, when you know that they've brought that question to other readers as well. One to vote on how likely you are to go to multiple readers with the same question. After you've voted, I'd love it if you shared your thoughts on your vote, if you're comfortable with chatting about it! I'd love to know about your experiences and feelings in these regards! I'll share my thoughts once there's a bit going on in here!
