Personally, I decline reading requests on health issues. Being a bit of a fitness nut, I know how important competent medical care is for our physical well-being. If someone asks if the growing tumor on their back is a legit medical concern or if they should just ignore it, I would say "get thee to thy good doctor now!" To be fair tho, I don't hesitate to read myself on my own health issues, but that's because I believe that ultimately we are all responsible for our personal health. While I'm pretty confident about my readings, there still exists the chance that I might misinterpret what the cards were saying. I don't want to give a reading that might make someone sick…

I’m thinking of maybe getting a new deck in the new year and was thinking that the beauty of the back of the card is every bit a part of the experience as having great details and beauty on the front of a card. Besides, most tarot deck references show card faces and not card backs as examples. Does anyone know one that shows both? Does anybody have a favorite card back they’d like to share? Thanks!

This trimming is not taking place out of aesthetical reasons. I actually really like how it looks visually, and it is already borderless. My issue is the size of it. I struggle with larger decks as I have achy hands. And since this is a deck I am so madly in love with I just knew there was no way that I wouldn’t try my best to trim it down to a more comfortable size. It took me a while to contemplate and plan it. I wanted to keep its proportions so I had to look at every card and measure how much I could remove. I settled on cutting away approximately 5mm per side. I’m gonna start by sharing a before-pic so you see what I’m talking about

just like to sit and shuffle? While watching a film, listening to music, etc.? Even when I am not reading, I will sit and shuffle decks. I am very tactile and like to shuffle, but it also helps me feel more connected to my decks. I guess like giving a friend a hug (( I enjoy the act of shuffling. It also has the side benefit of "breaking in" new decks and the cardstock. ANYONE else shuffle when NOT getting ready to read?

Hi all, I'm pretty new here so please bear with me if this is a silly question ::) Anyway, I'm kind of stuck on the associations with the suits... Swords = Air Wands = Fire Cups = Water Pentacles = Earth I can remember Cups = Water = Emotional depth, or Pentacles = Earth = Growing prosperity. But I can't see Swords as Air and Wands as Fire, in my mind it's the other way around. I guess I just think of Swords not only being by smoldering heat, but also representing destructive power, like fire. Where as Wands feels much more airy to me, as you direct a wand through the air with intention and focus, causing invisible change, like wind. So... I'm just w…

Hi, I'm fairly new to tarot reading, although I've owned my deck for 20 years. I recently decided to delve in deeper. I've been reading spreads that show a fulfilling relationship in my future, but there is a fog over whether this is a reconciliation or not. I do keep seeing reconciliation as a suggestion, but I'm not sure if this is my own bias or not. Can anyone recommend a specific spread to help me clarify whether this relationship is new or reconciled. Thank you.

Hi. Just wondering how many readings can you do in a day? Is it Ok to do a couple readings per day? Able to use different decks depending on the reading? I'm looking for daily/monthly spread ideas. Thanks

I saw this on the sidebar of Benbell Wen's blog yesterday, swoony! would anyone have the pattern to replicate? Looks like the starts of pineapples, but it has been years since I've crocheted. I lust for this!

Hello, I am interested in hearing different perspectives on what the Judgment and Sun combo could mean in a love reading. To me, the Judgment card is pretty inward, like someone reflecting upon something or the situation at hand. Maybe the Sun card is them coming to a positive conclusion? Or is it feeling good about letting go? Or feeling good about what the see before them? Since I have seen the Judgment card in reference to analyzing and letting go, but is this always the case?

Sorry, I know that subject line isn't very clear, but I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. Have you ever been "haunted" by a card that kept appearing both upright, then reversed, then upright, etc? I'm new to tarot, but this keeps happening to me and I'm not sure what to make of it. The general idea behind recurring cards seems pretty clear to me, but I don't know what the flip-flopping might suggest. Maybe it signifies a lack of commitment? Or maybe I'm projecting? Or maybe just confusion in general? I'm not asking for a reading on any specific card; I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing and if anyone has thoughts on this trend i…

Hey everyone. I've been watching several different people do readings and I'm working on starting at the basics with a three card spread with my RWS deck. (I decided to save the Thoth for later). It seems to me that the major arcana can be tricky to read because it's tempting to put too much emphasis on them in the intrepration. After all they have big, more archetypial meanings and more flashy artwork. Here's an example. A person asked for a reading and asked about information about finding thier spirit guide. The past/present/future three card spread I got was Devil-ace of cups-five of swords. It was real tempting to see the devil and freak out. This wa…

Hi everyone X/ I have a question that I'd love some insight and/or tips to. Do you read tarot for your own personal questions? I've tried to read them for myself, but I'm afraid to somehow influence the energy of the reading. So I was just wondering if it's a common use to do self-readings, and if so...any tips so that the reading can be as non "judgemental" as possible? (Hope I'm making sense here LOL). Thank you!

For me, I like to use the 3 cards spread. I find that easy. Sometimes, though, I use the celtic cross.

Hi everyone. Does anyone else ever get Tarot fatigue? I was trying to work with the cards last night, and I couldn't make any sense of them at all. Not only that, for a while I felt like I never wanted to see another Tarot card ever again. It was really frustrating, and I finally just gave up for the night. Do you ever feel like this, and if you do, how do you deal with it?

Is anyone familiar with a site WTarot, that sells decks? It seems...not quite legit to me? (I apologize in advance and will eat my words if it is.) It just seems odd that they say they have an OOP deck like Roots of Asia for $58, and then they have an IN print deck like Dreams of Gaia for...$68? Anyone have experience with this site?

In my area of the country, tonight is the full moon, and the lunar eclipse will also begin at 11:41PM EST. Imagine my delight when the first card in my spread this morning was The Moon, and the "bonus" card (one that popped out while I was shuffling) was the Ace of Coins. Which kind of looks like the face a full moon :) I've been fortunate to witness a total lunar eclipse before. Tonight's may or may not be visible; right now we have varying levels of cloud cover, and pretty heavy winds to boot. But the anticipation is still exciting. It's been a while since I've charged any of my decks with a full moon. I'll be honest: I'm still not sure where I fall on the spiritual …

I was asking on a goal I have for June of 2019 to move with the family to the place of my dreams-right by the ocean; my daughter is 100% on board my husband is kinda unsure he's weird about change. -__- Not the adventurous sort but oh well...anyway have been working on manifesting and creating these past few months and asked about potential outcome in one deck (my new shadowscape deck) Got the king of cups which..might be wishful thinking but first thought from the imagery was living by the water (my goal is moving right by the ocean) then clarifier was 4 of wands; I see this as a celebration; the new home and feeling the joy and achievement in that...I was journalling fo…

After a heavenly reading, have you ever eagerly awaited the arrival of the 2 of Cups into your life and your dream lover, only to look at yourself in the mirror one morning, and think: "Man, I feel like a woman!" or vise-versa if you happen to be a woman... as Jung's Anima & Animus pays you a visit. Or awaited the tranquility of the 10 of Cups only to find out it's reefer psychosis. Or perhaps it was The Tower you dreaded, only to put a coin into the slots at a casino and win the jackpot...The Tower would be The house falling about you in bankruptcy. This we have named The Spin, when the small amount of dark in the fluffy card pays you an unsuspected visit, or …

Hi all, I'm trying to track down a deck of Tarot cards for my wife I'm hoping you guys can help me.. Ok quick backstory, whilst staying with friends in France on vacation, our friend had a pack of Tarot cards on his shelf. My wife says oh I can read Tarot, (news to me!) allow me to show you the basics.. So she did an example reading for him. He drew some cards and she read them leaving him and his partner (and myself) gobsmacked. It was very accurate and left everyone a tad awkward. I later asked my wife about this, she said her great grandmother taught her and she used to read everyones cards in the village as a teenager. She also said our friends cards didn't…

I'm trying to find a reliable android app that gives accurate card explanations, a good range of different spreads and allows for user shuffling and card selection for spreads, and collates data to be able to provide information about trends in your readings. I want to use it as a learning tool. What is your favourite app, and why? Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

I feel like I'm in this huge pitch black cavern in my life. I don't know how big it is. I don't know where the walls are. It's so dark I can't tell up from down. I want to know what's coming, something solid to grasp onto, but even the tarot cards don't seem to know. So I feel like I'm asking the wrong questions, but I asked the cards what I should be asking and I don't get an answer. Or at least I should clarify that I'm getting circular answers. A leads to B, B leads to C, and C leads to A. I understand about free choice and how it means the future isn't set. And so I go round and round. Has anyone experienced this and did you ever find the question you need…

How do you shuffle your cards? Do you cut them by hands or fan them out or do something else? And why do you choose to shuffle your cards the way you do?

Melissa Jo Hill (formerly SassySibyl of Melissa Lenormand fame) has a new website up and running and is offering a free 30 day Tarot course. Thirty Days of Tarot From her blog post: I’ve created this course, not to be an introduction to Tarot, but rather, to be an introduction to the kind of play and immersion that’s possible with the Tarot. Each day, a new lesson will be published on the site (and students will get this via email as well). The lessons include invitations to dig in, each day, to create a daily Tarot practice that incorporates the cards in different areas of life—from the ritual to the mundane. :)
