Hi all X/ I wonder what time of the day you do your readings? From both astrology and astronomy (Einstein's spacetime) I know that time and place are important. That's why I needed to find out the right time to do them, and after some silent prayer I found out that 1 am or 1 pm would be right. Do you have any specific time of the day you do your readings?

Stolen right from some videos I've seen on YouTube, lets talk about the most misunderstood cards in tarot! What cards do you feel are misunderstood? How do you explain them? For me, one of the big ones is Death, and it's a double-whammy. First there's the obvious, when people don't read tarot or are new to it and they worry that it's literal. Nope, it usually isn't a card that is foreboding your imminent Death! But... I think it's also misrepresentated when you turn a complete 180 and say that if it isn't literally about Death, then it has to be about Rebirth. I feel like sometimes it gets softened too far, and that can actually be damaging in a reading because in life…

I never remember the readings I've done for clients once the reading is over with and some time passes. I've heard other readers say the same. The best I can do is refer to any notes I might have made in the previous reading but I don't usually take notes. (Speaking of online readings.) So, I thought it would be interesting to post a thread so others can share about what their experience is with this. For those who have had clients or sitters who assume you remember a previous reading you've done for them, what's the reaction you've gotten when you tell them you don't remember?

DO I believe this or not ? Just received it from the Tarot Association (of which I am not a member but I still get this stuff !) https://www.dropbox.com/s/qe3wsnd81t75pz9/article%2078.pdf?dl=0 Their reaction seems rather over the top, or am I naive ?

For those of you who have a blog about tarot, what is it that you include in your blog? How often do you post? How did you start? I've been debating about blogging about my journey with tarot.

Ok, firstly to clarify what I mean by beginner decks: Exhibit A: The Simple Tarot, Beginner Version Exhibit B: The Apprentice Tarot Decks that have keywords on the cards, more or less, enough that they make interpreting the card without prior learning viable, or make recall of the card's fuller meaning easier. So, my question is basically, what do people think of the idea of using these kinds of decks in a professional context? Both from the perspective of reader, and from the perspective of potential client. Incoming thought prompts, don't feel compelled to answer them all. Are these decks off-putting? Do they imply that a reader is new or unable to read the…

Tarot often shows up in dreams for me, sometimes just as a reading being part of the dream, sometimes as the scene I'm in being straight out of a deck, sometimes just a card floating to me that I pocket and just keep going in dreamland... Most recent was a pretty realistic dream of giving a reading to a girl who's just been dumped and using a spread of my own creation that looks at the relationship and lessons. It just slipped right to the last cards, a Future card for each of them, where she got The Tower and he had Death, which seemed pretty pertinent toa breakup. It's left me enjoying mulling over the similarities and differences between the two cards. Tarot dre…

A daily three card spread. A TdM deck. The question, simple, What will happen today? Card one, What is the theme of my day? Ace of Swords. Then card two, Q= what is hidden? High Preistess. (Popes) Card three Q: Advice, Hierophant (Pope) They are facing each other in the spread. With the Popes and all she represents, mainly with things being unclear, Isolating herself to clear her busy mind and open for suggestions, under the What is hidden number two position, also being number two with all its meanings, to have the Pope laid at position three for Advice. With all his intuition and reasoning, representing the genius of good, looking the Popes right back in the e…

So, I understand the nature of the elements and how they pertain to the suits. I understand which elements are complimentary and which are opposing, but what does that actually mean? My readings have been fairly balanced in terms of elements up until this point. Today I did a Celtic Cross spread which was about half and half, fire and water. I know those two elements as being opposing, weakening each other and resulting in steam. But what the heck does that actually mean? What is being weakened or strengthened exactly? Is it a cause for conflict? How does one interpret the positions of the cards vs. the elements that they are presenting in terms of their interactions…

This could have gone in so many different areas, but I decided on "Tarot - Discuss Tarot in all Forms » Using Tarot » Tarot Meanings", as it is an extension of the topic "Birth Cards - Fact or Fiction?" Who else sometimes uses an additional Significator by adding up the numerical values of their name? You can use a generator like this one: http://astrologyfutureeye.com/fortune-tellers/name-numerology-calculator Mine is Empress. I don't use this method all the time, but when these cards show up in a reading, I use them as if a planet were in a Rulership: This card feels "at home" and may be more likely to fulfill its role in a reading. My Soul urge, is also …

Hi all :-) Excuse for being so stupid about tarot, but I have all these questions I wonder about. I feel this strong thirst for knowing more about tarot. This time I have a question about The Hermit. I have seen images of him holdning a lamp. Does that mean anything? And if so, what does it mean and symbolize? Can anyone help me? PS! Thanks for your patience with me. :-[

What if a tarot deck could answer just one question for you in deep detail and with complete accuracy? Say that all of the common disclaimers are gone, the future it tells IS set in stone, the soul mate you seek comes with a name and address, you feel the tightness of the corset from a past life, the spirit you speak to rises in front of your eyes, the thoughts from your crush fill your mind… what would you dare to ask? What are you brave enough to really know?

I am not sure what is happening or why, maybe I am just having confidence issues, but I feel really disconnected with readings for others for the last couple of days. I have read for myself for years and several months ago started studying the cards to a greater depth than just the one deck and one book I had. I read pretty much intuitively from only that deck and book for years. When I first started reading for other people, my ideas were still fresh, and I went into it not knowing if it would be helpful to anyone or not, but the feedback was amazing. Some people wrote back pages about how the readings resonated with them, told me I had a gift and so on...I took that …

So like reading tarot cards while skydiving, right? Nah just kidding, I'm more talking about reading cards past their traditional meanings. It's taking what you that know of a card, and going beyond that to nearly the other side - so, almost like reading a reversal, but ... not really. You'll end up seeing the dark side of a "lighter" card, and the silver lining of a darker card, often, but not in the normal reversal sort of way. Let me go into it here, using the 10 of Cups as an example. That's pretty much as idealistic of a card as you can get! Mom & Dad, 2 children dancing, a little house on property with a stream... They've got it all! The perfect,…
