It's my birthday in about a week so I wondered if any of you have any fun spreads I could try out? My Wild Unknown has a suggestion for a year ahead-spread with 13 cards so that's a candidate, but maybe you know of anything else :)

Hi guys, happy to be in this forum. I wanted to share a spread I tried from the shadowscapes tarot book. It could be used for a new job, friendship... The combination of cards was really interesting, let me know what you think. *****5***** 3*********4 ***1***2*** 1. READY: This card represents a way in which you are ready for love to come into your life. 2. OR NOT: This card shows a way that you are not ready for love. To draw love into your life, consider this card carefully. 3. DO IT: Turn to this card for advice on a step you can take to put yourself in the path of love. 4. STOP IT: Consider this card as a warning about something you actively do …

Whenever I'm afraid, I feel intimidated and paralyzed; I can't even take one step forward. So I created this spread to help me understand and break free of my fears. I hope it helps you too. ----------6 --------5-- ------4---- …

I recently got told to look back 4 generations into female ancestors on my mother's side (with me being generation 0). So I came up with the following: Using ONLY court cards, pull a card for you and for each of the ancestors you want to look into and define who they are. Read them according to characteristics like suits, position in court, details on the card, etc. Look for character insights or a common thread weaving through the generations. I found readings I did this way very illuminating! (for me those were, for example: 0 - me -1 - my mother -2 - her mother -3 - her grand-mother -4 - my mother's great-grand-mother I never met any of them beyond my grandmother …

Does any prefer something other than Celtic cross spreads for love readings
-
In every book I have read so far there is the Celtic Cross. I haven't tried it yer because of the number of cards. But it intrigues me why it is so popular. What is the value of a big spread like this that you don't find in smaller spreads?

I'm looking to add some two-card spreads to my repertoire...anyone have favorites? :)

This is more of an idea than an actual spread, but I thought I would share it in case anyone is interested. The intention is to do a chakra-check up where you lay out one or more cards to review the state of each chakra. I started by taking out the Animal Spirit deck since it has 7 trump cards that represent each of the chakras. I placed them in a row, ordered from the first to the seventh chakra (left to right, but you can also place them vertically, starting at the bottom and going up. I just did not have enough space to do that). I also added corresponding crystals to further enhance and tap into the separate energies. Below these I then drew and placed cards from …

Happy Autumn/Mabon everyone! This is a spread to use when you're going through a period of transition. ------3---4---5------ ---2-------------6---- ------1-------7----------8 1.The green leaf-the situation that's about to change. 2.The leaf in transition-the beginning of and the nature of the change. 3.The orange leaf-a word of encouragement on how you can successfully adapt to your new situation. 4.The red leaf-how you can find courage and stay strong through t…

January is a good time to calculate your card of the year. Simply add the numbers of this year (2026) + your birth month + your birthday, and keep adding the numbers until the sum is smaller than 22. For me, it's 14, Temperance, which I can reduce further and get 5, the Hierophant. Now that's very nice since I'm a Taurus with a rising Sagittarius, so two of my strong astrological influences show up for me this year. Does anybody else do that? I'm not big into numbers, but a Card of the Year is good to know. It can give you a first whiff of what the year's about to bring. Temperance is always a good card for me, it means that things are moving at …

Hey guys! I'm most positive that there's a spread out there very similar to this one, but I created a spread that seems to work very well for me on forecasting the week ahead in a bit more detail with less cards! A quick rundown in text as well! 1. Overall Theme - This is what the overall theme of the week will be! 2. What to Do - This is what you should do over the course of that week, whether it be a physical activity, or mental prep, what have you! 3. Insight/Advice - This will act as a clarification for card #2, giving you some insight as to why you must do this, what to look out for, or advice on how to do it! 4. What NOT to Do - This is what you should…

I am new here so I hope this is the right forum to post this in. On New Year's Eve I wanted to do a spread to map out the energies of the upcoming year. Could anyone suggest their favorite new year spreads? I would love to see all of the different ones you all know and come up with!

The Grand Tarot Tableau Despite the number of cards dealt, it doesn't have to be a long reading unless you'd like it to be. There are several cards that I don't read in this type of spread. The cards are laid in rows as you would Lenormand, after first selecting card(s) that represents the subject(s) you want to focus on. You read the cards surrounding the pre-selected subject matter card and notice which cards are far away. That's the extent of overlap with Lenormand methods. I read the cards as I normally would for tarot. You could do this with a majors only deck if you're happy for a major to represent your focus. I like to use the majors, a minor (or multiple mino…

I've been asked to do a tarot reading for future and I don't know which spread to use. The past present and future 3 card seems too small. I find it easier if I have a specific question, but general future is harder. So which spread is best?

Hi, I came across an interesting inner child spread (@ https://curiousthings.org/therapy-blog/tarot-as-therapy scroll down almost all the way), but it doesn't say, in which order the cards should be drawn. I mailed the author, but didn't yet hear from her yet, so I am asking here. Does it matter in which order the cards are drawn? Or is it simply more important to focus on the meaning of the position (for which the card is drawn)?

X/ at first it may seem daunting to make your own spread. I actually thought when I started out that we were not supposed to make our own spreads but was supposed to stick to old celtic cross or some other spread already made up. then I saw more spreads being put to use in tarot companions books like the Arthurian tarot by Matthews had some great ones. just doing a search for tarot spreads on amazon see about 10 to 15 books listed.. why create your own spread when there are so many awesome books ? you may not have a spread book with you (though if you download them on kindle I suppose you have supply of spreads if you order every bok ). the spread may not fit th…

In my view, tarot is not about 'predicting' something in the full sense of the word as much as disclosing future tendencies. But the question is... how far in the future? Let us exclude certain spreads, which, f.e, are specified for 3 or for 6 months. My question is mainly concerned with spreads based on the Celtic Cross or the three cards (past, present, future).

Hi :-) This is a spread I have used a lot - especially when it comes to revealing the hidden agenda of people that I know. It's good to use so you know who you should trust or not. I will show the spread before I comment my own experiences with it. Here is the spread: 7 cards - use your own pattern, but read them from 1 to 7. I just pick 7 cards and read them one by one. Find the person you want to read about and think of him/her. Pick a card for every one of these positions: 1) Inspiration 2) Motives 3) Intention 4) Hidden agenda 5) Strong spots 6) Weak spots 7) Goal I did this spread for some friends and family. My best friend got the Ace o…

here is the spread. 0. soul message 1. what 2. how 3. when 4. where 5. why 6. who 7, 8, 9, three other things to know 10 the outcome. this spread isnt' written in stone,, it was designed to find people, to find murderers, to figure out how things were done. you can interchange what to who and vice versa. to put extra emphasis on what aspect you want to work on,, the main thing is to have all these points in the spread. also the soul message is important for if a court card come up then look for political reasons or people. (the who card becomes more important) if the soul message shows a major arcana card,, then obiviously we are dealing m…

My birthday is tomorrow, 12/31. Any favorite spreads for a birthday that aren’t a year ahead spread? I was looking online and too many were similar or the same as a new year spread and that’s redundant for me. If I’m turning 42, does that mean it’s s Sun year or a Judgement year? I was born in 76 if that helps. Thanks for any suggestions.

It’s not really a spread, more of a method. But anyway, here it is! First off, try to figure your stalker card out. Meditate with it, freewrite based on it, read the LWB, check out how others have interpreted the same card, ask a friend, etc… When you’re sick of all that and you want more depth, then move on to the next step! Take that bloody irritating card and tell it what you want (I like to sob-scream “But what do you meeeeaaannnn?” at it, personally), then shuffle it back into your deck - FACE UP. Shuffle it in real good. Don’t peek while shuffling, though, you don’t want to see where the card is until you’re totally done with shuffling. When you’re throu…
