I'm in!  I'm going to take a look right now at Grace's schedule to see where we are at and that will get me cracking at it.

Looking forward to sharing with you all.

Cheers.

I should say, as I suggested to Gardener, I am happy starting anywhere really.  Picking up where the schedule left off is fine with me as we then have dates and cards already delineated well into 2021.  If we start from the beginning, we can follow the format but may get lost in the ill matching dates.  Up to all of you as I'm the new kid.  Let me know!!

@Flaxen, @6xscorpio, and @Rupicapra,

It looks like we have someone new interested in joining the 78 week study.  I was wondering if any of you might be interested in picking up again?  I think we might follow @SheBeast 's suggestion and just pick up where @Grace 's schedule says we should be by now.  Who knows where that is!  Shebeast, which cards would we be on, this week?  I'd be willing to start up again and see how far we get this time.  I know January was a particularly difficult month for many people (myself included) and a lot of projects got put on hold.  But it might be fun to do a few study cards and see if the energy comes back.  Anybody interested?

As always, anyone is free to join, and free to jump in wherever.  Thanks to Trogon back in 2017, each of the cards has a thread, so you can add to the existing conversation at any time.  No pressure!

Leading up to this Sunday would be the Six of Cups followed by The Chariot beginning next week.  Looking forward to it and doing a bit of reading right now as a matter of fact!

Cheers and thanks Gardener

I’ve got notes on a few of the previous cards I need to type up. I’ve been squeezed for time with having to do homeschooling since Christmas. I’ll try and get those posted in the next few days and am then happy to pick up where we would be in the schedule according to the date.

Yes!!!! January was insane for me - as I'm sure it was for most of us. Very keen to try and get back into it.... this Sunday the 14th... Valentines Day... starts the week of The Chariot!

Not sure yet if I will have the capacity to try and catch up on those cards that I missed (do two a week for a little while perhaps), or leave them right at the end.... I'll see how I feel on Sunday.

Hello Grace, Flaxen and all.  Well met.  I am truly excited to get into the meat of this.  Feeling very inspired I am.

Ok, I’ll try. December was hard, January was rough, but the days are getting longer, work is becoming somewhat normal again and I got more energy again. Some days at least. I might not be able to do every card, but I’ll try to take part as much as I can. Happy to start anywhere.

Hey, I have been following this with lots of interest - if you are restarting, can I join as well, please?

Thank you! Feels fitting for me to start with The Chariot next week! 😉

So just to be sure I understand it right - there is a pdf schedule somewhere (I saw it in a post here somewhere, but can't find it at the moment), and then each week (Monday to Sunday? Sunday to Saturday?) we all explore that card from the schedule in the deck we chose, and then write about it in the card thread on this part of the forum: https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/forum/52-78-weeks-of-tarot/ - right? Anything else I would need to know?

Great to have you.

the schedule is the last post at the end of this thread, it is attached as pdf

We each chose a deck we want to work with and then sometime during the week you post about the card. We spoke about using Mary K Greer’s book 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card to give ideas for ways of how to look at the card, but there are no rules really. @Gardener uses two decks, I (try to) make up stories. Really you can do whatever feels good to you. I find it is quite a personal exercise, but you can use it for whatever you like. It is ok to comment on other people’s posts as well.

Hello @Ekati, @SheBeast and @le_charior

This study group is meant to be a loose container to hold your efforts to get to know your cards in a new way.  You can really make it anything you want it to be.  Most of us have chosen one deck to work with for 78 weeks, although I think a couple people have switched decks midstream.  I personally am trying to work with two decks as a comparative study, but maybe I will simplify down to one.  Some of us are working with the book "21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card" by Mary Greer - choosing 2-3 of the 21 ways to work with the card of the week, each week.  For example, @Rupicapra chose the way of making up a story with the card, which has been totally fun to witness.  Other people are exploring Quabbalah or astrology or other correspondences.  @Grace's schedule gives us a new card to focus on each week.  Tomorrow starts The Chariot, and we have a week to explore the card.  I think it's the Seven of Wands next Sunday.

Trogon made a thread for each card, so you can post your thoughts on your card in the appropriate thread.  If 3 or 4 of us each post on the same card, from our different decks, it's quite wonderful to see all the similarities and differences.  Most of us post an image of the card, too.

Happy to have you joining us, and bringing new life to this study!

Wonderful advice, thank you. Looking really forward to this. I find that sometimes I can take a deck for granted and really skim over the art and look only to the quick interpretations rather than really explore the depths of it. I’m excited to dig deep Into a deck with this group study!  The Chariot awaits.

Yes that is really wonderful, to give everybody space for their own ideas how to approach this study group, but to hopefully inspire each other and learn from everybody.

Thanks for having me, and looking forward to it! With this I am off to post some general notes on the deck(s) I will be using here:

Wow that week went by fast.  7 of Wands next week.  I shuffled and looked for it just now and I was inspired by @le_charior to pull the cards before and after....ridiculously spot on to what's been going on in the last 24 hours.  I absolutely love how the single card for the study suddenly became a more dynamic and moving piece on the chessboard of my life.  I will include a pic and interpretation of the 7 with its spread mates in my post later this week.  Thanks so much for the idea le-charior!

Yes, that went by fast! I had a very enjoyable time with my first week. 77 Weeks to go - off to look at the 7 of Wands now too!

And how cool you got an interesting reading out of this way of reading the cards - I was inspired to do it by @timtoldrum who called it "The Lost Man Spread" - but I can't remember in which thread anymore, so I can't take credit for the spread! Just for the idea of including it into my 78 Weeks study post. Now I am really looking forward to seeing your reading with it at the end of the week!

And curious to see if other folks will jump (back) on the 78 Weeks train with us!

Hey all, I'm having to come out of the 78 weeks for now. I would have loved to get back into and keep going on with it, but I'm struggling to fit the schedule in. My work is pretty much back to normal now, plus studying part time next to full time work is at the moment keeping me busy enough. I will try to still keep going through the cards, but I'll not be going along the schedule, but rather pickup the odd card when it comes over me.

Keep going everybody! I'm still reading the posts and absolutely enjoying it.
