Did you purchase a new one or did you buy second hand? I have heard that Stella has reprinted it as a deck+book set but I believe it’s just for the Japanese market. It’s a great deck though (I should know, I own several copies of it 😋). So hopefully you’ll recover from the fees and can get all excited about your purchase again! 😉

Yes, don't interpret me too literally. The postman is doing a good job; he didn't make the rules. But it feels good to whine, a little 😩☺️

It's a new deck. Bought from Japan. The deck is made in Belgium (AGM AGMüller), in addition, a Japanese LWB is added (I can see through the plastic - I haven't opened yet. I'm not very good at opening new decks 😁).

I thought it was a good deal, until, as I wrote, my country's authorities interfered with the deal, adding almost 50% extra.

But I have bought quite a few decks over the past year, and this is just the second deck I have paid import fees on, so overall I've escaped quite cheaply 😄

No I think it was a fair deal. It appears like if the second printing from Japan is making its way here and that’s a good thing. The prices got really ridiculous for a while. Have you checked out the Korean tv show “mawang/Lucifer” where this deck has a major role? The whole series is free on YouTube with English subtitles. It’s worth just watching the intro to see this deck in action:

My 78 Tarot Elemental arrived today, from Kickstarter... about to crack it open.

 

Looks like I've got a bonus envelope and some bookmarks.  Never have too many bookmarks!

 

So pretty - there's a magnetic clasp box and gold-edged cards.  Oh, extra cards - I guess this is an 81 Tarot Elemental, after all.

I've got a pile of new decks on my desk - The 78 Tarot Elemental, the 'This Might Hurt' Tarot -which has a magnetic clasp box and is pretty marvelous, and 'The Slow Tarot'.  I'm all up on Tarotty goodness.

 

And I'm backing Ian Miller's Grim Tarock as well.  Lovely and intricate ink drawings, and really cheap compared to a lot of decks these days.

This is my first RWS deck (clone)!  Never felt drawn to RWS but I adore the people in this deck. I love it.

I think I'll receive the 5-Cent Tarot by Madam Clara next week (it is likely already on the way). I hope its whimsy will uplift my interest in Tarot.

 

And I ordered a deck of Russian playing cards by Piatnik (Amazon said that this item is "not appropriate for children under the age of 3", so here I interpret this as a good omen! lol)

I have some project with Russian cartomancy... The Russian folklore inspires me, there is a vibe or something, well 🙂

Oh, are the 5-cent decks being sent out @Decan? I completely forgot about mine. I'm still waiting for my Spooky Cats deck which was supposedly shipped 4 days ago, after disappointingly missing the Halloween target date.

 

(Also, i don't know if anyone else noticed, but the Spooky Cats creator is already blatantly cribbing some of the designs for this deck to make a new deck she's also Kickstarting, which makes both decks feel less special to me, although the designs for this deck are all hand-illustrated. How do you guys feel about images being recycled between decks? )

 

Also, @Decan, do you by any chance have the Lubok / Russian Tarot? It's such gorgeous warm folksy energy, and even though I can't read any of the text at all, I just love it. Haha.

I posted this on another thread that may have gotten buried so I want to let members know:  The Minoan Tarot by Lorenzi-Prince is on sale for 20% off, and I ordered myself a copy (at 3am,  just as my meds were kicking in:  a dangerous time to be ordering anything!).  Very quick shipping.  I got it today!  I adore "Minoan" lines and colors.  Such celebration!  I had a Greek-descended roommate once.  She and her sister looked exactly like Minoan princesses:  ripply black hair, the nose, high breasts and impossibly wasp-waists.  The art doesn't lie, they really looked like that.  Here's what I ordered deck and book set

@bookshop just to let you know that I had an update and the creator already sent 200 decks (over 1200!), so maybe everything will take a few weeks.
