bookshop Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 I went through a 6-month cooling off-period re buying decks after my last one but I recently splurged and bought the Tarot Noire and the Jonasa Jaus, two decks I've wanted for ages, in one moment of spontaneity. They should get here on Monday or Tuesday and I'm very chuffed!

The colors are amazing. I have not ventured into Lenormand. It is lovely.

I do not have the deck and would I'd love to hear what about it speaks to you.

What I didn't realize was the deck is actually bridge-sized, like his Lenormand I'm assuming. I mean it's a nice set w a color booklet and magnetic box, but bridge-sized Tarot? Well the pips are just styled playing cards but I was expecting at least poker-size w these. Anyway I like them enough esp for a Marseille I like them. They will be easy to pack and carry. And the 6 magnets are nice. Been a long time since I've bought cards, or seems long. ♦️🌮

I mean it's a nice set w a color booklet and magnetic box, but bridge-sized Tarot? I don't have that one, but I have several other Tarots in bridge and poker size. I actually prefer that size, as I have the option to do larger spreads without getting down on the floor. Poker size is necessary for some Tarots. The Greenwood comes to mind, but I had mine printed up with no title bars, so they're short and fat. But I think bridge size is more attractive, less clunky-looking. It's perfect for the TdM format. 💖 16 hours ago, bastetly said: They will be easy to pack and carry. Exactly! No brick in the purse, lol. And from what I'm reading at the USG site, the guidebook is excellent. Enjoy!
HighPriestess Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I just ordered the Star Spinner Tarot and am very excited for the Dark Wood Tarot and the Messages from the Mermaids Oracle by Karen Kay!
gregory Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I have a package on he way from DHL. I have no recollection of anything I ordered that wasn't just mail, so that's interesting. But I too ordered the Star Spinner.
CharlotteK Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Waiting for a new Thoth. I gave away all my copies a good while ago, convinced that I would NEVER have any motivation to do the study. Now I suddenly find that I want to learn.

I have the Star Spinner also! I really like it! It could be more diverse but it is a fun deck anyway. I also bought the Urban Tarot and finally the Spirit Animal Oracle.

Decan Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I'm waiting a deck of Gypsy cards (Cigany Kartya) from Hungary; likely I'll receive it next week. The back isn't wonderful but the drawings are nice. The second edition of Madam Clara is processing well apparently (the back will be beautiful I think, I saw a pic), but this won't be for this month, too soon.
Venus Rising Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 After a bit of a tarot hiatus, I just received the Celtic Tarot by Kristoffer Hughes and the new Gilded Tarot Royale mass market edition by Ciro. 🥰
stephanelli Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 The postman brought me the Wild Unknown Tarot this week! So exciting! Really enjoying getting to know it 😊 And I can't get over that beautiful 3 of Wands!!!

I have always been arrested by the color scheme and design and imagery of that deck in particular; I just find it really lovely, intricate, and unusual! And I find it even lovelier in person. I am happy to share other photos with you if you like, but atm I am here to celebrate a true unboxing! I was running around this forum last year flailing about the Sabbath Tarot and it's finally here and to me it is really something special. NSFW imagery ahead! Very happy with this, it was worth the wait. Edited June 26, 2020 by bookshop

I ended up passing on this deck myself (I was THIS close to getting it before I was deenabled haha) Edited June 28, 2020 by Venus Rising Tagged the person :)
Niobium Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 My Silhouettes Tarot First Ed 'defective' came the other day, and I have to admit, it took me a while to see the defects Masa decided meant they weren't first cut. If you look very, very closely, you can see the lamination on a few of the cards isn't perfect. ...I'll be honest, I've received mass produced decks of lesser quality. So, you know, it's not a Second Edition but I'm very pleased! If any of you were wanting a copy of this and haven't been able to scare up one elsewise, there should be a few left in the online shop: http://www.signorrino.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54 I also grabbed a copy of the Student Stained Glass Tarot, which is such an adorable pocket sized deck. I love it. ❤️
Venus Rising Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 As seems to be a pattern of mine, LOL, I’m once again on a tarot buying spree. Today, I received the Robin Wood tarot deck and book. It’s been on my list forever and a day, and I finally decided to grab it. I really hated the looks of the backs online, (it was kind of a deal breaker for me, actually, which is why I put off picking them up for so long haha) but in person, they’re not as bad as I thought..... Or maybe I’ve just had one too many cocktails LOL

Ahh, I'm not really great at noticing cardstock, but for this deck the stock is very thick with a nice satiny matte finish! I didn't notice earlier also that there are little hidden embossed sigils in each card. it's quite nice. Quote My Silhouettes Tarot First Ed 'defective' came the other day, and I have to admit, it took me a while to see the defects Masa decided meant they weren't first cut. I love this deck very much! I hunted around for a non-defective edition and it took me forever to find one, they don't seem to pop up very often, so if the defective edition isn't really all that defective then definitely everyone should consider this deck. It's just absolutely gorgeous. And I believe Masa has said he won't make another version of it, so this is all there is.
