It's funny how on the fence I am about some decks, and then I get them and I'm like, 'Why was this even a reluctant purchase??' I'm not sure how it will hold up, but a benefit of having numerous decks is, well...I don't have to worry about using some of them too much, I guess? 😄 We'll see.

Plus, I have backed the Cosma Visions on Kickstarter. No, I haven't won the lottery. I just had some savings I wanted to blow, as a last blast before Brexit and the Recession. I haven't bought any decks since the Splendour Solis a year ago, so I think I'm making up for lost time😃

Place) Mythical Creatures (Baba Studios) Spacious Tarot 2nd edition (Ruygt and Mallon) Mary-El 2nd edition reprint (Mary White) To be clear, I've not got any prior editions of any of these, so this isn't a "keeping current" kind of thing. It was probably my local post office because they've been really incompetent lately. I'm really bummed out because I can't find it anywhere now, just the mini deck. RIP, sweet deck.

Over the last three days I have had notification that my payment (of a pre-order made 10 days ago and which was acknowledged as valid at the time) was declined, checked my paypal and the attached credit card, where it has gone through just fine. been told that not to worry, my money has NOT been taken, and been notified that the order on which my payment was declined has been mailed. And today the help desk has reassured me that my money has not been, and will not be, taken.... Watching with interest..... (This, by the way, is with an outstanding UK bookstore where I have shopped since the 1960s, and where I had an account until they stopped doing them in the same way. It's weird. When (if) the deck arrives I have a long email ready to go to someone above that help desk....)

But I researched the ISBN and concluded it should be the borderless version. And I can confirm: I got some beautiful borderless Pagan Cats in the mailbox!

I ordered the companion book, too. Back when I got the first edition, I read the LWB and decided to pass on the companion book. What really put me off was the positive spin on this: Yes, we have that 6P motif of the generous benefactor bestowing a boon. But he's a cat. And the kids are mice. We know what cats do to mice. "Hey little girl, ya want some candy?" is quite sinister here. But Karen says she's rewritten some things, and I've learned over the years to trust her judgement. In earlier days, I never got the companion books, but now I always do. So I trust her to at least mention that this particular gift might have some hella strings attached. 🤣

And I ordered the book too (generally I always add the companion book for the reasons behind artistic choices on the cards, apart the meanings of course), but it will be a standard deck for me, while this limited edition looks stunning (the back will be too!). Likely the publisher is currently making the decks, or next week.

I can watch endless documentaries on the making of this or that record album and the like. And the Baba books feed a similar appetite. The companion books for the Bohemian Gothic and the Victorian Romantic address where they found the images and often, why a particular image was chosen, and the books for the Alice Tarot and the BB Cats gives us a window into the work of setting up those shots and digitally altering them into the Tarots we know and love today. . It is probably my own skewed perception, affected by lockdown, but the post and carriers seem less reliable. Things have got lost, things have arrived broken, I’m sure more than usual. I don't usually go for the collage/photo decks, but I was seduced by its beauty and the connection to moon magic. I won't use it for readings. This one is for me to muse and meditate with. Looking through it, I'm already getting that trance like feel... On another note, feel free to rejoice with me, I have got my hands on a Wild Green Chagallian deck!! complete with paper and signed poem card. Who Hoo! It was always on my wish list, but I wasn't very hopeful. 🥂🍾 🤩
