Get it, get it, get it! πŸ˜€ It’s one of my favourite reading decks. I read it RWS style as it follows it very closely with the minors.Β

Thank you for your help (further enabling πŸ₯° 😜) @Flaxen @gregory and @Therese, definitely going to get Le Tarot de Marseille-Waite. I love RWS decks, they are my faves and with some TdM crossover sounds so fun!

I think if I order from her directly in France I am going to get stung by customs, so gonna have to research it a little. Not finding it anywhere else though so might just have to buy it. Shall research πŸ™‚

Β

It's the Le Tarot de Marseille-Waite by Emmanuelle Iger

Β

It crosses RWS and TdM -Β https://les-mots-clefs.com/tarot-de-marseille-waite-english/

Β

My question is which style do you read it in and is it as great to read with as how cute the images are?

I was wishing for something like this i adore this definitely on my wishlist now πŸ˜…

Isn't that the problem with this thread? Now i also want it. *sigh*.

I also like Dame Fortune's Wheel and Rose Tarot b/c both these decks also blend RWS with TdM style ... but not quite in the same way as this deck.

I just discovered the Mini Tarot de Marseille of the New Incarnation, by Eugene VinitskiΒ https://www.tarotmania.ch/store/products/mini-tarot-de-marseille-of-the-new-incarnation-unique-tdm-deck-with-fully

I'm already consideringΒ Le Tarot de Marseille-Waite by Emmanuelle Iger, discussed hereΒ https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/topic/13685-what-do-you-think-of-this-deck-should-i-buy-it/?do=findComment&comment=242490

Compare and contrast, anyone? What do you think of these decks? Which one should I buy, and please for the love of god don't say both...

I personally prefer the Iger deck. That one tempts me. The Vinitski deck ... not so much. The only reason I didn't buy Iger deck ... is that I really like the non-scenic pip decks. I use scenic pips with clients but I'm enjoying non-scenic pips for myself.

Β

The Vinitski deck is a really cool deck in my opinion. I think he has an original major arcana and he illustrated the minor arcana himself in the style of an old Marseille deck. Beautiful! Very well done. And as there is no historical background how to read the Marseille minors correctly, he used (I think, am not sure!) numerology and created storys for the minor arcana cards. It seems to be a little bit its own system.Β

Β

In the Iger deck an old medieval style was used for the illustrations. The major arcana cards are painted like the Marseille trumps. With one exception: Waite changed card 8 and 11 and Iger used not the Marseille template for this but Waite's. The minors are illustrated in the same style as the trumps while using the Waite pattern. So this deck you can read in the RWS style without any problem.Β

Β

If you can and like, get both, I would say. πŸ˜„ The decks are not really comparable as they are using different systems. Both decks have their own charme.Β

Β

If you'd asking me.... Iger.Β

Have both, like both; if I HAD to have only one I'd run with the Iger. That said - I LOVE Vinitski's stiff - it is always very well thought outΒ  - and good to look at too.

Both are cute decks. Obviously the one that attracts you more! (I am being very helpful, don't I?)

Β

I am waiting for the Iger tarot for some time; Luckily I've seen the VinitskyΒ  just now. But if I had to choose I'd still choose the Iger. For me the minors reads better as their design are closer to the traditional cards.

I am really drawn to the IgerΒ deck. I love the colors and the images. It does appear easier to read with. As @ThereseΒ shared, the images of the Vinitsky minors appear to have a different system to reading - not necessarily a bad thing, just something for consideration.

Shimmering Veil Tarot -should I buy it? LOL

Β

Wondering how it reads. I could buy the first or the second edition (with foil). Same price, which one is nicer? The site does not mention the size for either. I'd prefer the bigger size.

NO. I had never heard of it till you posted (that I remember - so if I had, that shows how memorable it wasn't.) I can't see reading with it - and also I don't like the art.

You asked.... Others may disagree.

Somehow I missed this one. I bought very few decks last year and I don't think I supported a single Kickstarter deck, but I thought I had my eyes open. I would definitely been interested had I seen it.Β

Β

I'm confused that it still says Buy Now on the fully funded and long completed campaign page. Is this typical? But it's available at the author's Etsy shop as well.

Β

Any one have it or know of it?

I have to agree, I really like the art on both decks and, though expensive, I'll probably end up getting both (apologies to Grandma).

A lot of KS creators do that - add a link to their own site after the campaign is over, so they can sell their surplus stock. (don't have it.)Β

No apology necessary Therese. You are very considerate to offer one though!

OK..... Not really sure what to think of this one.

Spotted it on Amazon while looking for different poker decks. Somehow a few Tarot decks got mixed in there as well.

But anyway, this deck popped up and I'm not sure where it's going. The imagery is beautiful but it seems like it is taking parts from at least 4 or 5 different cultures around the world to make one deck. From the images I've looked at online,Β  I can see African, Egyptian, Native American, possibly some Chinese and MAYBE some Norse stuff going on in there? I'm not even sure what all. Can't decide if it's cluttered or all inclusive.

Β

Amazon lists it as "The Midsummer's Son" Tarot.

Β

Other places call it "The Children of Litha" Tarot.

Β

But the two names seem intertwined across the internet.

Β

It's not an expensive deck but I don't know if I want it bad enough to buy it. It does have me very curious though.

Β

Edit: staff removed links to site who seem to sell pirated decks.

That Marcothepolo site looks rather considerably suspect. Much like Ali express....
