Can't wait to see it! 😀

🙂 I'm happy with this one, but I always make the same pattern for my pouches so it's easier after a few! I don't repeat the same mistakes (generally!)

Thanks @Raggydoll
Otherwise, yes, you are right for the instructions, this needs further contemplations though... 🤣

These have turned out really well, the material was perfect. And your stitching is so neat too!

Everyone’s bags are so beautiful!!

I’m a bum seamstress, but I know my way around yarn. Here are some of the bags I have made over the years.

These are lovely - I knit and crochet too - I was looking on Ravelry for patterns though I should just be able to make one up as I go along, is this what you do @vulprix?

@WildPlace I think you should definitely be able to dream up your own pattern, particularly with crochet with is so quick and malleable! (I do dream up knitted bags too, but I find crochet a little freer.)

I used one pattern, which I favor, for two of these bags—the Diamante Knit Tarot Wrap pattern by Svetlana K on Ravelry. (These bags are the middle one and the bottom right.) All the other three, I improvised.

I made these not long ago for my cards. I still have two mini decks that I want to make bags for.IMG_5848.thumb.jpeg.887921d18b416d91516741effed0675e.jpeg

Thanks for the info, much appreciated 🙂 I'm heading away for a few days later in the week and have the perfect yarn to take to do a little crocheting while i'm travelling on the 3.5 hour ferry journey...

I have never figured out attaching clasps and zippers to crocheted bags!  Nice work!  I'm not worthy~

No problem, @WildPlace! 😊

@vulprix The zipper I just sew by hand and the clasp was actually easy because the one that I bought had these tiny holes as you can see in the picture below. I am sure you could do it too. 😊

These are so pretty, i've always shied away from the clasps but now you've inspired me to maybe give it a go...

There are lots of good tutorials online too, particularly adding zips to crochet!

Thats’s great! 💪🏻 I’m waiting to see the result. 😊

And yeah, there are many good tutorials for the zips – you just pick your favourite.

What you have all done rocks!  I have neither the natural skill set (yes, I know the oh you can do it!), but one, don't wanna and two, usually what I design in my head, someone else can more easily and skillfully do.

I love beautifully done cases with a ribbon wrapped around it.   Like this that someone made for me years ago.  I loved being able to just describe what I wanted, have someone else make it and pay for it.  For those of you who make your own, kudos.  I just want to design mine and have someone else with great sewing skills do it! 😊

Your vision for tarot bags yields GORGEOUS results! 😄 Many props to the crafter!

Thanks, Vulprix.  Yes, she is indeed talented, but no longer taking orders.

HEY, TT and M peeps!  Do any of you do custom cases?  Just thinking might be a nice side gig if ANY of you, well, I would need someone in the US, took some custom orders!  And you've got a captive audience right here!   Also word gets around.  I LOVE well-sewn custom cases, sized to my deck.  I may not have a ton of decks, see my profile, but they WILL be dressed well! 🤩

Posted

Hey @GreatDaneis this a case like in done with cardboard or a soft pouch? I just started doing pouches but I am not in the US. @LoveLightPeaceis in the US and does beautiful stuff!

Posted

Well, thank you, Joy!  Nope, soft pouch, but with some structure to hold the deck in place.  Basically a fitted soft case with a flap and tied with ribbon.  Just my FAV way to store my decks.  I know we all have our preferences, the example I showed a post or two ago is DEFINITELY mine.  I started bugging someone who sewed MANY years ago in Aeclectic Tarot and she started Dark Nature Cases after that.  She just got TOO many orders and it was supposed to be a side gig.

Posted

YAY!  LoveLightPeace, you rule!  She has agreed to do a custom case for me.  I see the beginning of a great case friendship😀

AGAIN, I have looked at your images, and you all do SUCH gorgeous work.  BUT we don't all have the skills as others.  And I MUCH prefer to say this is exactly what I want, I'm GREAT at the visualizing ahahahah, and then have someone else make it.  It's like a dream becoming physical.  I have something somewhere with pix of my other cases if any wish to see them, just know I DIDN'T MAKE them!

Posted

Pic are always good @GreatDane I always love a bit of inspiration 😁 that reminds me, I really need to get my sewing machine fixed!

Posted

If anyone would like a SNEAK PEEK at the fabric and color of the case LoveLightPeace is making for my borderless Smith-Waite, happy to oblige! 🙂
