Awww, thanks 😊 1 minute ago, TheFeeLion said: You could always make a wrap instead, much less faffing around. All you need are two squares of fabric and something to use as a tie to sew in one corner 😊 like this... I made one of these for my Mother Mary Oracle, I love it. Mostly it requires the effort of me tidying up so I can sit at my sewing desk... I'm kinda waiting until fabric arrives and have to start on some sewing commissions. That'll force me to get the machine out and I'll do several other projects at the same time. Machine sewing always happens like that...
TheFeeLion Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 @stephanelli I'm still trying to find parts for my old bernina (ever since it broke doing that Creative Tarot Circle project) 🙄 so that wrap was all hand sewn and actually didn't take as long as I thought it would! I've got some fabric ideas now for my other decks though 😁 I was thinking for my Housewives this with yellow gingham on the inside Maybe this on the outside for Thoth This for Dragon Age Inquisition One of these for Tarot of the Divine
GreatDane Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 LOVE all the images of fabric and finished products all of you are posting! PLEASE keep it up. For me, LOVE the finished product when something I have thought about takes shape, I just really don't want to be the one to do it and I REALLY don't have skill set all of you do. I wasn't brought up sewing. I think my aunt taught to sew things like fixing a tear, sewing a button, when I was young, but I just don't have the desire (which may partly be it doesn't come easy to me, never has) to do myself. AND WITH TALENTED PEEPS around, thankfully I don't have to! So please keep the images coming, so fun to look at.
LadyNettle Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Hey everyone! I think I'm going to make a little bag for my newest deck and book as the box is quite chunky, and as this is my new baby I'm really trying to bond with it. What are the reasons for lining the bag? Does this protect the cards? I'm thinking of making my bag out of an old bedsheet but I'm concerned I may need something sturdier now? 🙂

(Actually, this applies to almost everything I sew uness I'm on the overlocker... MUST HIDE THE SEAMS!)

Messy but it works for now 😄

Raggydoll Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 I think lining also helps protect the deck, if you use a soft fabric. I have repurposed bedsheets for linings (you know, the ones that just sit in the linen closet and never gets picked - or is that just in our home? 😄) It worked great and I got enough for many projects just from one sheet.
TheFeeLion Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 My fabric has arrived! 😁 Now I've just got to figure out which goes with what 🤔

TheFeeLion Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 @joy yeah I like that one too 😊 the print was a LOT bigger than I thought it was going to be though! I obviously didn't look at the pic (with ruler) properly 🙄 lol oh well

Saturn Celeste Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 @TheFeeLion oh wow, the fabrics are so much fun! I LOVE the big pink flower (peony?) and the pink robin on the clothesline but they are all awesome!

Heh I love the name for that clothesline one, it's called "Don't Let the Birds do the Dishes" 😂 I'm going to use that and the gingham for my Housewives deck 😁 I was thinking of using that blue floral one with maybe the pastely one for my Shadowscapes but I haven't sat them all down together yet (my husband has his rc car stuff on the bar where I do my crafty stuff 🙄) and I'm contemplating using the red/grey and the grey/black ones for my Dragon Age Inquisition but I haven't decided for sure. Tarot of the Divine will with get the blue birdcages one or the koi, possibly both...

I do love the koi one also. 😊

TheFeeLion Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 The wrap for my Dragon Age is now officially completed 😁

TheFeeLion Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Thanks @ballerina 😁 @vulprix thanks 😁 yeah it's a really interesting deck to work with. I kinda wish I was familiar with the game so I could understand it better but I'm enjoying using it more intuitively 😊

TheFeeLion Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Thanks @joy I just use whatever nice cotton fabrics I can find. I actually got both of those from a lady that has a whole lot of vintage fabric for sale 😊

The only related craft I've dabbled in when it comes to needles is crochet so seeing all these gorgeous sewn bags and the cloth patterns make me go wow! I love seeing the way people pair colors/patterns with decks. By the way TheFeeLion, what deck is that with the two birds on the back? The art is beautiful!
