stephanelli Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Hello! It feels a long time since I've frequented this group, but I have actually been doing a Deck a Week for the whole of this year, just never remembering to post about it 🤦♀️ Anyway, this week, I'm planning on working with the Land Sky Oracle. Its so beautiful and I don't use it nearly often enough!
fire cat pickles Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 Welcome to the group @stephanelli! We are glad to have you 🙂 The DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.
Bodhiseed Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 This week I'll be using the Osho Zen Tarot, created by Ma Deva Padma and published by St. Martin's Press. I'll also be using the A'HA Oracle, created and self-published by Linnie Lambrechtsen. The card draws for today are the Rebel (Emperor) and Eternity: No matter where you go or what you do, you live your entire life within the confines of your head. ―Terry Josephson Rather than an Emperor who sets down the laws and enforces them, Padma's card illustrates self-sovereignty. We often like to point to things outside of ourselves that constrict and confine us, forgetting about what lies between our ears. All of us have an inner committee, shaped and conditioned by our previous experiences, that run our lives based on concretized concepts and values. That committee is frequently influenced by our present moods and emotions as well. The Rebel questions his mind's decrees, refusing what doesn't reflect reality or could harm his or another's well-being. The Eternity card asks us to ponder what will be left when we step off the space/time track. Our actions are our only true belongings, which may well affect people and places long after we are gone. To leave behind a healthy inheritance, it must be shaped by wisdom and compassion, not by our mental habits.
Rachelcat Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Hi, everyone! Thanks @fire cat pickles for approving my random change-up! Here goes! Years ago, I got a little deck of 13 cards called Love Spells and Rituals. The cards feature the “love” item in many systems/subjects, such as signs, planets, angels, flowers, etc. My organization brain went into overdrive, and I decided to use the subjects (not the love theme) as a way of categorizing decks, choosing one tarot and one oracle for each. (I tried to choose oracle systems where I could instead of just oracles of the same theme.) And I’ve updated it over the years to include better or newer decks. Attached is the result. I called it “a deck to choose the deck,” but I never, or very little, used it for that. So this month I’m going to! 13 tarots and 13 oracles, so 26 decks of the day in a row! (I’ll figure out what to do with the extra 2 days later.) I’ll draw a card for a category for tarot one day and oracle the next. Then another card. Let’s see what happens! Today is Chalice, Wholeness, Spiritual Element. That mean’s today’s tarot is Tarot of the Saints by Robert Place. And we’ll do a new moon reading, Honey Moon, full moon in Capricorn, by Spirit de la Lune. What have I committed to? St. Mary, the Moon Mary as the woman with her feet on the moon. I have committed to receiving intuitions and subjective blessings. From a feminine divine standpoint. How am I receiving support? Ace of Cups Unconditional love of my dear friends and family, with some element of sacrifice, but mostly just love. How am I offering support to others? Nine of Staffs I on the other hand offer support when my friends have their backs against the wall and just need help. Then I step up and help. Opportunities available to me: St. Catherine, Wheel of Fortune Catherine was broken on the wheel, so this is kind of gruesome, but medieval saints were often shown with their implements of torture and death. Pretty much any opportunity is open to me! I just need to pick something at the right time in the right way. How can I embrace these opportunities? St. Francis, the Fool St. Francis preached to the birds, and animals, and even the sun and moon! He was a hippie before it was cool. I can embrace my opportunities with an open, innocent heart, and a nod toward the natural world. Outcome, the honey that will be created: Eight of Staffs I’m too lazy to break out the book, but this is a scene of monks asking a hermit to be their leader, but he refuses because he wants to remain a hermit and not have to be an administrator. He knows right away that he doesn’t want to follow their plan, no matter how well laid it was. The honey is that I can choose and plan just about anything that will work for me as something I want to do. I have a lot of opportunities to choose from. I just need to choose wisely. Mi-Shell Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Hi guys! I am still not quite clear, what day the new week starts, but currently it will not matter much, as I am still with the Alchemical Garden Tarot and will be for some time to come. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite decks! There is the Tarot aspect - then reading deep into the image - and most fascinating - the actual Plant aspect --its medicinal properties --its cultural significance --the associated Plant Spirits And last but not least my personal experiences with quite a few of the plants and / or experiences of my shamanic teachers, students and even patients have had with certain plants. Meanwhile I have a whole ledger full of information on each Plant 🙂🌿 🌹🌻🌵
fire cat pickles Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Welcome back @Mi-Shell! We start on Mondays now.
