MarchHare Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 There are so many amazing examples of sacred spaces in this thread! I love how individualized they all are, it makes me smile. I have the urge to make a more permanent space myself, but I'm still figuring out what does/doesn't work for me, so thanks everyone for all the inspiration!
Misterei Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 @Nemia and @MarchHare thanks for reviving this topic. I love to see pictures of different spaces. Below is my home tarot zone. After 7 years living in a tiny house it's feels wonderful to say I have a tarot collection and a place to put it. I always had an office for seeing clients ... maybe I'll post pix of that later ... but this space for my personal practice feels special. And to share with friends as ppl see all the decks if they come to visit.
Nemia Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Ooooh, that looks so cosy, so intimate and beautiful. Really magical. Not only a workspace but one to meet yourself and rest and re-connect.
Misterei Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Thanks for reply. It is cozy. Especially when kitty comes to sit with me. When I lived in the small house I had only a couple of decks ... most were at my office. The house was too small to have anything beyond essentials. Now I cocoon on the settee surrounded by my decks. The collection has grown since moving! Maybe it's shallow and materialistic ... but it makes me feel happy to look up and see all the decks. Now most decks are with me at home and only a few at the office for clients.
Aliki Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 @Misterei i LOVE it and the kitty cat 🥺😍 it looks so magical

I love how easily accessible everything seems to be, that must be really convenient for you. You know it's a chill space to be when the cat makes itself at home! 😍

Before they were outside all the time. Very wild. Now I have to push them to go out. They like to be in the house with us. Zoe seems to be interested in cards. She comes around when I'm reading. The other cat could care less about tarot.

It looks like such a lovely space to be around I can't blame them 🥰 how i love seeing kitty cats around tarot they look so cute especially when looking cat and animal decks 🥺 idk but i think many cats are drawn to tarot I've seen some readers even including them to mini readings to pick the cards it's just so adorable 😍

Zoe is not so helpful. She waits until I have cards spread out perfectly then jumps in the middle. I watch this cat youtuber Jackson Galaxy and he claims that cats are perceptive to subtle energies (spirits and whatnot). I think it depends on the cat ... but they definitely have much sharper senses than we humans on the physical plane. Is Zoe attracted to tarot because she feels a subtle energy? Or is she just curious to see why I'm paying attention and "petting" the little pieces of colored paper? We may never know the answer to this.😺

Raggydoll Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 It’s lovely to look at this thread and see everyone’s beautiful spaces! My own space has changed so much since I shared it here. I used to have an IKEA sideboard that held all my decks, notebooks and crystals. But I decided that I would rather get rid of that sideboard and downsize my collection in order to fulfill another dream of mine. So where the sideboard used to be, now sits a a desk that forms my tiny art studio! (I still have the old glass cabinet that I believe I featured earlier in this thread, but it now holds special objects, family heirlooms etc instead of decks). Currently, my divination related things live in three places in my home. I have a drawer downstairs that holds a handful of my most used decks, my rune sets plus my favorite tools and crystals. Upstairs in the guest room sits the majority of my deck collection. It fits snuggly inside one drawer. The last part of my collection consists of my oldest or most valuable decks. Plus the very few backups that I own. I store them in a lockable and fireproof box, but within easy reach so they still get used fairly often. I have found that I don’t mind storing my things in drawers. The drawer downstairs is sectioned and I have bowls of crystals, rolled up reading cloths etc. So it is still a pretty space and it makes me happy to look at. My new desk is great not only for my art practice but I use it for reading cards and for crafting runes etc. 🙂
AprilShowers Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 What an amazing collection that has evolved into an archive of your personal spaces. My flowers in the photo I used for my profile are from mine. When I'm ready to share "the bigger picture" so to speak, I look forward to adding to it ❤️ 😍
Silk Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I live in a tiny apartment. Recently moved here from a big 2 bedroom and my decks had to be boxed up and most are sitting in my bedroom closet unfortunately as I don't have anywhere to display them. But I do have a few decks out and basically I read wherever I am... in bed, at my desk, on the couch, out at a restaurant, etc. etc. I have a deck sitting beside me right now and I find I will frequently pick up my deck and start shuffling as I'm talking to people online...sometimes it results in a reading, sometimes not. I've slept with my decks, had them all over my space, packed them with me on vacation or in my purse just while out and about, I feel like I have an easy familiarity with some of them as a result... I even apologize to them when I accidentally set something on them or knock them off the furniture, etc. But ya, it would be really nice to have a special space to read in someday. 🙂 I read a lot on apps too, it has worked very well for me and that's usually what I do when I'm in bed at night and in the morning and even when I wake in the middle of the night...
Anesiadora Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Revamped my altar to Hekate, the deck in the picture is the new Zerner/Farber Tarot. I decided to use that deck with her exclusively.

Saturn Celeste Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 I am tickled to see how this thread has grown! Every photo is wonderful! I will be updating my space once my back stops hurting but in the meantime, please, keep sharing your space!
Tanga Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) It has been a year since I touched a Tarot deck 😮 Hey Ho. I've been having a "menopausal" year with various dramas. Anyhow... "I'm back" sort of thing... I have loved looking through this thread and getting inspiration from all the posts and wonderful Altars. Hekate, Athena, The Cat (as I call Bast), Fae, Green crocodiles (Sobek?), Buddhas, Corn Mothers, Giant sigils, White rams, Crystal grids... - WONDERFUL! Thank you all for sharing. (My husband would be jealous of that music room...). I visited a Tarot peep some weeks ago who is really into minimalism - and simply loved his Altar. When I got home, I looked at my Anatolian Stag with all the black crystal and thought - Time for a Change. So... this is the new look. Back to more Polish pottery 🙂 🙂 🙂 . The blue chicken made me laugh, so I added it. The slate pentagram (made by the druid husband of a client) is the "working space" for spellwork/prayer etc. I don't usually have it out unless there's a "working" - I just put it in here for viewers purposes. And currently an Oracle card is sported here from The Blooming Lovelies Oracle, by ZeppelinMoon. "Wax on, Wax off" - it says. And yes - that is a great white shark petrified tooth - shiny enough to skry in - although sadly, I cannot skry. The Egg cup with a Fox - represents Mabon, the Autumn Equinox round about now - I have an egg cup for each of the 8 Wiccan festivals. Like Nemia - I have a Tarot wall board - directly below this tiny windowsill Altar. She gave me the idea (thank you! @Nemia). It's where I pin up all current sections of self-reading that stand out for me, and bits of chants, spells, poems I like and wish to commit to memory. I don't have the space in our home to create a whole reading room with Tarot decks displayed. So mine are stored in 3 different corners of my bedroom in plastic tubs. They are all in pretty Tarot bags wrapped with a piece of silk. The most used decks are to hand on the bookshelf by my bed. To meditate, muse, or have indoor ritual, I sit in the centre of the floor of my room. I have a "prop" at each quarter of my room signifying cardinal direction/element, so the moment I sit down, I can already visualise/feel the magick circle that I'm sitting in. DanielJUK Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Thoughts your way @Tanga nice to see you around the place 🤗 I like your fairy lights around it ❤️
Misterei Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 This isn't my normal reading space ... but I think all of us just throw down on the bed sometimes. Zoe slept through the reading.
