Right now, a very interesting hashtag is making the rounds on TaroTube: #editorspickdecks. I have watched some of the videos with this hashtag, not all of them, and I think we can extend the idea to the written word and give the word to those of us who don't have a YouTube platform. You can, of course, pick and choose what kind of deck you recommend - you don't have to answer all 15 questions. But this might be an interesting starting point for people looking for deck recommendations. If enough people participate and give their answers, I'll turn it into a list with links, if that's okay. Why should YouTube have all the fun? The prompts …

I just discovered this stunning deck! https://dust2onyx.com/ It's unlike anything I've ever seen. I can't remember the last time I was this drawn to a deck. After some brief intensive soul searching and financial calculations I ordered it. It will ship tomorrow and be here in 1-3 days! Here is the Empress: Has anyone used this deck? What can you tell me about it? I'm so happy!

Saw this on Facebook last week......I keep looking back at it. I have been wanting a cat deck. Anyone got this one? Thoughts? Any better cats decks?

For those who have a copy of the majors-only Tarot du Crepuscule by Zapatrax, it sounds like they've been working on a Minor Arcana expansion for that, but needed a break. And so instead they'll be launching a cat deck in February or so: Paw of Light. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zapatraxtarot/tarot-du-crepuscule-a-divinatory-tarot-card-deck/posts/3610588 As much as I've been slavering for a full Tarot du Crepuscule, I love Zapatrax's art so much, and I've never met a cat deck I didn't have to buy.

I am new to Tarot cards and I have a brand new Tarot Del Toro deck. A couch potato all my life, love to watch movies, and have seen the Hellboy movies. Need to watch the other movies by Guillermo Del Toro to help understand the characters in the deck. This deck suits my personality and I love it. Want to do well with this deck and need help. It would be awesome if everyone who owns this deck could give their interpretation of each card. Develop a cheat sheet for the entire deck. Give their own 3-card readings example.

I have been bingeing on Lon Milo Duquette's videos on the Thoth deck (courtesy of our very own EmpyreanKnight X/ ), and reading his delicious memoir My Life with the Spirits. The man just oozes charisma and is a born raconteur. I confess he fascinates me. I do have a few books of his that I haven't gotten around to read, among them the companion book for the Tarot of Ceremonial Magick. And I'm starting to feel intrigued by this deck, which, alas, seems hopelessly OOP. (Except for a pirate, made in Ukraine edition that sells on eBay for about US $40. Oddly enough for a pirate edition, they openly admit it's not the original.) Does anyone here have it? (I'm betti…

I have no Witchy type decks, so this thread is really me getting all your opinions on Witch-Style decks you have and your thoughts. I particularly am interested in Witch decks that follow RWS pretty easily. Wiccan, Witch, Wise Woman great decks by any of those names X/ So enable me, TT and Me Peeps, please!

What decks, old or new, are tempting you right now? For me, it is the Animism Tarot on Etsy and the Badgers Forest Tarot by bluedogrose. I am sure I will think of more. :D

I was surfing on the Kickstarter website and found that rather impressive Demon-Possessed Tarot! >:D Link: It's highly focused on Goetia but hey, that looks good! Now I'm struggling with either I do pledge or not... Do any of you here pledged for the deck already? There is 20 days remaining (ends on September 25, 2018) and it's funded at 575%!

I was pretty stoked when I received my copy of the Fairies Oracle, but my heart sank when I took the cards out. I do not believe I have ever experienced such poor quality of cardstock. Like really thin cardboard and no lamination. It honestly looked a bit homemade (no, this was not a counterfeit deck, it’s the real deal and the current edition that’s available right now). I did go to amazon and read reviews and I saw that a lot of people had mentioned the really bad quality. One person also said that it used to have a better quality of cardstock when it was first released. So, do any of you guys know if there has been a change in cardstock? And how do you find your versio…

There is a deck I once glimpsed. Four of Cups is depicted as four women carrying cups. Three younger women are on one side of the bridge, an older woman (someone I imagined was a mentor) beckons from the other side. Does anyone recognize the deck?

I saw the counterfeit decks thread and @DanielJUK was kind enough to enlighten me on a few of the shady places that are known to sell counterfeit decks so I wanted to start a thread where we can all share legitimate sites to purchase legitimate tarot decks (also DanielJUK’s idea). I’ll start: The U.S. Games website http://usgamesinc.com Llewellyn http://llewellyn.com Tarot Arts (also sells self-published decks) https://tarotarts.com/

Just had an email today saying the Star Tarot will be definitely released in August. :)

This isn't about necessarily dark or spooky decks (although feel free to add those), but decks with cards that just creep you out. I know I will be adding to this list quickly, but first one that really sprang to mind GOLDEN TAROT OF THE RENAISSANCE. FOUND another one! BARBARA WALKER TAROT...where do I begin? I see why people like it, but I just feel like the whole deck has such a weird vibe, even some of the more benign cards. It's like the Twilight Zone, some things seeeeem normal....but aren't. And the things that seem off, are realllly off. Don't even remember exactly which card, but the one with the creepy guy in jockey shorts with kids dancing around…

Hi everyone! I don't see a lot of this deck talked about, and I know it's pretty obscure for most of you. But my favourite deck, which was my first deck, was the Fergus Hall deck from the movie Live and Let Die. I would like to introduce it to all of you as the artwork is something special and may appeal. So, I will start with the first card, The Fool The Fool in this painting is wearing a traditional court jesters outfit in red, yellow and blue, all primary colours. The waning (or is it waxing) moon appears near his foot and the sun appears near his head. The spotted cat pulls on his pants. He wears a blindfold but it is partially lifted so he can see…

As the title says, I found a beautiful deck but can't find out what deck it is https://www.keen.com/articles/tarot/seven-of-wands-reversed-tarot-card Who knows what deck this is?

Greetings. I am pretty captivated by this deck's images, based on what I can find online. Do any of you own it? Living in North America, it is quite expensive on Amazon. Both via the European site as well as American. I'm wondering if you enjoy it and if the pack has any strengths / weaknesses you can share.

The discussion of Tarot decks would be incomplete if we ignore the part of it which shares almost half of its total surface area: its back! So share all the Tarot backs that move you: the ones you love and the ones you find distasteful. Post those which are out of this world, which even the people here know very little of, or which you simply are very curious about. If you can, try to post pics, alright? :)

It looks like the creator of the Prisma Visions tarot has brought back the original Light Visions for a second edition! https://prismavisionstarot.com/products/the-light-visions-tarot-deck-second-edition Pre-orders go live this weekend. I have and love the Prisma Visions, and I'm pretty sure I prefer the Prisma's colours to the Light's black-and-white (black-and-gold?) so I probably won't be buying this one myself. But the gilded edges are beautiful, and I'm sure it would make the perfect Yuletide gift! Whether for someone else or yourself...

If, like me, you were upset that you missed the Kickstarter campaign for this deck, and are a bit envious of all those glowing reviews that are inundating the interwebs, you'll be ecstatic to learn that the Marigold Tarot is now available to purchase through Amrit Brar's website, as are the Reading Cloths, LE patches and enamel pins. Mine is now on the way, and I can hardly wait!

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I have been having a look through some of the previous threads but can't find something specific to this. I was just wondering how you choose tarot decks when buying them... I have found that sometimes when I use tarot decks that are pretty and simple, it can make reading harder- not sure why. But then I'm not sure if I want a deck that is overly complicated either... which I think Raider-Waite is sometimes. So are there any rules/considerations you have when choosing your decks or is it largely trial and error?
