It seems like the Sola Busca revival is still going strong. There is some good news for everyone who missed out on the very first offering of Lo Scarabeo's Anima Antiqua series. Their deluxe Sola Busca is going to be released again this January 2019, and this time it's going to be in a museum-quality kit! I like how responsive LS has become to popular clamor - the initial release has sold out in around six months after all. And now, not only is it going to be reprinted - it's going to come out with an extensive guidebook by renowned Sola Busca scholar Paola Gnaccolini. This is a huge deal, as the available texts on the Sola Busca by Di Vincenzo, Adams, Dorsini, et…

The Mucha tarot, the Art Nouveau tarot, Ethereal Visions... Some fairly well-known decks! But I'm curious, does anyone know of other art nouveau/art deco tarot decks? I know a bunch of oracle, or similar, but for tarot those are the three I can find. And if you're a fan of the style like me and want to know the oracles, just let me know! I just don't want to break any rules by bringing them up unprompted in the tarot section.

I am trying to think of some additional decks with dark backgrounds, to come up with possible pairings I might want to add to/use in my collection. By dark backgrounds, I mean decks where the primary color of the background is a dark color. I have a few in my collection already which I'll list below. If anyone can think of any others I'd be grateful! Tarot Prisma Visions: The background of this deck is dark blue, contrasting deeply with the bright colors of the art and the silver edging Tarot Swietlistej Drogi: The cards are white and gold on a black background, giving an almost glowing effect to the art …

I have some decks to sell here in Glastonbury for a friend - and this one has me stumped. I know it's not THE Stick-figure tarot - and it's got a hand-made vibe to it, but has anyone got a name for it please? Gregory - Death card on the left of shot Thanks PathWalker

Can you guys suggest some nice decks that incorporate modern technology in their imagery? I have the Tarot of the Silicon Dawn and that's one of my favorite aspects of it. Also I remember seeing an adorable robot-themed tarot somewhere on the internet but, of course, I can't find it anymore! Thanks for your help!

Have you guys seen The Heroine Tarot on Kickstarter? It looks gorgeous! Those card backs are amazing too! 😍😍😍 The art style kind of reminds me of the Paradise Kiss manga.

Does anyone have this deck? It was the second deck I purchased because I love Taoism and the art really spoke to me. I have had some good readings with it for sure, but I have trouble knowing how to really use it. It's like... it has major and minor arcana, and to a point the cards do relate to the tarot, but at the same time? They really kinda don't lol If you want to read reversals it's gotta be all intuition. Do you think this deck is best used as an Oracle deck? Have any of you used it as a Tarot deck? It's still cool as hell and I intend to work with it, just wondering if anyone else uses it.

This is a fun, cute Halloween-y deck (majors only) currently on Kickstarter 💀

Last week I was feeling very nostalgic so I reviewed the 2 decks that I learned Tarot with (Robin Wood and Tarot of the Old Path) back in the early 90’s. To see that they are still in print made me smile 😊 I was amazed at how quickly some decks go OOP in comparison, good decks. Are there any old decks that make you feel nostalgic?

Chris-Anne, the artist behind the Sacred Creators Oracle, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for not one, but two decks. I found out about it through Instagram about a week ago and was pleasantly surprised when I found out she launched the campaign. I'm not at all interested in the original oracle deck, but I fell in love with the two tarot decks. They are meant to be sister decks, and I already pledged for the deck bundle, but you can pledge for just one or the other. The descriptions for the two decks are quoted straight from the KS. "The Light Seer's Tarot brings us into a world of traditional and non-traditional archetypes, and invites us to explor…

I don't know if anyone has compiled a list like this. If they did here, please share a link. If there's no list already created, I'm starting one and if one already exists, I'll just let the mods delete mine. Here's the ones I know of and the ones with *s will be the ones I know are still in print. *Halloween *Radiant Rider Waite *Aquarian *Zillich *Vanessa *Gummy Bear *The Wonderland Tarot *A Tarot in a Tin *RWS Centennial *Morgan Greer *Barbara Walker *Sun and Moon *Universal Waite *White Sage Are there more either in or out of print? I actually thought the Van…

From Place's newsletter: I have been working on a new Tarot deck that is my interpretation of the traditional French Tarot of Marseilles. I am focusing on the figures on the cards and redrawing them in my style. From the beginning of my involvement with the Tarot I have been guided by my insight that the traditional Tarot trumps may be correlated with the stages of the Alchemical Magnum Opus, and this deck will also include alchemical symbols on each trump card that relate each one to a stage in the Great Work or Opus. But I have also stated from the beginning that the connection between the Tarot and alchemy was not intentional. The relationship ha…

I just saw that Lunaea Weatherstone is working on a new deck, with an artist named Meraylah Allwood. She posted on FB not too long ago, and has only revealed the Sun card, but I'm already so excited! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156403367198986&set=a.122340813985.125955.534358985&type=3&theater

I know the old saw about old dogs and new tricks, but I'm still going to start a study of the Barbara Walker Tarot. I've never paid any attention to this deck in all the 21 years I've been using the cards but when I decided to become a collector of decks in tins, then Fate had a change in mind for me. The Barbara Walker deck in a tin came to me in a trade and I started paying attention to the deck. I became deeply intrigued. Does anyone else have it and use it regularly? If so, would you care to share your experience and insights with me? I didn't see Barbara Walker listed anywhere as already part of a study, but if there is one, the mods are welcome to move …

Came across this today on Facebook. A lovely looking deck with Marseille-style pips. A good review here: https://www.tabi.org.uk/2018/07/hot-off-the-press-review-of-the-tattoo-tarot-ink-and-intuition/ One for the wish list!

He gave an initial sneak peek on YouTube and it will soon be available on gamecrafter. I think it’s brilliant! (And do read the information in the description bar about how he purposely chose to misspell certain titles etc. Clearly a lot of thought - and humor! - went into the creation of this deck!)

Spotted this on Kickstarter! It's interesting! I was puzzled about why the goal was so low (just $500) but apparently this is a reprint of a pre-existing deck — you can buy it currently here, though the price is about $2 more than the cost of the Kickstarter deck: http://store.wyngdlyon.com/horror-comic-book-tarot-deck/ It seems like a fun concept, and a good way to learn more about the golden age of horror comics, which is kind of a storied era among comics fans. The kickstarter images don't do the cards justice, but the ones on the store site are a little better: However, the creator told me on KS t…

i'm sort of wondering if there's a collector's advice thread floating around here anywhere, or if anyone else would be interested in starting one? (I joined the tarot collectors forum but it seems a bit advanced and updates rarely.) I sometimes feel like i'm completely clueless when it comes to discerning what decks are valuable and why. For instance, I just apparently lucked out and found a $65 copy of the III Millennium on ebay (a deck I've been kind of obsessed with since @Saturn Celeste suggested it as a good deck for me a while back). And the seller seems legit, but I know this deck is selling for upwards of $400 and $500 elsewhere, so I'm fee…
