So Lazo has finished and printed their long-time tarot project, the Rainbow Tarot. They're an El Salvadorian artist and sell on Etsy, though I believe atm all purchases ship from Germany. The deck is being released on Thursday June 16. Not sure on the time yet, but given how closely watched their IG post was, I'd recommend being ready to snag one as soon as you can. I'm addressing my query to anybody here who regularly reads with more than one tarot system. By that I mean the RWS, Thoth, Marseille, etc. What are the strengths of each particular system? How do you choose which one to read with, at any given time? I am only familiar with the RWS system, but always wondered about the others. I'm not sure I want to spend the remaining years of my life (I'm 76 now) learning a new system if it's only going to show me what the RWS system already does. However, if there is a lot to be gained by learning another system, then maybe I should! 🙂

I was browsing though Instagram, looking for new tarot decks, y'know, as you do, and I stumbled across one called the Shadow Light Tarot deck. It's a black and white tarot deck that very strongly reminds me of the Light Visons deck, though it is significantly more goth. Are there any decks that you forgot you even owned? Mine is Tarot of the Nymphs- I was going through my collection today, to complete my forum deck profile, and there it was! I don't think I've ever even read with it (it's a pretty deck, but it's pretty one note).

I recently saw posts having to do with demonic decks and vampire decks ... not surprising for the time of year ... and realized I have an aversion to darkly themed decks, especially demons, vampires, and over-use of skeleton imagery. But as some of you know ... I absolutely loathe "sweetness and light" decks. Possibly even worse than my aversion to dark decks! The aversions come from different places. I am a serial Kickstarter backer and just came across this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/as-so/the-metamyth-tarot I know highly variant decks aren't for everyone but I like them for writing/GMing, and I like what the creator's displayed of this one so far. We'll see if they make their goal and get it up for sale. The art style reminds me of the Ellis Deck and Mystic Mondays.

Publisher Liminal 11 has some decks in mass market sales (Modern Witch, Seed & Sickle, etc.), but they also have limited editions that are only available through their site. If you're thinking of ordering one of those, you may want to consider ordering well in advance of when you need it if you're outside the UK (Shipping within the UK is handled separately, and I have no experience with it). Their facebook and Instagram show comments from people asking for someone to please answer their emails or let them know when they'll receive their order. OMG I am so buying the Vampirella Tarot. It would be perfect for my vampire decks sub-collection. I know it looks quite sordid and immodest and brazen and the images don't seem to relate that well to their arcanum and it might very well be just a novelty deck but I don't care, I'm going to grab this deck like no one's business. I'm curious as to what the LWB is going to say, or if it's even going to have one. I also hope that it would have the Rose arcanum. I am trying so very hard but I'm not going to fanboy on this one. So a few months back artist Madeline Priebe posted some images of a Muppets tarot she'd been doing, just the majors, and they were stunning. They're so lovely, though, I couldn't say no. Too good of a match to So Lazo's Rainbow Tarot and so very well done.

Stop the presses! The Tarocchino Mitelli, released by Lo Scarabeo under their Anima Antiqua Line, is finally on sale! I was floored by the Tarocchi Sola Busca when I finally got my hands on it just this weekend, and I thought it was a mighty shame that the Mitelli is only going to be released early next year. I've been wanting to pull the trigger on these two decks for so long. I love the amount of symbolism in them and the mythology behind the Apokalypsis. But I wonder how people go with doing a whole reading with them? I can see how I could use them for clarifiers, but realistically speaking, how do you guys go with using them for a whole large spread like the Celtic Cross? For reference, I love Ciro Marchetti decks, so I'm not shy about colour and detail.

So I am curious if anyone has worked with this deck. If so... how do you like it? What do you use it for? How do you manage the two sets of Major Arcana and all of the extra cards? Hello! The High Priestess is a card I've always been lukewarm about. I don't have trouble interpreting it, but I can't seem to find a deck where I can relate to the image. I just don't get the feeling of strong intuition emanating from most of the decks, based on the RWS deck—robed figure sitting on a throne looking all mysterious, etc. In fact, mystery is the last thing I 'get' from the High Priestess card. It's not supposed to be about mystery ...it's supposed to be about inner knowing! Hello all! i received the 2017 edition of the Samhain Deck of the Bastard by Seven Stars a couple of weeks ago, and i love it! i also gave it a beautiful black edge treatment. i am wondering if any one else has purchased it? i have the large edition. It has so much spooky ambiance...
