If you're looking for a modern TdM deck, I just found (and backed) Tarot Morandi on Kickstarter. The creator is an animator and illustrator, and it shows in the deck's art. The campaign ends on August 4.

Coming this May 2018 from Schiffer, it's the Hip Chick Tarot by Maria Strom. From the publisher's site: The women shown in these 78 hand-painted and boldly colored Tarot cards will empower you to grow spiritually, be creative, feel freely, and think clearly—all from a female perspective. Call on these experienced women when you need guidance and support with everyday life, and allow them to help you tune into your own inner wisdom. This deck and companion guide encourages you to be daring and to make decisions that resonate with your soul, not the expectations of society and other people. Consisting of the Majors, Create (Wands), Feel (Cups), Think (Swords), a…

Last week I was feeling very nostalgic so I reviewed the 2 decks that I learned Tarot with (Robin Wood and Tarot of the Old Path) back in the early 90’s. To see that they are still in print made me smile 😊 I was amazed at how quickly some decks go OOP in comparison, good decks. Are there any old decks that make you feel nostalgic?

I didn't want to put this in the "should I buy it?" thread because I already did buy it, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has bought it and what they think of it. I don't like great big decks with thick cardboard-y cards but I just noticed in the description when I was looking at it online a little while ago that it says something about larger cards, so I'm hoping they're not too big or cardboard-y. It's on its way here and will be here tomorrow so I'll deal with it whatever it's like, of course, but I'd still like to see some comments on it.

I had the Medieval Cat Tarot, which I did really like. Couldn't stand the smell of the laminated stock tho. I also didn't use that much and traded. But I liked the images. The pips were a cross between RWS and TdM. Illustrated, but more subtly. I am thinking of getting ONE cat deck this year, but haven't decided which, so I shall be perusing this thread to see what all of you have

So, my Mom's birthday is coming up and this is the first since her husband (I refuse to call the man father) passed in December. Mom is what I would describe as a New Age-y Christian white witch. Mom used to be into the tarot before B, and she stopped because he insisted it was demonic or some bs. She has squeed over my Tarot and oracle collection, and I wish I could afford to get her the one I know she would love (The Last Unicorn deck but $100 is outside my budget lol). I remember when I was 15 and we went to Salem while visiting family, she went into all the witchy shops and cooed over the tarot decks and oracles. I asked why didn't she get one and she got this look an…

Hi everyone! I'm looking for my first and possibly only deck. I've been looking around and the "Star Spinner", "Tarot of the Divine", and "Linestrider" are the ones that most call to me at the moment. However before I make a decision on who's coming home with me (I really can't afford more than one), are there any others with a similar vibe to those? I'd like to know all my options before choosing.

Hello everyone Does anyone have a suggestion for a good bright-side deck? I have several dark decks, and a number of neutral decks, but I don't really have any bright decks (except for the Happy Tarot, which was just too darn cute to resist), so I think I need a little light to balance things out. Thank you. :)

Hi, anyone from AT? Wondering if anyone remembers this story. This was a stunningly gorgeous deck that had some serious drama and production broke down. Did it just disappear? I kept some pretty lo-res images because I loved it and wanted a copy. I remember people even had pre-orders. It's probably gone but I wonder if anyone knows how the story ended. I'll be around the forum more in the future I believe so be back!

We’re nearing the end of another decade and it got me thinking of the decks published during it. 2010-2019 was the decade where I did the bulk of my collection buying. It seems to have been a decade of real explosion in the amount of new decks on offer. With that in mind, are there any decks from this decade which you think are the new classics? Any which will date quickly? Some of the more innovative decks which spring to mind are Tarot of the Holy Light and Tarot of the Silicon Dawn - both changed the structure of what we think of as ‘tarot’ and brought interesting new elements. No-one really talks about them now though. …

So there is this little gift store in my godforsaken Bible Belt town that, surprisingly enough, has started selling Tarot decks! (Well, mostly Tarot decks; they also had the Fairy Lenormand Oracle and an oracle or two, including the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit.) It is attached to a café where I went to get breakfast today, after getting done some routine lab work for my next doctor's appointment. They sell a concoction called Frank's Crowbar with four shots of espresso in it that will make you grow hair in your chest, and pretty good scones. And I was surprised to find there, in a gigantic yellow box, Lo Scarabeo's Tarot Original 1909. . M…

Do you have any concept that you wished existed as a Tarot Deck? Something that has never been applied in a cartomantic framework before, or was already in production but never made it to publication. It can be a person, an ideology, TV show, book series, etc. On my part, I've heard that they planned to release an Anne Rice Tarot deck before, but it fell through. I've read that her Christian phase had something to do with it? I wonder how it would have been like if it pushed through. Also, I know that there are Angel, Saint, and even Buddha Tarot decks, but has there ever been a legit 78-deck Demons Tarot? I think there are only 72 Goetic demons (countered by the 72…

Which deck would you recommend as my second deck? I am currently now using a standard RSW, and it is great. It works with the little handwritten book of all my mum's tarot secrets. But I think perhaps I would learn from getting a second deck. Do you have any recommendations? I see that Wildwood is very popular, and it is very instagram friendly so it would look good on my etsy listings, but I just don't feel the imagery. I also think the Lumina Inner Hue deck very photogenic, and it is sooooo pretty, but I am very unsure about it. I looked at the Linestrider Tarot deck, and I LOVE their queen of cups. But I am very uncertain about the rest of the deck :P I hav…

Well, my Anieth Stone Tarot arrived. Unboxing? Well, no, there was no box, only a rather tethered and rumpled padded envelope 😞 I am rather dismayed at its general condition! The box, the cards were in is pretty smushed out of shape. The box also, when straightened out as far as that still works, does not really fit the deck, it is a wee bit too short and quite a bit too wide.....?? A.E. Stone stuffed a piece of cardboard into the gap, but that has now crumpled up and messed up several cards. 2 pamphlets, that came with it are crumpled. I have not looked at all the cards yet, will do that tomorrow. All in all I t…

Hi there! I've been reading Tarot for a few years and I often read in the Internet that beginners start with the WaiteSmith deck (WST) and move on to the Tarot de Marseille (TDM) in many cases. I often get the impression that it's common to think that the TDM is for advanced readers, while the WST is for beginners because of its "simple" pictures.

I am not sure if this is in the right place or not, but I am at my wits end with trying to remove the heavy scent on a beautiful deck of tarot cards that I was gifted years ago. Literally YEARS--we are talking 2017 or 18, I think! I LOVE the cards, but I cannot use them due to my allergies and asthma. So, I did buy charcoal in bags that was recommended to me by one other friendly tarot reader and I put the tarot cards in various plastic bags with all the charcoal bags that I had to purchase (so not 1 bag to 78 cards--more like 5 cards per bag with one charcoal bag--so I have a LOT of charcoal bags now...) I checked it every month for awhile and after 3 mos you couldn…
