I'm on the hunt for decks with a sense of humour, be it in the guidebook or in the cards themselves. Are there any decks that you thought would be serious but surprised you? Any that straight out the gate made you giggle?

An early Christmas present to myself. I've wanted the Dali Set since I started collecting. I could never afford it until now. Amazon had a deep discounts on it. It's a very large box, made it of wood with a felt covering. The book that covers covers it is very comprehensive. The cards come in a golden box. The cards are gorgeous, created by Salvador Dali and his wife, and they appear in some of the cards. Many based on famous works of art. I funny story. Daily read commissioned to create a Tarot Deck for the Bond movie Live and Let Die. The studio didn't like what he was doing so he was fired from the project. What we call, The Tarot of the Witch…

I found this deck here in the deck library and fell in love, so straight into my Amazon cart it went. However, I can't find any posts here about it, and very few reviews in general. The one by Benebell Wen waxes rhapsodic about the art but very delicately insinuates that it is not a deck to read with. I find interesting the way some of the cards play with the RWS imagery --for example, the Ten of Pentacles makes the old man the center of attention, while the happy family is far, faraway in the background, and the Four of Wands makes me think of the Tower right before lightning strikes, or after things are put back together, if you prefer. Other car…

At long last, Thiago Corrêa's cat tarot deck is being published! I've been following Thiago Corrêa for a long time, their art is so fun and interesting. Deck can be pre-ordered from various places, published by Abrams books. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cats-rule-the-earth-tarot-catherine-davidson/1140972886?ean=9781419766060 \o/

So, I was just reminded that I have a whole bunch of decks I need to make shuffleable copies of because the original can't really be handled. The Voyager Tarot is one such example. The cards are really difficult to shuffle and I fear I would damage them. I most often use them for spellwork or meditation, so it was not that much of an issue, but I would really like to read with them again. I was thinking of making them a lot smaller, so I would have to use the real versions to really look at the images (the Voyager is a very busy deck and I get why the cards had to be big). Has anyone done this? If so, does it distract from the reading t…

Apologies to the mods if I haven't posted this in the right section! Does anyone happen to have the book that Uusi produced to go alongside the Pagan Otherworlds deck? (I received the deck as a present, without the book.) A little while ago I did a reading with the PO and drew the Knight of Cups for a specific position, the message still hasn't quite solidified for me despite mulling it over for some time. At the time of the reading I was drawn to a particular aspect of the card, the fact that the Knight has bells strapped to his back. Today I took my daughter to a children's museum that has an area displaying items from cultures aroun…

I grew up at the Universal Horror movies and thought that I could really relate to this deck. When I got the deck, however, although it's supposed to be related to Rider, White, Smith system, I'm having trouble relating their different names suits to what I've been used to. I'm having trouble seeing correlations. I haven't actually tried to do a reading with these because they seem so alien to me. Is anyone using the stack and enjoying it? This may be a deck that I will just have for my collection and not use it all but just admire the artwork.

I've been away from Tarot for a few years and unfortunately most of my decks got lost as I've moved house twice since then. So, are there any amazing decks that have come out in around the last couple of years that I should know about? I mostly like Rws variants - Anna k, Morgan Greer, Robin wood but sometimes I like something a little bit different. I used to use the Wildwood quite a bit too.

I just saw Lisa Hunt is doing art for a new deck that is a collaboration with Lynn Araujo. Some additional card images can be seen on Lisa's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisahuntart/ The deck has the theme of "offering gentle lessons from the idyllic countryside." As a novice student of the Kabbalah, the first deck I read from was the Witches Tarot. The deck was intended to be a study aid but I read from it for clients for decades. What I loved about the deck is that the artist included imagery that related to the spiritual pathway of the Kabbalah. There is the Kabbalah spread where the cards are laid out in the map of the Kabbalah. In English these doorways are known as Desire, Clarity, Will, Vision, Heart, Courage, Joy, Knowledge, Wisdom, and Spirit. Anything can be put on the Kabbalah. For my example the pathway of frying an egg. It starts with Desire. 'I'm hungry.' Moves to Clarity 'What am I hungry for?' It takes an…

An imaginary journey that looks back over my involvement with Tarot, featuring many of the key characters and scenes. Some of whom may be familiar. At just over 5 mins, its longer than the usual attention span of social media, but maybe when you have a quiet moment with your cup of Tarot Tea you will join Me on this nostalgic travel back over time to glimpse what has been for me the most fascinating creative experience. (admin and moderators ...I hope I 've posted this in an appropriate sub forum???) A TAROT JOURNEY .mp4

Tchalaï Unger's Tarot Tzigane, long out of print and sought after, has just been reprinted. I've written a short presentation of the news, and previously translated a chapter from the accompanying book.

I personally think making/using/supporting AI art, at least as it exists right now, is unethical, but I don't want to potentially start drama by debating that. This is not that discussion! Instead, I'm curious what opinion people here have on whether AI art is useful for divination. I'm probably not the only person who's seen AI art tarot decks popping up on Kickstarter, but that's what got me wondering. Can art created by an algorithm have the same - metaphysical? I'm not sure what the right term is here - value as art created by a human artist? Can AI art be used for divination, or is it lacking something that human-created art has that is nece…

I thought it would be nice to have a thread about sharing info re. availability of decks of interest. So I am beginning: I am looking for Terracotta tarot for so long. If you have any info where I could find it I would really appreciate it or if you see it somewhere for sale pls post it here. And just FYI if anyone would be interested:: I was also looking for the Tiger tarot and I found it after lots of search on the net. It can be ordered by emailing to kathy@imlaygallery.com (I have her permission to share her email address) I think it will go on the top of my favorites. It's unique, the faces are so expressive and the cards …

It wasn't really gothic or a horror deck or anything, just like looking at a deck through a London fog. Basically different shades of gray. Ring a bell for anyone?

I tried to find a thread about this deck but didn't find one! I've wanted this deck for ages and now that my local post office has returned to normal, I'm thinking of getting it. I'm just not really sure which edition to get. I was going to get the regular-size in the new (borderless) version but I'm not a huge fan of the purple graphic at the bottom, it looks kind of intrusive and like maybe it clips the bottom of the image? The only bordered version I can find is in mini format, so I've got some questions about that: how good are the images? Are details visible? Does the size affect them much (if you can compare between the regular deck and the mini version)…

Sometimes we talk about decks where a card or several ruin a deck for us. But what about decks we've seen where we REALLY like a few of the cards, but feel letdown by the rest? Are there any decks you can think of where you really just liked one or a couple cards, maybe even ordered the deck based on a few cards, but then wished the rest of the deck followed suit (no pun intended)?

I know there are deck lists by season, however, I have recently started using one deck through each astrological transit and need suggestions and ideas of which decks seem to have a specific sign’s energy. For example, in Virgo season I used the Wayfarer Tarot. It really helped me have an even stronger connection to the astrological energy of daily life. What decks would you use or recommend for these transits? Please share any that you feel relate or resonate with a specific transit and why, is it the images, the actual energy of the deck for you, the colors, etc. Thank you! Aries - I act/I am - self-awareness Taurus - I manifest/have - person…
