Tarot Spreads

This is a spread I came up a few years ago for the month of February - the 1st Feb (in Ireland) is St Brigid's Day and I believe it is the 2nd in Scotland. (Imbolc?) St Brigid is a combination of the goddess Brigid and an abbess of the same name in early Christian Ireland. Most Brigidine schools have as their motto Fortiter et Suaviter (Strength and Gentleness) and so this spread is based on that motto. But the qualities could equally apply to the triple goddess, Brigid. Strength in her Smith form; Gentleness in her Healer form; and a combination of the two in her Poet form. :) 1. I'm curious what everyone's go to spread is: whether you read Oracle, Kipper, Tarot, etc. Do you prefer long spread or short to the point spreads? Or do you use a spread or do you keep pulling cards until you get a feeling to stop? Comment and let us know! 🙂

Any suggestions on what is the best spread for questions about life path, life purpose and career?

In the past my experience of tarot both receiving and reading was limited to simple e.g. three cards spreads. I found it too be only mildly interesting and hard to really get a full picture of a situation. It was the experience of receiving a celtic cross reading recently that really changed things around for me. My brain loves to piece together disparate aspects of a situation and get a broad and multilayered understanding. I'm curious how others feel about the celtic cross and if there are any other spreads you would recommend for a more "abstract" thinker like me?

I've been asked to do a tarot reading for future and I don't know which spread to use. The past present and future 3 card seems too small. I find it easier if I have a specific question, but general future is harder. So which spread is best?

I learned tarot from an older family member, and she would only teach me the one spread; the extended celtic cross. This, apparently, is the best one and so forth. But sometimes, a simpler spread would be okay, perhaps? So what spreads do you use? I'd very much like to learn some new ones! And when you do different spreads, do you tell the deck when shuffling which spread you are using?

Lo Scarabeo put up this spread for "interviewing" a new deck of cards. I have several new ones and I want to try it. Had anyone done this said before? If so what were your impressions? I'll probably do this over the weekend when I have more time.

This is a spread for spiritual exploration and empowerment. I designed it with the intention of combining two decks (those who know me know that I LOVE combining multiple decks and/or systems). I just chose one deck for the "Above" positions, and one for the "Below" positions. I feel that this offers a chance to really pinpoint what energies you want to explore (or tap into) in each specific reading, so I chose my decks intuitively. My friends, I've been having a wonderful time working through the lessons of learntarot.com, taking notes on each and working through the exercises. Today I reached Lesson 10, The Open Reading. The exercise at the end of this lesson prompts me to look for an opportunity in the coming weeks for an open/general reading to get myself familiar with this style of reading, preferably on a "special" occasion of new beginnings. Hi all, I'm currently immersing myself in the Thomson Leng, and I want to share the spreads ITT. It's my hope that some of you try them out here - use any deck you like. Does anybody here actually perform daily draws? Do you just use one card or many? If it's just one, how do you interpret it? If it's more than, what kind of spread do you use?
