Tarot Spreads

I did a presentation to the Capital Tarot Society yesterday, Exploring Old Spreads, based on the book, Untold Tarot: The Lost Art of Reading Ancient Tarot by Caitlin Matthews. The presentation is attached. There is more good info in the book, so get it if you’re interested! I also geeked out on the historical decks she used to illustrate the book. After playing around with them for a little bit, I think my favorite spread is the Pages Have News for You, and maybe the Fountain, but I haven’t really tried that out yet. Hello, In this thread, I will be posting some of the spreads I have created (making a separate thread for each spread seemed like spamming). They're inspired by situations I was dealing with and by the numerous spreads I came across all over the internet, in books as well as in AT forum! This is a lovely video from seven years ago, where Rachel showed her technique for making spreads. She used the querents own words and created spread positions based on that. She also showed an example reading based on a fictional client. ❤️ We miss you, Rachel! ❤️

first reading: Queen of pentacles, eight of cups and the hierophant second reading: six of pentacles, Queen of pentacles and knight of pentacles last reading which was the most recent one: Page of wands, 6 of swords does anyone wanna provide an interpretation of what all this can mean i recently split from someone because they weren’t giving me what I needed.. it’s been approx 2 weeks almost three I’ve gotten some readings done in that time period and here is what was said in order (last being most recent) can anyone overall interpret these readings as a whole?

This is a spread I use quite often both for myself and others. It can be used for various specific questions or just a general sense which is probably why I have never come up with a name. It is a larger spread at eight cards which is odd because I am three person (3 cards or sets of 3). I hope this spread works for people here as well as it has worked for me over the years. I tend to enjoy spreads that connect with the mind, body, and soul, and this one also throws in the past, present, future spread as well! I found it online, the credit tag is on the photo.

Every morning I do a 1 card reading, to determine what I focus on that day. I’d like to learn some more, that are quick and easy to do before work. What do you guys do when you want a quick reading, and what kind of questions do you ask?

I have been doing tarot for a year but I am still learning. I haven't done a-lot of readings until recently because of a new relationship. Currently I just shuffle and whatever falls I take into account, I never know when to stop though. So I will have 10 cards on the table and be confused because I can't exactly interpret what's going on with so many cards. So what are simple spreads for newbies like me?

I really enjoy doing time position spreads. Aka: "what is The forecast for my love life for next week" and draw 7 cards, 1 card for each day, or "what is waiting for me next month" and draw 4 cards, 1 card for each week.

Im curious. I did 2 personal readings for myself. PPF General reading: Tower, Wheel of fortune, Devil PPF financial reading: 2 of cups, 3 of wands and wheel of fortune. Im curious what you guys think. I also did a love PPF but can’t remember the past and present.. the future however is ace of pentacles. I am single. Hello, Anyone else like smaller spreads over big ones? I really enjoy performing the 3-card spread (past, present, and future) on my clients as it gives me a good overview without being too specific and become lost in endless details. Also, I find it so much easier to consolidate the 3 cards at the end of a reading.

My friends, I've been having a wonderful time working through the lessons of learntarot.com, taking notes on each and working through the exercises. Today I reached Lesson 10, The Open Reading. The exercise at the end of this lesson prompts me to look for an opportunity in the coming weeks for an open/general reading to get myself familiar with this style of reading, preferably on a "special" occasion of new beginnings. Is there any sort of spread or reading you would perform on a full moon?

Hi everyone I wanted to share with you a terror spread that I just did, It is called the 2 options 7 card spread Which I found in the book A Little Bit of Tarot: An introduction to reading tarot, by Cassandra Eason. With this spread you are supposed to select 2 options or choice you are facing, but I guess you can always customize it if you have more than 2 options. I did this and it really was eye opening for me so I thought I would share. I wish I could post personal pictures.

I've been asked to do a tarot reading for future and I don't know which spread to use. The past present and future 3 card seems too small. I find it easier if I have a specific question, but general future is harder. So which spread is best?
