A comic-book themed tarot deck hasn't been done before, and here it is! It's called "Comic Book Tarot" and you can grab it on Etsy. For a full look at the deck in its entirety, click here.

Hello! So as a personal project I'm coloring Echo Chernik's tarot for coloring that she had a Kickstarter for a couple of years ago. The art is straightforward and in her illustrative style (which I really enjoy), with lots of white space to work with. In the beginning I was disappointed there wasn't more detail or flourish in her Art Nouveau style, I now love that simplicity because it's allowed me to customize them a lot, add keywords, etc. Add swirls. I really have a big thing for swirls. I'd love to finish these in the next six months so I can read with them, although at the speed I'm going at currently that's an absolute pipe dre…

This is my first topic that I am starting, so I apologize if I do this incorrectly! I think I read over all of the rules that I could find, so let me just go ahead and get started... I've been working slowly to improve my knowledge of Elder Futhark runes. For personal reasons, I have had an affinity for them for years. I've found some rather high-priced rune learning decks, and I decided recently that I was going to make my own. Cards and supplies are ordered, but now I have this wonderful community to bounce ideas off of... so my question: has anyone done this? Does anyone have any recommendations, ideas, no-nos?

Not sure if I'm dropping this post in the right place... Shannon Loftis is considering a reprint of both the Augenblick Tarot and Oracle decks! https://www.augenblickcartomancy.com/reprint If you're unfamiliar with them: https://www.augenblickcartomancy.com/gallery Both are created from a collection of photolithographs from the Library of Congress, taken between 1895-1905 from all over the world. The result is a delicious, square tarot deck that's in my Top 5 Cannot Live WiIthout-EVAH. Oracle decks are ~biz card size. (I have no skin in this game, other than to snap up some spare decks to put in my safe. 🙂 But, her story is an inspir…

Hey! I’m creating a new tarot deck and wanted to get some opinions on the artwork. The deck is called ‘The witches of the Crescent Moon’ and will be an all female deck, thought the card names will remain the same ;) I’ve added ‘The Fool’ card below but please take a look at my Facebook page as I will be posting a new artwork each day. facebook.com/WitchesOfTheCrescentMoon Once all the artwork has been completed I hope to launch on kickstater.com for funding but I wanted to get some opinions of the style or if you spot something I could be doing wrong as I’m not a tarot card user, just a designer haha. Sorry if you’ve seen this post on another forum, I w…

Hi again :) Almost have the problem solved but not 100% yet. I don't think I explained my problem properly. Does anyone know what size choices for the paper that original art is on should be to fit the tarot template for cards measuring 2.75x3.75 ? My originals were wonky in that the figures had to be stretched taller as well as when Gamecrafter cut them, there was some white showing on some edges. I'm redoing them and changing some so don't mind doing them again, but want to make sure they look the same when printed. Our scanner model is HP ENVY Photo 7855 if that helps. I'm making them small enough to fit the scanner but would love to know my size choice being r…

I am looking to find a POD company that can print Tarot cards with a 7 x 10 inch book, I was just browsing and i came across Ludocards.com. A was told that they do nice quality cards with rounded corners, but i wanted to know what the quality of the books are like. I was looking more for a paper back quality but not sure if thats what they offer. Thanks

Hi 😊 Would anyone know what dimensions a piece of canvas should be tcut to to later on be able to have printed in tarot size cards without stretching or shrinking or losing and of the picture? Over the last ....believe it or not lol....30 years I have drawn and coloured a set . We sent them off to print a deck but they are stretched and look bad. I'd like to re do them, fix or change in oil paint. Don't want to make them huge or tiny so 8x10 or a little bigger would be perfect. Realize 8x10 wouldn't shrink to that size , but could cut larger pieces of canvas pad paper to whatever the dimensions neat that size would be. Rotten at math and fear making a mistake. …

ORACLE 48 These are a few images of the Oracle I put together using the available resources I had on hand. It should be delivered within the next few weeks or so. Some of these (like the fave one) took a few hours to do for each as it all came down to lining it up right and choosing the right material. Am hoping it will be a workable deck rather than another door stopper. A) One of my favourite cards plus the back. B) That image by itself. C) A timing card - 3 Months. It possibly has other meanings as well when used in a general way. DND

So, I haven't actually worked out the ratio for a deck size for a Tarot deck. But that's an easy enough calculation. What I'm wondering is, for those who have created Tarot decks, or other printed works. Do you work with your image in a larger size, but at the same ratio ... or do you start out with the images at the finished size? (Mine will be done on the computer using public domain & free government photos.)

Dear people of the tarot-tea-tent, What if ... What if you wanted to start making your own deck, just fer fun, cause you participated in various collaborative decks we won't say where and had fun ? And what if you wanted to go about doing this in the company of other like-minded sort-of-not-really-artists-or-deck-creators-but-just-tarot-people on this forum, well then what ? I've done a World Card, an Ace of Swords, a two and three of cups, and some others I'll have to dig up on AT. I thought it would be fun to start working on one card at a time, on those I haven't already done, in sort of the same vein. Would anyone here like to, just for fun, do the same ? It wou…

Hi, I'm going to use etching to print my own tarot deck. Does anybody know others who use manual printmaking to make their own deck?

so I have been popping around the different POD sites as I make iterations of this deck of cards. They keep proofing too dark. As in way to dark, I have done this a bit on the print shop end and it wasn't adding up (it still isn't) So this time for a frame of reference I used specific color s that could be checked against. The green of the card is the exact panatone color chip as the Michigan State Spartans..... but when the cards came in they are such a dark green they are almost black. I wasn't crazy, and it is not my computer's display (which is what the 1001 suggestions and responses I got from EVERYONE were). This deck is from MPC but really same thing fro…

about a decade ago i casually started to make a broadway deck and then wandered away and forgot it. a few weeks of poking around here and i've started to get a yen to return to it and see if i can at least finish off the major arcana, so i spent tonight working on new versions of the template and cards, and i figured i would share what i made so far! obviously this is just for fun and my tarot skills and photoshop skills are not the greatest. 🙂 I'm hoping to take all the major arcana from the major works of musical theatre canon, but we'll see how well i do! if any of you are musical nerds and want to…

Hi everyone I just wanted to share my current tarot/oracle creation with you! It's 110 cards and includes Astrology, Alchemy, Kaballah, Qlipoth, Angels, Demons, as well as other higher beings and concepts. I coded all of the cards to be utilized in spellwork and for meditations as well. It's currently on kickstarter!!

Getting a lwb printed can be as big a hurdle as the deck I have found. Perhaps because I am a bibliophile by nature, but I expect a lot out of a book. I am always impressed when the LWB is perfect bound and a little larger. My i-ching deck came with one, and a couple other more high end decks have them...though I am usually not interested in the decks they look and feel great. back and forth I have floundered with making a normal A5 (5x8) size book , while and A6 is really a ncie size being just a little larger than a Thoth deck in dimensions, and then there is the A7 which is really the size of a European trump card. I can not find any POD printers that get down…

What would you think if you bought a new deck of cards and instead of an LWB, there is an extra card directing you to the App Store? What would you expect to see a digital LWB? calendar|journal, card descriptions, anything else? is this just annoying or possibly an asset it would lower the price of a deck and it's subsequent shipping, among other things. whole bunch of work to do in the first place though :o

Hi guys, Seems like I'm starting a tarot deck project for 2018! The working title is The Page's Tarot, because of my name on this forum and since I feel a bit like a small Page embarking on this long journey. Basically I'll be recreating the RWS deck as an art project since I'm very fond of it, warts and all. I'll probably change up some things as I go on with my project and I'm open for it to morph into something else dependant on what those changes might be. So far I've made two cards as gifts, the Queen of Cups and the Hermit, which will probably have to be recreated for myself. Luckily I have a primitive lightboard, a glass top table, to help me with that. I ha…

Toying with layouts. The original artworks are the ones with a white background. I did a quick survey and people seemed to like the negative version as well. The negative's a bit problematic in that some details don't show up (I tried doing a negative version of the Strength card, for example, and the lion ended up looking like some random squiggles on top of each other). I still do plan on offering both versions, so I'll have keep the negative version in my mind all the time while drawing the normal one. The original doodles are 10 years old. They'll have a redraw to suit the dimensions of the "tarot" size POD printers offer. I've finished the rough pencil sketches of th…
