Hi everyone! I'm super bad at forums (lurked at Aeclectic for years but never posted), but I just wanted to share my tarot deck work-in-progress, The Dreamer's Tarot. It's loosely inspired by dream logic, and many of the cards stray quite a bit from traditional Rider-Waite symbolism, while still aiming to embody the cards well enough to stay identifiable. Hi everyone! I finally decided to design my own Tarot deck! I'm planning to make this deck for my own use, but I might print more copies to sell. I'll decide when the deck is finished. If I feel that it might interest people, I'll maybe even put it on Kickstarter, but only when the deck will be fully finished. I'll do my best to design and finish the deck in a year. The plan is to make 3 cards in 12 days, distributed on 2 weeks, keeping the Sundays as break days. Hello, I'm New to the forum and i wanted to ask what is your favorite art medium that you prefer to use, i mainly work with digital art on Photoshop you can spend time improving things until you are happy with it, and creating an image is more easier to do as i like using simple colour techniques with my artwork. I've been creating a medieval fantasy deck based on knights and dragons called '' Knights Quest Tarot, it follows the Rider Waite structure with some familiar cards that you will recognize.

I have just completed my last deck. Like so many others, its based on the RWS. But its no clone. Some cards are dark and dramatic, others light and cute. Some depict the scenes of the RWS in a recognizable way, in others I have visually gone off script. But i believe that anyone familiar with the RWS will still perceive them as conceptually familiar. Originally, this project started out as just a single Tarot card themed writing prompt on one of my blogs. And I feature several images of the card from various artists from Deviant Art in that post. I've been working on this deck on and off for years. My work-work keeps getting in the way but I finally have some time to really finish this project. You can see the cards I've painted and complied (with digital mock-up numbers and rounded corners) below. The moon card and heart card are finished but I am re-painting them. I know my Tarot cards are slightly different, and full with humor. I guess it is because sometimes, when dealing with tough situations, I felt that laughter was my best medicine. Just thought I'd share my drawing of the Page of Cups. It isn't part of a bigger project—I'm not developing a whole deck, I just decided to draw this one individual court card. It's RWS-based (fish and flower) and also inspired by some events/imagery from when I went to live at an ashram in Bali for a couple of days. Sorry if the Ophelia-esque imagery makes anyone feel uncomfortable (just try not to think of it that way). I drew it on a whim (just a day before a Full Moon in Scorpio). It took about an hour or so.

I've seen lots of interesting artwork done with Photoshop Textures, i'm glad there are members here who also enjoy creating their own textures with their artwork. There are so many that you can choose from or you can use a camera. a friend of mine uses closeups of anything from wood to bricks and stones and then play with them in photoshop to create textures. Lately, I've been using a lot of photoshop patterns and just altering them with overlay filters and contrasts can make images stand out more I've been using a texture to create a smokey background for my Devil card i've posted it on my blog. how do you use them and whats been your experience with creating textures…

I'm a graphic designer and as a personal project I'm trying to develop a tarot/playing card deck, I have the idea to unite the Rider Waite tarot deck and the standard French playing cards, since they have a shared history somewhere down the line it seemed to me like an interesting idea. Since I had far too much time sitting around this weekend making trouble I decided to celebrate my having done nothing for days by doing something. The court cards in my deck follow all other decks in the general sense that, they all represent the Zodiac. Mine may have a suit switched with your deck, but they all still have the same meanings.
