Amberjune Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 The Price of Love Deck arrived today.I really like the design!
Queen of Nothing Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I finally got around to ordering the Impressionists Tarot. I've heard some mixed things about, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it in some way, as Impressionism is by far my favorite art style. And it should be arrive tomorrow or the day after 🙂
EvelynnMorragan Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Just ordered Tarot Reversals for Beginners: Five Approaches to Reading Upside Down Cards by L. Robertson because it was on sale through Llewellyn. Can't wait for my order to come in!
EvelynnMorragan Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I just broke down and bought The Crow Tarot and The Santa Muerte Tarot. I should not have just done that. But I'm still so excited to see them!
Libra 58 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) I just got "The Golden Wheel Tarot" by Mila Losenko and it´s beautiful!😀 Edited January 22, 2020 by Libra 58

xTheHermitx Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 So I am just getting a little bit of time to look at these tonight, but already they take me to another place!!! They are dark; simple; the combination of the imagery and the cardstock gives them an organic feel/vibe; the history - if I remember correctly - is that they were created pre WW 2 in Poland, and he had to do them in secret to avoid being caught by the Nazis, and they definitely have that vibe to me...secretive; "Eastern Block", almost like the propaganda poster imagery from the same era and part of the world, though I know they were not intended to reflect that The cardstock reminds me of pre 1989 baseball card stock....cardboard base; matte finish. Thick feeling. I think that "dryness" (as opposed to the glossy feel of modern cards) gives it some of the older vibe. The pip cards are pseudo-Nouveau to me...funny that much of the design almost have a "hex sign" feel to it. All of the Major Arcana backgrounds are black, which I think is what is pulling me in the direction of the deck being sort of "covert" in it's nature, or shadowy... Here is my guy, of course....awesome!!!! and just some of the Major Arcana... I am planning to do the next Moon spread with these, as well as just adding them to my study time with the other cards
Rose Lalonde Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 "With courier for delivery" Sweet, sweet words. (This is for the Pharos I posted about earlier.)
Nanook Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 It's been a challenging and busy (in a good way mostly) few weeks and these decks have been patiently waiting for me. I'm very eager to explore each in its own time.
queenofwans Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Holy wow @Nanook what a haul! Enjoy working with your lovely new decks! I just got Les Metamorphoses du jour Tarot from Tarocco Studio in the mail yesterday, and I'm really loving it! It feels fun, quirky, and playful. I love the images chosen, and as far as I can tell, there are no duplicates from Fantastic Menagerie. I'll still spring for FM when it becomes available for preorder, but this is a beautiful deck in its own right. The card stock is wonderfully matte.
KaiNO Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Hi guys, I haven't been very active with Tarot lately, but I try to keep my postman busy 🙃 Since my last post, I have received Secret Tarot (Dominic Murphy Art), Buddish: Zen for the Modern World, Pharos, and the book Magick: An illustrated guide to Witchcraft. So, some slightly different joys here: * @Nanook: Wow! 😀
Symph Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Woooow you guys.... I'm over here drooling over all these decks!! And the whole secrecy/nazi thing just adds to the mystique that's incredible!! Ok so now that I have a good job, I'm gonna order a few things on Friday, first thing I'm ordering is the book @gregory recommended me called "Tarot the Complete Guide" by Cinthia Giles, I may also order a history book by Ronald Huttons that another member recommended me who's name escapes me cause it's very french looking and hard for me to pronounce/remember, starts with L though lol. Now that my fear is completely gone I think it's time I truly learn the history of the Tarot and I'm eager to learn it! Deck wise I'm DEFINITELY getting Shadowscapes, that deck has been calling to me for a while, pretty sure my last reading in the Triple Foundation thread one of my readers @Aldor44 (I believe it was) used it and it's been popping up in other ways so it's time to heed the call. The other deck I will probably get but might hold off till next pay check is "Tarot of the Spirit". I actually already THOUGHT I ordered this deck, but accidentally ordered the book instead! The book turned out to be amaaaazing so now I really need the deck that goes with it hahaha

It took 3 months to get here glad to hear about the job!!! Don't blow all the money in one fell swoop, but also, definitely do some "celebrating" with new decks/info!! I also want to get that Cinthia Giles book!!!

I do have trouble with that, I get a little bit of money and go "Oo I can get whatever I want!" but I think I've grown up a lot in that department in the last year or so so we should be alright hehe I'll tell my wife to let me have it if I don't lol

Now, when I buy "frivolous" things, I match that amount in the money market. It gets a great interest rate, and I rarely withdraw from it This helps me in 2 ways...first, if I don't have enough money to match for the account, I don't get the item, and when I can match, I am investing in my future a bit

For me, it was $1000 to start it. Check with your bank!! It is something I wish I would have done 20 years ago...when I was closer to your age...and I am pretty sure it was one of the things my parents said would be a good idea, but I thought the $6000 car stereo system was a better idea...

I'm about to get 1800 dollars because the company I work for is being bought out and they are giving that as an incentive for people who don't want to keep working to stay till the end (don't worry I can switch over to the new company it's just complicated) But yeah I know now what I'm gonna do with that 1800.... so glad you told me about this!

He was captured by the gestapo once and could have easily suffered the fate of Madame de Thebes. http://magicbohemia.com/2017/06/05/the-fortuneteller-of-the-golden-lane/ But he saved himself by eating the charge papers. Those Nazis would have been in trouble without proper paperwork so they let him go! And Lasenic went on to die of more natural causes. http://www.tarotforum.net/library/16/2004-04/pierre-de-lasenic-and-tarot-20040402.shtmlhttp://magicbohemia.com/2017/10/23/pierre-de-lasenic-a-modern-esoteric-soul/ I love Lasenic. And I keep his deck in a special velvet pouch with a Wirth moon, in a special wooden box with a big tiger maple panel. Because it's so unique and intriguing!

Huge middle finger to those Nazi pukes. I am planning on getting a wooden box for that deck....I need to find the right one though...maybe one with a Wirthy moon as well!! But I am seeing one lined with black velvet...

There is nothing wrong with a $6000 car stereo. Especially considering that so many die before "their time". Most of my old friends were gone before I hit 35. Life is short, either way. Enjoy it. While it would be nice to have money in our old age, what are we going to do with it? Gimp along the Champs-Élysées with a walker with tennis balls on it? I was talking with an elderly couple not long ago who told me they always lived very frugally in order to save their money. And they told me that they sat down and worked out the inflation rate vs. the interest they accrued, and that they actually LOST a lot of money by saving. It's rigged, and not in our favor. https://www.usinflationcalculator.com I know that's bleak, and you're probably better off with some kind of nest egg even if it's less than what you put in, than just blowing your money all your life. But I don't trust banks, or 401 K's, or any of that. If you are going to invest, your best bet is probably land/real estate. They're not making any more of that, and it's harder for them to play their smoke & mirrors game. Edited February 21, 2020 by katrinka

(I am in the process of figuring it out...ugh) and the me of 15 years ago would agree...spend it now, rather than leave it after death, but I also feel like when I am not physically able to make money, I want some "cans buried in the yard" to fall back on....I think I am trying that for now...though when you live paycheck to paycheck, a lot of your spending decisions are made for you and my wife and I are already making plans to buy some land in Michigan on Lake Huron to retire to and build on...
