Upon further evaluation I have definitely crossed off Ethereal Visions. It's a far too washed out looking for my taste plus after reading a few reviews I agree with what many others have said re white washing 

 

The Cheimonette I relooked at and I love the colours but don't like some of the imagery so much. So that's off the list too.

 

Just read a review of Cosmos and that seems a bit all over the place in the art the constellations and the meanings. Would probably be better as an oracle deck? So that's another nope. 

 

The Arcana Tarot is this one from Nix Hydra based on the cards used in the game. I'm on the fence about this... 

 

The Bottanical Deck I actually really like. It's soo expensive though! Once shipping is added it works out around $140NZD 😱 Dreamkeepers and Dark Wood are less than half that each!

I hadn't seen that one. I like a lot of the individual cards and I like the art style, but it doesn't work for me as a whole. The borders on the corners make the cards seem small. Having the same animal on each suite seems repetitive. Even though they are colored different, they all seem too similar. This feels very pipish despite having an animal on each minor arcana card. This, for me, is the muddy middle ground where it's too much for a TdM deck and not enough to feel illustrated. But that is my two cents and YMMV.

I decided to read some Amazon reviews on the final two choices and it looks like there's been some issues with the Dark Wood. Namely peeling and chipping. I think I'll put that on the back burner for now.

Dreamkeepers Tarot.  Yes or No?  Talk me out of it.  I've been looking at images and it appears easily readable.  It has interesting artwork.  Nothing appears offensive.  For some reason I really like the High Priestess image that I've seen.  I've put it on what I refer to as my "gotta have it" list.  Should it stay or should it go?

Yes, yes I can live with those images.  I'm especially fond of the spiral sliced Fates.

Might I request some de-enabling for this deck: Tarot Cats - Etsy ?  It's just adorable, and shouldn't a cat lover and a tarot lover have a hearty selection of cat tarot decks? I think we can all agree that it should be so. Surely my life would be ever so much better if I possessed it. 🐈‍⬛

This may not technically be de-enabling, but it gets me to slow my roll. Here are some questions I ask about new decks I want. 

1. When will I use it? What kinds of readings will I use it for? Do I actually need a separate deck or another deck for shadow work, love readings, creative projects, general readings, or whatever?
2. Do I have something similar?
3. Can I use something I already have instead? 
4. Do I like the concept, some of the cards, or all of the cards? This is a big one for me. Especially for the fandom decks Insight Editions is pumping out like crazy. 
5. If you have other cat decks, is pulling them out and comparing them to each other and the deck on Etsy an option? When I think I want a new Halloween deck, I typically realize that it’s too similar to ones I already have.

All valid points, but I think you really got me on numbers 2, 3 and 5. My roll is definitely slowing. 😲

I am the cattest person here. TOTALLY cat. I hadn't seen this before. But REALLY - NO cat is ever accepting a PINK INVASION  like that. It's undignified

 

Look - if a mad cat lady like me with a collecting mania like mine won't buy it - why would you ? My number of decks (embarrassing) won't stop me - the actual DECK does here.

It's cute, in a bland way, but obviously very, very forgettable.

OMG - just had another look. Some of the cards. the eyes are actually - NOT CAT EYES ! Empress is the worst,.. Freaky.

It’s a interesting concept, but I personally wouldn’t be able to read with it since it’s much too depressing. I can’t even imagine what sort of questions I would ask it. I have a fine line between disturbing and triggering and this crosses it. It makes me feel trapped in my own head and tarot is supposed to help me get out of my own way. I like creepy, but this is too much for me. 
 

I have the Deviant Moon tarot. It’s unsettling and disturbing, but since the figures are more humanoid than human, it works for me. However, I just couldn’t with the oracle deck by the same creators. 
 

For everyone who likes this deck, I promise I have at least one deck I love that you don’t, and that’s okay. Just my two cents and YMMV.

I find the deck troubling.  I've a background in psychology,  and for me it evokes the worst of the problematic history of psychological science and historical stereotypes of madness. Much of this imagery has valid and deeply layered meaning, of course, speaking to the darker side of being, to ancient fears and anxious selves. But it's not for me.

After spending hours looking at some of the images last night, I woke this morning to Time Warp playing in my head...Madness takes its toll.  Could you live with that?

 

And what about the cost?  For what that deck would set you back, you could have 3 or 4 nice RWS based decks that would make so much more sense to you.

I love Rocky Horror! Now I want to listen to the sound track again. ‘Cause I’ve seen’ that movie too many times. Although this deck is more Shock Treatment (spiritual sequel to RHPS) than it is Rocky Horror.

I can relate to the opinions of you both. 

 

And yes, it is much too expensive, I agree! I looked at it once and now and again thought of it and couldn't forget the deck. Don't know what it is, probably the wish for a deep psychological deck, but I don't think at all this deck could be this. I find it more dreamlike. 

 

Oh, I'm sorry, @euripides! I think, I can understand. I don't know, if the meaning is valid, my fear would be that it leads to nothing but disturbing emotions that remain unresolved. But it is only my fears, maybe for some people does it work to confront themselves and find a solution.
