Hi all,

I've used Tarot cards for many years on and off, relying on the book definitions however since a reading I had last year and some advice, I've taken to intuitive reading.

Intuitive reading works a lot better for me and I've become a lot more in-tune with my deck.

I've joined the group for more guidance, advice and connection with other Tarot cards readers.

It's lovely to meet you!  I too started with reading with learnt meanings before reading intuitively - for me it was all about finding the right deck!

But welcome to the forum!

Hi, @Tams717:animated-smileys-waving-065:

It’s wonderful that you’re finding your personal way of relating with the cards! And there’s a lot to dig into and participate with on this forum. As you’ve discovered, and any combination of intuitive and traditional reading is ok also, it’s all about what works for oneself!

Nice to meet you! 🙂

Welcome the the Forum @Tams717. I have had the same issues regarding Tarot; when I first started I relied heavily on the books and "cheat sheets" for the card meanings. Now that I'm trying to use my intuition a lot more I find that I work better with only 1 or 2 of my decks... Tarot is giving me a hard time these days!

@Eamane thank you. I've only had 3 different decks and one of them seems like second nature to use, since I've been using intuition more.

If you don't mind me asking, what is giving you a hard time?

I have 7 decks, and only 2 are not RWS-based, and I had been working quite nicely with them until recently. I have problemes reading certain cards in certain positions, the meanings don't come to me as easily so I have to reflect or research; other times I just feel some sort of "rejection" towards the cards and cannot read them.

Putting cards in context comes with practice. Go through your decks and consider how you would interpret each card in different kinds of common questions, such as romance, money, work, health, etc.
And do continue to research!

Thanks for sharing @Eamane, I haven't picked up my RWS cards in a long while, I don't connect as easily with them either and need a bit more research/reflection as well 🙂

@katrinka good advice 😊

Thank you so much for the advice @katrinka. I'll certainly try to do that.
