I have read lots of advice that says to record your daily card in a journal. I appreciate that everyone's way of journalling will be different but I was wondering if you could describe or show me some of your examples to give me ideas to get me started. What kind of things do you find useful to record? Do you find you refer back to your entries at a later date? How do you lay out the information? Do you have separate sections for different information? Digital or paper? I feel like there's so many choices it's a bit overwhelming to know how to get started.

I hope that I'm putting this in the correct place. I just finished a big reading and I've noticed that while I'm doing my readings I get SO hot. I have to turn on the air conditioner and then when I'm done my body cools down. Sometimes my hand will also move to pick up specific cards while I'm doing my readings. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences certain sensations while reading tarot? I once saw another lady say she also gets hot while she's reading tarot but I feel like there are probably countless other cool things that could happen while you're working in all that psychic energy. I only read for myself and maybe friends/family. It's not a daily thing, I'll just reach for the deck when I really think I need it. It's a small RW deck. However in the past 3-4 months I've been finding it increasingly hard. I feel like I need to invest a ton of energy into one reading. When I first started I was asking a million questions and now I barely ever touch the deck. When I do, my interpretation seems off. It's like we've gone off each other or something. I recently acquired the Tarot of Mystical Moments, and while I find the art charming, I was disappointed to see that the sides of the cards are gilded in silver. I generally find gilding annoying and loathe the rise of its popularity in the last few years. It often makes shuffling difficult and renders the cards needlessly sharp, and its ubiquity means that it is not even a special or lux characteristic anymore. Hey So, I recently found out a reader I know removes the death card from each deck she owns and throws it away...because of her own superstitions. I've never purchased a reading from her, this was something she told me she did and I am glad that I never purchased a reading from her...I just personally feel like id be cheated...and that she lets her own personal feelings and beliefs interfere with a reading. When I draw cards like the 5 of pentacles or the 4 of wands I feel like there is lot to see in the card - all sorts of emotions and stories that I can use and relate to. But I come unstuck when I draw an ace. I feel like there's not much going on on the card so it's difficult to connect with them. If I look up the traditional meanings they seem quite straightforward but don't often resonate with how I'm feeling. Has anyone got any tips for how to get more out of my reading of the aces?

I am surprised that I can't find this topic anywhere on the forum dedicated to Tarot. Maybe, because I am new to this forum and did not know where to look. Hello everyone I was just wondering what everyone thinks about the debate about which elements are associated with the suits of Wands and Swords. Wands/Fire, Swords/Air makes sense to me, since Wands are all about passion and action, while Swords are more about thought and intellect. I've heard people argue for the opposite associations, however. I'd love to hear your opinions.

I was wondering what would be the cause of someone reading tarot cards for another person, but end up having the reading be about them and not the sitter? What causes such phenomena? Is it some sort of magical mishap? Some angry witch put a curse on you so you can’t give out advice to others? 😂 What gives?

I'm just wondering how important it is, or is not to some readers of using an actual spread they may find on the web, or from a book either off the shelf or one that comes with a book in a tarot deck. If you feel that is the one to use, or if there is a magic pill so to speak by finding a spread somewhere to get it right for a particular reason. Do you read cards almost instantly? Or do you have to sit and read the cards for a few moments until something/feelings come to you?

Hi. When interpreting the cards, most people seem to use the Rider Waite deck and lots of meanings and interpretations of individual cards on tarot websites seem to be derived from them as well. My question is, if we are using a different deck and they have some differences to the Rider Waite, how do we incorporate those differences with the general (Rider Waite) meaning of the cards when we're reading/ interpreting?

Hello, I am still relatively new in tarot readings , but do truly enjoy them , and do feel like I connect to what the cards are telling me. In the past few months I have noticed (not that it's been hard to) , that I repeatedly am drawing The Judgment in my readings and always in an upright position, presented as me now or "What to do" type of a card. I do understand the basic- change seeking meaning of the card and see that there is a lesson to be learned. But wanted to hear your visions and thoughts about that. Thank you.

I’m finding that I’m having difficulty connecting meaning to the following cards: 3 of Coins 7 of Coins and the Pages and Knight court cards Anyone else have issues with these? I feel like when I see them that it just has a neutral feel, or a very limited understanding. For example, all I can think of with 3 of Coins is teamwork. Reversed, I think only of projects not working out. 7 of Coins I see waiting. Reversed I see spoilage. And the pages and knights all might as well be the same cards because they’re like a blur to me.

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this please, as a newbie trying to figure all this out! I am learning with the RWS. I really like the imagery and feel it's assisting with my learning. I have a few other Tarot decks which I bought predominantly for the imagery, but want to build my relationship with the RWS first and feel more comfortable with the card meanings before branching out. It can be an old relative or your parents even, if the gift has been passed down your family line for generations. It can be a close friend who happened to be an expert, or a Tarot luminary who saw your promise. It can be gratis or it may involve an exchange of resources, as long as you had a close and sincere bond with them while you were under their tutelage.

How many of you have engaged with a card's depth by doing an intentional visual mediation with the archetypes and symbolism? I believe I started with a template from Mary K. Greer, but soon adapted for my own needs. I have done so with several cards, all from the Thoth, which yielded some fascinating insights. Not always a revelation, but worth the effort. I originally did quintessence by only adding minor arcana (excluding courts) and now I add all including courts (I don't use reversals but if I did I would subtract their values) and I was just wondering 1: how those of you that use a quint add up the value and 2: do you view it as an overall outcome, theme, hidden factor, etc? Side note: I've heard some people add the bottom card of the deck's value, why?
