Not asking if you did it, not prying about your feelings about it, but feel free to share anything. I'm just asking if anyone else has been asked to read on when someone would die or if they were going to die (as in someone was ill or had an ill friend or family member). I remember some years back, a fellow reader said her husband was CERTAIN she knew when he would die just because she was a reader! She never read on it, brought it up, he just ASSUMED since she read tarot....

So i was doing a spread related to places and i thought that this would be a good idea for a topic. I've seen people doing cards as people or as music but didn't see this one yet. Do you think the quality of the reader/deck "relationship" is pre-ordained by the intent (or perceived spiritual authenticity) of the deck creator? Also, how much of the deck/reader experience is actually influenced by the "author", as I would naively imagine that the illustrator is the predominant influence on how a reader engages and experiences a deck? I saw a thread on here last year discussing tarot and Myers-Brigg types. I am curious if I wanted to take it deeper and not rely on the matching that has already been done, what sort of questions would be useful to ask my deck. I know there is a lot of debate about personality tests and I am far from an expert or have enough knowledge to engage, but I find them useful as guiding posts to frame my strengths and weaknesses and look at areas I need to develop. Hey everyone! I recently got a new deck, The Harmony Tarot, and I think it is so beautiful. It seems like a great fit for me as it's for growth and healing, something I'm working on at the moment. My problem is I am not connecting to this deck at all, an issue i've never had before. My last two decks i've picked up, starting reading, and it all made sense. With this one my readings just feels jumbled and don't quite make sense. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advice? 🙂

Nearly two years ago, elsewhere online, I had given an individual a reading that they felt was fairly accurate. I sometimes offer free readings in a chatroom environment with the understanding that for me to do so, the individuals must give feedback in the chatroom in return. I do that so that others can learn the cards. The Aged Look is definitely out there for all kinds of decks, especially tarot. What irritates me is that they are designed to look, well, old and yet some have backs that don't match the aged look and have TOO WHITE borders. I antique linen the edges of decks, some darker, some lighter, but those too white borders on front or the backs, just don't match the deck for me. I was surprised the Borderless Smith Waite, which I see as basically the Centennial just without borders and a different color back, had a back that was not only not borderless, but has those WHITE borders. Does anyone have any examples of unconventional suit meanings/associations that are still useful and illuminating? Hello everyone, I've seen a section about tarot that reads like "the meaning of cards are never always as they seem.", and the meaning of the card "The Devil" is more interest for me "not always means the evil or distruction, it can mean other things", the personal description about the devil card is more attracted me "a dark lover approaching, bringing terror. irreststible. part of you, but not. the whisper of something ghastly and betiful." After the very sad news of Mr S Kaplan, i wanted to know if there was going to be a vol 5 Encyclopedia of Tarot. I had read somewhere that Mr Kaplan was planning on doing a fifth volume and had collected enough material for 400 pages, with co-author Jean Huets. I did notice that often if I tossed the tarot bag in my bag, purse, they would slide around and not stay exactly stable. SO I put them in stretchy socks first! Depending on the size of the deck, that's the size socks I would use. Any type that was stretchy and looked cool! Hi all, I am completely new to tarot and am trying to learn the cards and their meanings whilst also trying to let intuition guide me rather than simply memorising things. I am currently pulling a card a day for myself and trying to write my intuitive thoughts first and then looking up the meanings after. I had a man tell me once that "You have to keep your cards hot"' meaning that you have to use them regularly. And I've found this to be true - not just with cards in general, in the sense of staying in practice, but with individual decks. Let me explain: If I put surplus decks in a box, shelve them and forget them for a few years, then pull them out and use them, they don't seem to work as well as decks I use regularly. Neither do new decks. It's not a matter of being out of practice, I've found that this is the case with traditional Lenormand decks as well. I wondered what other peoples' experience has been with online or mobile tarot apps...you know, the ones that randomly generate the cards? Personally, I have a hard time with them. I have had good experiences, but overall, I find myself really disconnected from them, and the cards usually don't feel right. I'll get out my physical deck and have a completely different read and experience. Even if it is something I don't want to hear, it feels right. I don't even like to buy decks online.
