Hi, I just received my new deck: Llewellyn Classic Tarot mini. Unfortunately there was no book with it. I don think it matters though but I would like to know if there is a particular book that goes with this deck? Or otherwise a book someone can advice me to get?

Hi all I’m a newbie, so hope this is posted in the right place 😊 I’m finding it really helpful to go back and look at the meaning of each individual number and then apply this to each Suit as a way of revising the Minor meanings - it’s a really useful cross reference. E.g. 1/Ace being new beginnings, potential, energy etc. applying to relationships (Cups), business ventures, career, promotion (Pentacles) and so on. Does/has anyone else used this technique and found it useful? Can anyone share links to any good tarot/numerology resources? Thanks all 😊

Hi I was wondering what your thoughts are when it comes to activating/aligning chakras when it comes to tarot or oracle card reading. Have you found your results have improved when you've worked on your chakras if so how did you do it?

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share the results that came out of some meditation I did yesterday to spark some conversation and elicit some perspectives. As background, I've been most recently been working with the Wildwood deck but have had a lot of difficulty with the Court cards because I am not attuned to the animal attributes (yet). I felt like this was impacting my ability to deliver good readings, particularly those in the relationship domain, without relying very heavily on the supporting deck material which at times feel flat, uninspired, and fairly lacking in substantive information (at ones that spoke to me) on the Court animals. Anyway, this is a long j…

Hi everyone hope you’re all well...what’s your take on phoning a tarot line for a reading? How many cards do they use? Do you think they can give an effective reading over the phone, I wonder how it works do they shuffle the cards and then ask to ask them to stop? Do they spread them out and ask you to count along to choose the cards? Or do they just shuffle and take the top 3 or 5 or whatever number...just curious as to how a remote reading works 👍

Hi everyone sorry me again is it ok to only do upright readings and not bother with reversed cards so you just concentrate on the uprights or it wrong should we take both into consideration?

Hi, I’m new here, I started my journey with cards during the first lockdown. I often do my own cards as I’m trying to learn. This morning I have done my own reading, a Celtic cross (10) cards, 7 out of the 10 cards were major arcana cards, I’ve never had this many before, could anyone advise what this means? I’m going through a pretty difficult situation at present and had asked how the next few months will be. Am I allowed to discuss which cards I pulled? many thanks

Lately many creators have decided to create tarot deck in their own way. There are too many that don't follow any of the traditional tarot systems. Some examples that I can think of are the Mary El Tarot and Osho Zen Tarot are some examples. What would those types of tarot called? They can't be oracle cards because they are constructed as a 78 card deck with the 22 Majors and 56 minors, but it's not really a traditional tarot since some of the titles are changed around. Is there any work that describes those types of decks?

I am reading a lot about tarot and the cards and one thing I have noticed is that in certain books or websites you will get a different meaning to the cards. For example, I did a three card reading on a situation in my life: A friendship I ended. The last few days that person has been on my mind a lot so I did a three card reading: Card 1: The problem in front of you, Judgment Card 2: What needs to change, 4 of wands Card 3: How do you change it 4 of cups For me this reading means: The judgement card: The judgement card tells me that nick and bruises are a part of life and I need to let the sun shine in and accepting the…

Hi everyone my question is can you learn tarot from sources such as books, internet or even a tarot teacher or is it a gift? Some people are naturally gifted to read the cards but can they be learnt and interpreted if you have a great interest?

Happy upcoming New Year, TT&M family! 🥰 I am currently on pain medication for some major medical events that have transpired in my life recently, but today I had a fulfilling reading experience. However, reading while not-quite-sober is a jarring experience for me. I am someone who loves to feel in control, so though I am pretty lucid today, the fact that I am dizzy and experiencing some side effects of the medicine has my mind racing a bit when I am reading. How do you manage the responsibility of a reading alongside being sober, or not-sober? I am just curious to hear about others' experiences and thoughts on this topic. No judgment whatso…

Hi Everyone, Just joined in the past week, really grateful for everything and everybody here, feel really inspired by this a thoughtful and mature community. I have recently been visiting a number of Tarot social media sites (problem #1, I know) in order to get high(ish)-volume practice at reading with a new deck that has really captured my passion (Wildwood). My experience with this deck has been really profound, and it feels like it really cuts at a deep level (both with my personal work with the deck and in my readings for others). I'm curious if others feel disheartened or "pulled down" by the fact that 90-99% of Tarot interest/traffic seems to be focused …

Hello everyone hope your all safe and well, I’m just wondering how many cards to you pick for yourself regularly, I know there are daily card pickers but are 3 cards too much on a daily basis for yourself? Thank you

So I'm interested in hearing other peoples approach to this. Where do you start from in a reading? Do you first look at the cards and try to catch the overall message and hope for an intuitive hit which will give you the starting direction, or do you start by going "so I see the 4 of Swords here which means that maybe it's a time to step back and take a break" and try to trigger the intuition that way? I know it's probably the most basic question ever but I'm interested because for me (in my practice readings for imaginary people) it seems to be both. Sometimes I directly get a story/concept popping into mind and I work from there, and sometimes I'm just listing off the k…

Hi Everyone, New to this group and loving it. I'm wondering how experienced readers handle deck differences, for example the 5 of Vessels from the Wildwood Tarot vs. the RWS 5 of cups? And...what do these differences say about the underpinnings if why Tarot works, is it like speaking two similar languages, but one has a slightly different alphabet? All perspectives welcome!

Hello Tarot Friends, I have been thinking about how 95% of my tarot decks are either RWS based or Thoth based. And I find it all too easy to lean on the standard RWS meanings or the Thoth keywords with those decks. I want to get out of my cage of pre-packaged meaning and into some new symbolism, new territory. Of course, there is always purely intuitive reading, and I am going to do more of that for sure, especially over in the ISG Reading Circle. But I'm interested in deck creators who have developed their own symbolism for the cards. Creators who have lived with the cards long enough that they've developed their own personal understanding of …

I'm still new to tarot. I'm not accurate enough to read for other people, but I want to practice, practice, and practice. I feel stuck because of the pandemic. I spend most of my days at home alone, without any outside stimulus. I barely see any friends, and my family is far away too. There's nothing going on in my life I haven't done multiple readings on. I feel silly asking the same questions all the time, and I wouldn't want to focus on the loss of my job and all the stress it has on me either. What kind of readings would you do if you were in my situation?

Hello, Lately, I been curious about tarot reading. Okay, more like how do each individuals read the cards? Or more like what is your method? Since no person read the same. Personally, I have to describe the image as well the colors to answer the person question. Hm, does intuitive counts? If not, than sticking to the pretty picture 🤣

This is something I wrote up about a month ago and posted elsewhere but it didn't get feedback which left me a little sad. So let me try it here. What does everyone think about Types of Tarot Spreads? Do yours all fall into one of these categories? Is there another I should add? Relationship-Based ReadingsAbout 80% of the time, tarot readers are asked about relationships, especially romantic relationships. Relationships with people at work or in the family or friendship circle are pretty popular too. I feel like a psychoteric approach is best when it comes to using the tarot to talk about our relationships with people. Psychoterica (as a subset of esoterica) is basi…

I wondered something. Let's say I'm in a moment where I'm having a lot of fear about something. I do a reading during that emotional state, and the cards I pull tend to validate my fear, which makes me more afraid. But if I calm down and come back to the question later, I may get a totally different result. Maybe a positive one that puts my fears to rest. Do any of you ever experience anything like that? And if so, what do you make of it?

Hi all Having been away from my cards for a while, I've joined a couple of tarot Facebook groups, so that I can interact and do interpretations of card readings. One thing that I've noticed is that more often than not, people will post a photo of cards and ask for interpretations, but give no spread. They will post the question, but then nothing as to which card is in what position. Are spreads optional? Are more people reading tarot cards in a storyboard fashion, or linking key words to form statements? Do you need to have a position to 'frame' the meaning of the card? How many people read tarot without using spreads? T…

Hi all! I wonder how do you guys link cards together? I use RW tarot cards and am not a pro (also new to this forum as well). It has always been hard for me to link them together to read cards “like a story”. I know that I’m supposed to find things in common but sometimes it’s very hard to do so! any recommendations? thanks! yalda

I asked what I needed to Avoid in order to work on my current problem, the problem was the temperance which resonated with me but when the problem it told me to avoid came up as Ace of Cups I was a little confused. What are some possible meanings on this? Perhaps avoiding a new love interest?
