This Kickstarter project really put a smile on my face (despite the fact that I’m usually not into cat-themed decks) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/790159047/the-weird-cat-tarot/description

As a novice student of the Kabbalah, the first deck I read from was the Witches Tarot. The deck was intended to be a study aid but I read from it for clients for decades. What I loved about the deck is that the artist included imagery that related to the spiritual pathway of the Kabbalah. There is the Kabbalah spread where the cards are laid out in the map of the Kabbalah. In English these doorways are known as Desire, Clarity, Will, Vision, Heart, Courage, Joy, Knowledge, Wisdom, and Spirit. Anything can be put on the Kabbalah. For my example the pathway of frying an egg. It starts with Desire. 'I'm hungry.' Moves to Clarity 'What am I hungry for?' It takes an…

This is a feminist deck that was first printed in 1984. It became a classic and it is now made available again. Little Red Tarot has it up for pre-order with expected shipping in january: https://littleredtarot.com/product/theas-tarot/

After a few years of selling old artist copies bundled with the book She is Waiting in the Night, Metonymy Press is helping Ruth West reprint the original 1984 deck. They already have preorders up on their site (again bundled with the book—we’ll see if they’ll sell it by itself for those of us who’d like an extra copy or already bought the book) and Beth over at Little Red Tarot has already stated she’ll stock them in her store for UK folks. https://metonymypress.com/product/she-is-sitting-in-the-night-theas-tarot-deck/ Estimated release date is this Fall 2018.

hi, i've recently been bought the Thelema tarot deck. It said it came with a book for the cards but it doesn't 😞 does anyone know where i can get a book linked to the deck or is it own interpretation? i love the images on the cards and they are so different to my very old Russle Grant set (received in 1995). i'm in the uk if that helps. thanks Amy

At long last, Thiago Corrêa's cat tarot deck is being published! I've been following Thiago Corrêa for a long time, their art is so fun and interesting. Deck can be pre-ordered from various places, published by Abrams books. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cats-rule-the-earth-tarot-catherine-davidson/1140972886?ean=9781419766060 \o/

I just got a notification for this kickstarter in my email. While some of the decks might be in the public domain, how is this not 100+ copyright violations? Did he really purchase licensing from all those people, as he claims he did, before the project was even funded? If you recognize decks by living artists, the right thing to do would be to let them know about this.

I've had the Crowley Thoth Tarot (the one illustrated by Lady Harris) for years and, after trying to work with it, I got really spooked. EmpyreanKnight[/member] suggests that I should give the Thoth another try. Only if I can find a Thoth deck that appeals to me. So, would all of you kind souls who are familiar and really like your Thoth decks be willing to help me out with some suggestions of other Thoth tarots? Same system, but other artists, other visions, other art? Thank you, kindly. <3

I have transitioned to watercolor in my painting- and two decks have popped up that I am interested in. One is the Tarot de Aux Arcs- which I will probably get as I love non-traditional Marseille type decks. But the other one is the Watersprite- that is completely different with Marseille majors and RWS minors with what appears to be gorgeous use of watercolor artwork. Does anyone here have it? If you do- what do you think? I am always interested in readability as well as if you can riffle shuffle it. I have let many beautiful decks go when I found I couldn't shuffle them easily (read Schiffer decks on that one)- and so I don't want to plunge if this will end …

On Kickstarter: "The Threadbare Tarot, hand drawn by Carolyn Griffin, celebrates the persistence of humanity's divinity and its mark upon the tarot." It's a very minimalist deck with an interesting aesthetic. There are worn-out flags or banners present in each card, suggesting movement within the card in a subtle, elegant manner. It's an interesting addition to the symbolism of the deck and I really hope I get to explore that. She seems very well prepared to move forward with this project since she has a mock deck she's been using on her youtube channel. She even has a full walkthrough of the artwork ( ). However, it doesn't seem to be getting a lot of love…

Romanian artist Maria Surducan's Tarot-like deck, Timemongers, is now available for pre-order. I've been following this one for a while so despite the shipping costing more than the deck, I'm all in. It's got a similar aesthetic to Dream Vision Tarot, but with a gentler palette and a really interesting system: https://shop.mariasurducan.com/produs/precomenzi-timemongers/ EU, for all of those wanting a deck not shipping from the US! It IS a pips deck, but I'm willing to make an exception every now and then, and this is one.

So I didn't hear about this deck until the kickstater was over, and I'm having real trouble buying a copy in the wooden box here in UK. But despite the odd vibe I do like it, and would love to know if anyone has it, is reading with it? Or knows of a UK supplier with the box and boarding certificate? A couple of places have the image, but upon inquiry don't have the deluxe version 😞 Anyhow - can anyone speak about it? Thank s PathWalker

He gave an initial sneak peek on YouTube and it will soon be available on gamecrafter. I think it’s brilliant! (And do read the information in the description bar about how he purposely chose to misspell certain titles etc. Clearly a lot of thought - and humor! - went into the creation of this deck!)

A bit of a background story. The first time I saw Haindl deck, 20 years ago, I picked it out as a gift to my friend because I couldn't get it for myself out of fear of my very religious, anti-tarot parents. I remember we sat in "Tolkien's Pub", took the deck out, shuffled and asked "What was JRR Tolkien like?" The card we pulled was The Magician, and I knew right there and then that tarot is no joke and that I loved it. Yesterday I finally purchased this deck for myself. ☺️ I also asked it to introduce itself in three cards and this is what I got. ✨

Perhaps not a goal in itself, but how many of Tarot Association's Top 50 Essential Tarot Decks do you have? I've currently got 7 decks 🙂

I'm actually not familiar with the history of this deck so apologies if this is not news- but I believe this is a new edition of the Touchstone Tarot, coming out from US Games: https://www.usgamesinc.com/touchstone-tarot.html I happened across it so just thought I'd share!

Maybe you guys knew this already (I'm usually the last to know ANYTHING), but I have not seen this announced anywhere else. So, for those who are Johnny Come Latelys like myself, here it is: there is a new edition of Kat Black's OOP Touchstone Tarot, by US Games: https://www.usgamesinc.com/touchstone-tarot.html#:~:text=The Touchstone Tarot by Kat,art gallery in a box. For those like me who love Kate Black's magnificent decks, this is wonderful news. The original edition of the Touchstone was self-published and sold in a bag, or with a bag, if I remember correctly (I have never seen it, so I'm speaking from hearsay). The next…

So far I've only used a spreadsheet to keep track of my collection, which is around 100 decks. I'm wondering -- those you who have hundreds or even thousands of decks -- how do you keep track? I've been looking at a few different choices for a simple home database. Thanks!

Hi. My new puppy chewed the 5 of Swords of my late edition Blue Box, Conway St., has copyright. I'd trade a whole deck or pay for that replacement if anyone can help? I hope I have some interesting things if you are able to help like if you have a partial deck already and won't miss that card! Thanks!

I see that the wonderful I Tarocchi Celtici by Laura Tuan is re-printed. But sadly it seems the book is still only in Italian. Does anyone know if any enterprising soul has ever translated it in English? I could do all the keywords from the cards in a translate page, but the book is beyond me. Yet I'm sure it's fascinating. . . In hope PathWalker

I first owned this deck when it was a new publication. I didn't use it much because frankly, it's been a learning challenge and I've just been caught up in so much else over the years that I didn't have time or energy to really devote myself to it. At one point, I lost my deck in a storage fiasco and only recently have been able to get another. What I'm wondering is if there are others here who use the deck. I asked on another forum and didn't get much response. I think maybe the deck is more of a collectible because of its innovative and unusual nature but that it might also present a challenge to other readers so they haven't delved into it much. Is there a…

Looks like Valenza is making an illustrated pips version of Trionfi. Unfortunately he's not showing any of the new cards and only printing 500. 😕 Color me annoyed. At any rate: https://deviantmooninc.com/collections/trionfi-della-luna/products/trionfi-della-luna-illustrated-preorder-mid-april

I ordered the True Black Tarot many many months ago, and it just arrived!(this deck is why I'm not allowed to buy any other decks for a while) Kinda awed/feel a bit unworthy! I'll post pictures later, but I'm genuinely blown away by how beautiful this deck is, and the quality of the cardstock - they're *so thick* (supposedly 50% thicker than the average RW), and the use of foil and finish is really impressive. His painting skill is also incredible. They're breathtaking in-hand/more lovely than even the pictures make them out to be, and I can't wait to play with them more and just keep touching them. Still, I'm reacting to the visuals at the moment/haven't read the …

Hey guys, the beautiful True Black Tarot is now live on Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/61940810/true-black-the-tarot-deck I'm very impressed by the video, usually the campaign vids aren't so well done. But the deck itself is stunning and I've already nabbed a copy for myself! Just thought I'd spread the news in case anyone else has been waiting for this one too :)
